“Pet-Friendly Geneva Lake Cabins – Fire Pit, Private Units, Walk to Lakefront”
Dear Friends,
Staying at Harbor View feels like the best of both worlds: a cozy, woodsy-cabin retreat with modern comforts, while also putting you right where all the lakefront charm, outdoor adventure, and small-town Wisconsin hospitality converge. You wake up, maybe walk to the lake, enjoy a day of swimming or hiking or browsing local shops, come back to fire up a grill or relax on the deck — all without needing to drive far.
What makes our property truly unique is its blend of location, history, and the classic lake-cabin feeling that has become increasingly rare around Geneva Lake. Our family has owned and cared for this property since 1970, and over the decades we’ve welcomed multiple generations of returning guests who now think of this place as their “home away from home.” That sense of familiarity, warmth, and tradition is something you simply don’t find everywhere.
The property sits just 1,500 feet from the Geneva Lakefront, yet it still offers the peaceful character of a quiet neighborhood—close to the beach, marina, parks, restaurants, and the iconic lake path. Very few properties today remain this close to the lake while still preserving the original charm of the area: the cozy cabin feel, the woods, the sense of old-time lake living, and the slower pace that makes vacations memorable.
We also take pride in running this as a family business, not a corporate rental. Guests appreciate the personal touch, the long-standing relationships we’ve built, and the knowledge that they’re staying somewhere that has been loved and cared for over 50 years. It’s this combination of location, history, and genuine hospitality that makes our property stand out from the rest.

Jim was extremely good to work with. With any real estate its location, location, location! This location is great! And being able to have our pup there with us made it all the more special.
Had a great time in a quiet area. Walking distance to Geneva Lake. Owner was on sight and super friendly.

Overall the cabins are old and need alot of updating. Nice location close to everything. The cleanliness is decent but everything inside is poorly done as far as updating and repairs. Nice for a fishing cabin but not nice for a couples retreat. I would never stay there again. I will say the owner is a really good person.

We were in town for a family wedding weekend, and staying here was great. It’s clean and quiet. Nothing fancy, but all the things you need! Jim was super responsive to all questions. Would definitely recommend.
This was a great, clean option for wedding guests looking to avoid the high costs of the local resorts. The rooms are very basic, but clean and comfortable. Perfect if you plan to spend most of your time outside of the room. Jim was so easy to communicate with and made the stay enjoyable!

Jim was very accommodating. He even touched base with is the next day after we checked in to see if we needed anything. Wow !!! Nice clean unit close to it all. Had a great visit to Williams bay
My fiancé and I stayed here with another couple for a wedding in Lake Geneva. The location was great and the host was very welcoming and flexible. The two bedroom unit is two bedrooms with a connecting door (similar to a hotel). The kitchenette was fairly well stocked in our room, but we were missing paper towels. Cute rustic vibes overall!
We spent a few days in the area and this was the perfect place for us to stay. Our cabin was clean, comfortable and convenient. Our dog loved playing fetch in the big yard. We enjoyed taking walks in the neighborhood, letting the dog swim in the lake, sitting by a campfire and playing golf at Majestic Oaks.
Our host Jim was friendly and accommodating. In fact, we met lots of nice people while we were there. We will definitely be back for another visit!

Thank you Carolyn,
Yes we take pride in offering a very clean Cabin. Enjoyed meeting you and your family, I also look forward to your next visit!!
Cabin was clean and beds were good. We didn't use the kitchen - shower leaked but everything inside was clean. Outside area needed some love but we were early in the season and I'm sure weather was a factor. Lake area is very nice, ate at a few good restaurants, one recommend by Jim, one had homemade doughnuts! Cabin was good for the 3 of us and our daughters puppy.

The Corner Cabin is a clean but basic motel. The online description led us to believe that it was a small house, which it is not. It provides a simple resting place with a tiny kitchenette equipped with a hot plate, microwave, and a refrigerator with no ice. Decor and amenities are minimal.
The host is responsive and on the property. The grounds are grassy and nice for dogs. All in all the primary draw is walkability to Williams Bay’s downtown, beach and path around Lake Geneva.

This property is an old motel advertised as a cabin. It is run down and has a shared exterior with several others, not as depicted. The pictures are precise edits from their website, lakegenevaharborview. The showers were so small a child may have been able to comfortably shower without the curtain (which is in addition to the shower door) touching them. Notice the shower is not pictured. Now you know why. On our second night, we returned late from an event to no power for the rest of our stay. Bad weather happens, but a text or email from the on-premise staff would have been excellent. Maybe give us a heads-up that no candles or flashlights are available, and we should expect no power upon returning.
I'm not looking for 5-star amenities, but when you have a weekend that you look forward to for months, be sullied by this level of insincere advertising and customer service, it's just not how you should run a business. I will even deal with the faint smell of urine which Incan only guess is from dogs? Also, upon arriving the person greeting you will set the digital lock code and tell you the code. As you leave for the day, the feeling that you can't set your own code to gain entry isn't great. There are many other places to choose and if not buy a tent (it might have a bigger shower).

A Little History of Williams Bay & Harbor View
Williams Bay has been welcoming lake visitors for nearly two centuries. What began as a Potawatomi settlement and later a small pioneer community grew into one of Geneva Lake’s most loved resort villages, attracting families, boaters, and vacationers from Chicago and beyond.
Harbor View Motel & Cabins are part of that tradition. Our family has owned and cared for this property since 1970, during a time when Williams Bay was still filled with classic lake cabins, mom-and-pop motels, and long-time summer families. We’ve had the pleasure of hosting generations of returning guests—many who still come back year after year for the same reasons: the beach, the fishing, the lake walks, and the familiar shops and restaurants that make Williams Bay feel like home.
What makes Harbor View special is that it still reflects the old-time Lake Geneva era—where you’re close to the water, surrounded by trees, and part of a quiet neighborhood, yet just steps from everything that makes the village come alive in summer. In a region where many historic properties have been replaced by large developments, we’re proud to preserve a place that feels like the Geneva Lake families remember.
We’re grateful to share this piece of Williams Bay history with you and look forward to helping you create your own lake memories.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it represents everything we love about Williams Bay and Geneva Lake—a peaceful, walkable lakeside setting with deep roots and a true sense of community. Our family has been here since 1970, and over the years we’ve watched this area grow while still keeping the charm that makes people fall in love with it.
What makes this spot special is how close it is to the lakefront, beach, marina, and village shops, yet it still feels quiet and relaxed. You can walk to everything, enjoy the shoreline, grab ice cream, or take a stroll along the lake path, then come back to a calm neighborhood surrounded by trees and lake breezes. It’s that rare mix of convenience, character, and classic Geneva Lake charm that keeps guests—and generations of families—coming back year after year.
What makes this property unique
What truly sets our property apart is its rare combination of location, history, and classic Geneva Lake charm. Our family has owned and cared for Harbor View since 1970, and over the decades we’ve welcomed multiple generations of returning guests—many of whom now think of this place as their “home away from home.” That kind of connection and continuity is something you simply can’t recreate.
