Beautiful cozy cabin! The view from the deck and hot tub - phenomenal. There’s plenty of cute shops in town and hiking trails/water falls to explore. My only advice is to pack warm clothes - Davis WV is extremely cold.

Thank you for your stay. We hope you will return soon to Canaan Valley!
Overall good: hot tub was nice, beds were comfortable, kitchen was easy to use. Showers were a little weak, hand soap/toilet paper not fully provided. Power went out and the hosts responded quickly. Location was good and the lake was nice, was expecting a swimmable lake, unfortunately lots of geese poop but there were canoes and kayaks to use. Would stay again

There were ladybugs, both dead and alive all over the house, especially in the kitchen. They could’ve at least swept up the dead ones. Refrigerator not very clean. Dirty silverware in the drawer. The kitchen lacked a decent skillet. Smoke alarm beeping upon arrival, found in drawer in bedroom. Then found 2 others near the fireplace with batteries removed. Light bulbs needing replaced all over the house. Additional comfy seating and lamps would be appreciated in living room.
This was our second visit to this property - we love it!!! The view from the deck is spectacular, especially with the autumn leaves. We have truly enjoyed exploring the area and will be back!

We spent a great weekend at the cabin with friends. The house was perfectly set-up for 7 adults. We spent evenings cooking in the kitchen, making fires, and using the hot tub. The location was great and we loved being able to make the short drive to Dolly Sods.
Great property with small lake, stream and trails. Within 15 minutes of parks, restaurant's, and other activities. House is great, we will definitely use this place in the future...

Loved everything about this place - beautifully upkeep and close to town and hiking while still in the peaceful woods of Canaan Valley. Loved the private lake - tried a canoe for the first time! We’ll be back !

This house is beautiful with everything was arranged as depicted in the photos. The view was better than expected. It was a great space for two families, with two large common areas and four bathrooms, and conveniently located to hiking and skiing locations.
There was a minor leak in the downstairs bathroom that I am sure the property managers will fix soon.

The view from the living room was fantastic and the kitchen area was spacious. A downside to the giant windows in the living room is the constant sunlight coming in and heating up the space (thermostat read 90F around 12 pm). The hot tub was a nice addition to the property. There are also great trails in the area that are worth checking out.

My family of 4 enjoyed this property for 5 nights. The property was just as described and we found it comfortable and clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The property was convenient to the Dolly Sods trailheads and Blackwater Falls, where we spent most of our time hiking. Returning each afternoon to the hot tub overlooking Mirror Lake was a great way to end each day. Pool table was fun for rainy days, although one pool cue had to be shared because all the others were broken. We hope to return soon in order to see more of this beautiful area and would hope to stay here again.

Pros: The view, having air, allowing pets, and being on a secluded road. Cons: The house needs lots of TLC. Cracks on dish ware, couches on main floor need to be replaced, bed sheets and covers have little holes, Jack and Jill bathroom the floor is damp and plaster coming off wall.

Canaan stay
Check in was only problems, house wasnt ready the beds or sweeping was 5:30 pm actually left and came back to not be in anyones way. Need another nice couch to sit on for families get a vacuum that hose isnt all busted so guest can sweep if they choose to some of us doesnt like anything on our clean socks vacuum is needed the decks was amazing over-all we enjoyed our time with our family hot tub jets are broke do not blow but you have hot water to sit in cleaning staff was very nice trying their best short staffed
Great views, good location, plenty of space for our 2 families (4 adults/ 4 kids/ 3 dogs). Nice little hiking trail to take the dogs for a walk before heading to the slopes.
It’s lived in - and what we expected. Basement was cold, upstairs very warm. Cleaning crew was still there until 8pm when check in was at 4. Certainly friendly and apologetic, but it was a bit of a drag when you just want to bring in your gear after a drive. Despite that - it served our needs and we would stay again.

Accurate description and great location, very nice view from the main living area. Small issues around the house that came up and they dealt with it promptly: i.e battery on smoke alarm needed replacement, a piece of roof siding coming off due to high winds. The only thing I didn't anticipate is that it wouldn't be child friendly for our 2 and 4 year old (counter seating only which was too high, downstairs heater gas based and somewhat exposed, exposed ledge going down the stairs).
We visited the Davis area for my brother's wedding and stayed for a long weekend to enjoy the area. Uncle Wade's cabin was fantastic! The view from the porch is exactly as the pictures show. The windows on the entire front of the cabin give amazing views from the kitchen and living room. The cabin seems so much larger once you are inside, especially the basement with pool table and 2 extra bathrooms. Kitchen was well stocked for making meals. Hot tub was pristine. Compared to other family members that rented cabins in developments/ski villages, Uncle Wade's cabin was much more secluded and private. Very convenient to drop off trash at the Canaan Realty office, as it is less than a quarter mile away. Would certainly stay here again when visiting the area in the future.

Our family enjoyed staying so close to the area's winter/snow activities. The cabin was easily accessible from the road and had plenty of parking. After digging it out from the snow, we enjoyed the hot tub. The cabin's furnishings were less than adequate - wobbly dining table, uncomfortable chairs, one sofa, soiled carpets and rugs, poor tv picture, low water pressure, etc. We were surprised that none of the snow was removed from the deck area to be able to use the amenities without spending time and energy to remove the large amount of snow accumulated. One inexpensive snow shovel was provided, but the amount of snow was too much for the plastic shovel. I'm sure we will come back to this area and may use this management company but we wont book this cabin again.
The house was perfect for a family gathering to ski over a holiday weekend. The living space and kitchen were comfortable for a large group to cook, eat, and play games in the evenings. The second common area with pool table was great overflow for kids. The location was very convenient to multiple ski resorts, making back and forth driving extremely low stress. The bedding/carpet was dated, but the house was clean. 12" of snow during our stay was promptly plowed. The view was perfect. There was a maintenance issue making one of the bathrooms unusable during our stay. Additionally, the cleaners had left bagged dirty linens and trash in a few locations around the house (it had clearly been well cleaned and looked as if these bags were forgotten). While these issues were inconvenient on check-in, the host was extremely responsive and issued a credit for the inconvenience. We would happily return to this house for future Canaan Valley visits.
