Open, elegant comfortable—best location ever! House is on Talkeetna’s "Lower East Side"— far enough from downtown to be quiet for sleeping, close enough to be where "it's all happening.”
You’ll get the entire house to yourself, 2 bedrooms, upscale kitchen and full bath. Bathroom features sunburst tile and corner soaker tub (no Jacuzzi), with soothing bath salts and oils for a relaxing getaway. Living room has persian rugs and Flat TV with ROKU (Smart TV - free movies and programming) as well as extensive video library. Local owner with a background in aviation and mountaineering. Quiet neighborhood. Kid toys, tub toys, games, umbrella stroller, kid’s jungle gym outside. Ample parking (4 cars) and yard with contained firepit and sanded logs for an authentic sit down. :)

Great little house, there were four of us

We enjoyed our stay, everything was clean, and communication was great with Sandra. It was about a 15-minute walk to Talkeetna. We would rent again if we were going to Talkeetna.

Well equipped VRBO with outstanding host

The house was set up extremely well for a family and all of the details were very appreciated. The little things made the difference...the spices, the detailed handbook, and access to washer/dryer. Highly recommended for a family stay or for a set of friends.

Perfect Talkeetna stop

We had a wonderful time in Talkeetna. The house was so perfect that I wish we had planned for a longer trip. The bird feeders we filled and plenty of birds stopped by. We loved walking to downtown for food and drinks. I don’t know if it was the long hikes, but the bed was super comfortable.

Fantastic Find in Talkeetna!

This property exceeded our expectations! The pictures don’t do it justice. It is very well kept, clean, comfortable and they have thought of everything to make you happy there. I wish every VRBO were like this house. Close to town and train depot but far enough away there is privacy. Great communication with owner. I would highly recommend it and will come back next time we are in Talkeetna. Thank you!

Home away from home + close to everything + peaceful

Stayed overnight. Owner wonderful- responsive, super easy to work with, & nice. Home is nice - like staying at a friends for the weekend. Comfortable, everything you need, kids walked in and were immediately comfortable. Can walk to downtown. Home itself is on quiet street so peaceful. Plenty of space to park too. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend it if you are passing through Talkeetna or if you are visiting the area & need a home to base your explorations from.

Cozy house in the woods

We stopped here on our way between Fairbanks and Anchorage. The host was awesome with communicating and how they have the house supplied with everything you need was a treat. The directions to the house were good and the check in process was easy. Very relaxing place in the woods. We walked downtown when we arrived and bought some local craft items to remember our stay. It was my wife and my first trip to Alaska, and we brought our two granddaughters along to let them see the last frontier.

Perfect!!

Clean. Cozy, comfortable and convenient! My husband and I stayed here with our 4 children. Plenty of room. Lovely amenities. Sweet extras like gourmet coffee, spices, condiments, food staples, luxury bathing products, otc medicines. So quiet and yet an easy walk into center of Talkeetna. Hosts are gracious and accommodating. Thank you !!

Perfect Little Big House in Talkeetna

Perfect space for our two families! Total of 7 slept comfortably (4 adults and 3 kids). They had everything! Even some games. Bathroom was well stocked with essentials as was the kitchen. The rooms were very comfortable and had black out curtains. Property had a great bonfire set up in the outdoor area with wood. The location was perfect as well - close to downtown Talkeetna. We have a super fun 4th of July! Truly a gem. Thank you!

House was brand new in 2008 - it's beautiful and has been full of joy all it's life. My husband and I work in Antarctica every Austral Summer for 8 years. We are home in Talkeetna during the summer months and are currently building our dream home "off the grid" about 12 miles outside Talkeetna. We are happy to help you with local intel, advice and arranging tours if you need. I have been in Alaska since is was 3 years old in 1968 (you do the math!) and have worked in tourism since I was 14 and am happy to help you with tips and tricks of travelling Alaska! Hope you decide to visit Talkeetna !

It's big - it's quiet yet located conveniently to the downtown area (3 blocks) and the air taxi's (2 blocks)... Memory Foam Mattresses and a quiet location for an amazing sleep experience. Also, smart tv, extensive movie and book library.
