Please note we do not rent to guests under 25, and we do not allow outside visitors.
We have had issues with guests not respecting the house rules or following the printed instructions for the hot tub & hot tub cover use. Please be one of our stellar guests and leave the home as you found it!
OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE:
This is a working farm with wildlife and animals, and the owners ask that you (for your own safety and that of the animals) enjoy the animals from a distance. Please do not approach, feed, or touch the animals or wildlife. All fencing on the farm is wired, and if touched, will result in electric shock.
While you will find the farmhouse to be incredibly clean and we aim to provide quality service, but please keep in mind we're in a rural environment. Our co-hosts are available through messaging should a need arise, but there's not a "front desk" at our remote location. Think of this experience more like an authentic, quiet, old-school farmhouse stay.
CAUTION: the driveway entrance to the farm begins with a steep hill. We advise our guests to take it slowly and have had no troubles on it, but it is probably not suitable for oversized vehicles with large trailers or RV's, etc.
You'll have freedom and privacy to enjoy the farmhouse to yourselves during your stay. In the warmer months, there's a small chance you might see us out in the garden on occasion. If there is a question or a need arises, our team of co-hosts are available to help through messaging and calling.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
While there are a few neighbors nearby, the Farmhouse is tucked away and feels like a rural, remote getaway.

The house was very clean, the towels were fresh, and the hot tub was really clean and relaxing. We appreciated the small details like the farm eggs and the pancake mix.
Friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was all it was promised to be. Clean and tidy, the kitchen and dining room large and fun to just hang out in. We loved having the cows visit us while having breakfast. Would certainly stay again.

And again, another great stay at The Farmhouse in Thaxton, VA. We always enjoy the farm fresh eggs for breakfast and watch the deer as they graze in the meadow.
The hot tub on a cool rainy night is a plus when you truly need to unwind.
We'll be back again to our home away from home.

My wife and I really enjoyed your home. It was so peaceful and relaxing compared to where we live (NoVa). The hot tub was great and the animals and wildlife made the stay so much better. Sitting outside at night and listening to nature, especially the frogs, relieved all the stress of normal life. The house itself was amazing! I would love to know the history, We hope to come back next summer.
My friends and I really loved staying at the farmhouse! Everything was clean and the property had a lot to offer. We loved the farm fresh eggs and seeing all of the wildlife around the property. 10/10 recommend

We enjoyed hosting you, Sherry! We love hearing that our guests were able to unplug and relax. And heart-warming to hear you were able to get those special moments in with your grandson. Can't wait to host you again!
Having lived in Lynchburg for 18 years, we are very familiar with the area. We just wanted a quiet place to have our adult children and grandson join us for my husband’s bday celebration, and The Farmhouse fit the bill. The kitchen was great for cooking a bday meal and everyone was very comfortable in their sleeping accommodations. The beds were very comfortable! The hot tub was a bonus as well!

What a wonderful place to stay to get away from all the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. The house was fully stocked to meet all our needs while we stayed there for a long weekend. From the fresh eggs to all the neat decorations, it was so relaxing after our daily excursions. The hot tub was wonderful. Watching the animals in their elements was so cool. The property managers thought of everything to make our stay so enjoyable and relaxing. We had one of the best weekends. Such a neat place to stay.

About the host

Surrounded by mountains, a few fuzzy black cows, and numerous chickens, nothing offers me the quietude and peacefulness of arriving home to the farm. My husband and I, although still busy professionals, cherish our small farm and the life we have built here. Originally developed as a two-family farm, we have converted the farmhouse to a place for guests to come and share in what we consider to be a little corner of God's country.
