Our family had a wonderful time during our stay in the Sonora area. The home was beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed the views of wildlife through the numerous windows. We plan to return sometime in the near future.
Had a great time with the family at this home! Home is REALLY stocked with everything you need. Clean, comfortable, close to downtown, Murphy's, and a nearby New Melones boat launch. Will be back again! Thanks!
This beautiful home was the perfect place to spend family time together. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you would need to cook up a nice meal. The furnishings and beds were super comfortable. We enjoyed the cozy fireplace and games as well. It’s conveniently located near Sonora, Columbia, Murphys, and Lake Melones. The grounds are beautiful with lots of wildlife around. I really could not have imagined a better place for our special family gathering.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. We stayed between Christmas and New Year’s and it was an awesome location to enjoy time with family (3 generations) away from all the distractions. The living room is spacious and bright, with large windows that frame nice views of the surrounding area. The kitchen is well-equipped with modern appliances and ample counter space, making it a pleasure to prepare meals. The house was clean and comfortable, and we appreciated the many amenities provided, including towels, linens. The location was also convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions. Safeway and Walmart are only 15 minutes away. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
This was our first time staying at this property and will be coming back again!
Highlights:
-House very clean and cared for
-Ample parking for multiple vehicles and boat trailers
-Everything as advertised in description
-House being a little off the beaten path meant silent nights and sounds of nature at sunrise and sunset.
-We had cool warm weather and the A/C kept up very well in both floors and all rooms.
This is the perfect vacation get-away if you're looking to get a feel of the old California countryside with tons of hiking, boating and other outdoor adventures all located nearby. The home is maintained in immaculate and new condition, with tons of space on a large pastoral property in the foothills near Yosemite and Stanislaus National Forest. This was our second stay at this property -- two years in a row, and we enjoyed it just as much the second time. The owners are great to work with, too! Highly recommend!

Christmas Memories Made!
Our multi-generational family thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful home over the Christmas break! From the moment we arrived to our departure, the house felt like home. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and there was plenty of comfortable bedding provided. The kitchen had plenty of space to cook our Christmas dinner and all the pots, pans, etc... were provided. The porches were a wonderful place to relax and read and the beautiful views framed by the windows in the house made us feel like we were in the middle of nowhere. The entire family had space to spread out as well as spend time together in the family room putting together puzzles, playing games, opening presents, and reading.
The location could not have been better! We visited all the local towns (Murphy, Angel Camp, Sonora and Jamestown) and spent time fishing at New Melones Lake.
The house was more than we expected and we spent the last day figuring out when we could all come back!

A beautiful home that comes just as advertised!
We’ve had a lot of different opportunities to rent through VRBO and this was one of the nicest and most well-appointed homes we’ve stayed in. The photos of the furnishings are not staged and you will find the home exactly as it’s been depicted on the VRBO site.
3 very comfortable bedrooms and a great room that easily fit the 6 adults and two infant grandchildren that spent the Christmas holiday together. The kitchen was fabulous and contained all the cookware you could ever want, from a simple meal to a gourmet feast.
The property is rural, but the home feels anything but… except that you really do get to enjoy cows grazing just outside the dining room windows. It was a real treat for the grand kids to get to see up close and not a bother for the older folks at all.
Lots to explore within minutes of the home, including a restored mining town in nearby Columbia State Park, as well as the town of Sonora with it’s easy to walk “downtown.”
One note for future travelers is that while the home does in fact have a TV, it does not have cable service, so you’re limited to using the TV more as a monitor for a laptop than an actual TV. The home does offer wireless Internet service though so in today’s world you can likely just stream whatever show it was you wanted to watch anyway. (That said, it was kind of nice not to have a TV on in the background and I’d say the lack of cable TV went largely un-noticed.)
It was quite chilly while we were there, dropping into the 20’s in the morning, but with two different temperature zones controlled by their own thermostats, one upstairs and one downstairs, it was always quite comfortable inside. I’d assume the same would be true for the summer months, as central air conditioning is available as well
Definitely a home we’d stay in again.

Beautiful Home
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We made use of all the bedrooms and used the well thought out kitchen for our meals. Very nicely decorated and comfortable furnishings. We sat on the porch swing and enjoyed morning coffee, and used the BBQ for dinner. Lots of games and books to entertain. It was a warm weekend but the house was always comfortable, upstairs bedrooms were separately controlled. Lots of cool towns to explore nearby. Definitely would stay again.
