129-2 Updated Oceanview Retreat in Puamana

Our gorgeous ocean view unit is located in Puamana, a 30-acre gated community on the south end of Lahaina. While the area is recovering from the devastating fires, Puamana remains a peaceful and resilient retreat, offering a collection of charming townhomes along a sunny beach that was once part of a sugar plantation. Our townhome is centrally located within Puamana.

Unfortunately, the historic clubhouse and some amenities were lost to the fire. Despite this, Puamana still offers a truly unique island experience and the perfect place to unwind and relax. A complete renovation of the spectacular Ocean Pool was completed in October 2025, offering guests a one-of-a-kind setting right at the water’s edge with breathtaking views of the Pacific. The Dolphin Pool is also open and available for use.

Lahainatown, a historic and beloved part of Maui, was severely impacted by the fires. While most of the town was tragically lost, the surrounding areas are beginning the process of rebuilding and other parts of the island remain accessible for exploring.

Unit 129-2 unit is fully equipped with a washer/dryer, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, wireless Internet, TVs in the living room and bedroom, a stereo system, and BBQ. The kitchen includes a stove, microwave, and dishwasher for your convenience. The bedroom features a king-sized bed, and the living area offers a sleeper sofa. There are two full bathrooms to accommodate your stay. The private lanai is the perfect spot for dining outdoors and enjoying the peaceful tropical surroundings.

Amazing Stay!

This unit was a fantastic place to stay for our small family of three. It had everything we needed. Wonderful grassy area in back to play and right near the pool. The front Lanai was also lovely with wonderful ocean views! Would stay here again and would definitely recommend Puamana as a wonderful place to stay right near Lahina town!

Beautiful Location/Great Amenities

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay here. It was a quick 2 minute walk to the beach. The location is very close to downtown Lahaina, which made food options endless. The neighborhood was very quiet with beautiful trees and flowers. The wifi was very fast and the kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed that there were 2 bathrooms and laundry in unit. Would definitely stay here again!

Paradise in Lahaina!

Unit was as described. Convenient to many activities, management team responded quickly to a TV issue we caused ourselves. 🤣 Area was quiet, well cared for and secure. We would rent again if we get back to Maui.

Great location!!

Could not ask for a better location in Puamana or on Maui overall. Previous review have mentioned that the kitchen and bathrooms are old and this is true. But, everything was clean and the furnishings/kitchen supplies have all been updated. Great deal in an exclusive area.

Love the view of this condo, the condo could use a up date drapes are old and dirty bedroom bathroom could use new up grades shower door didn’t stay closed,Don’t want to be picky did like the newer furniture in the living room and all the gear outside was great,in saying all this would stay here again.thanks

Amazing neighborhood, cute spot, very clean, a little tired

I love this neighborhood on Maui, it feels like a hollywood set in the best way. Quaint with unbelievable views of the mountains and ocean. This unit was exactly as expected, very clean, hand had beach equipment to borrow. The unit itself is a little tired and could use a tiny bit of love (and maybe some shampoo/conditioner?), but I’d gladly stay here again, and will definitely look for APVR rentals in the future as well. Mahalo!

Quiet and beautiful, just across the street from Ocean

What can we say…WOW!!! From the moment we arrived on the property we were in love! We were located just across the street from the ocean and the swimming pool was just to the back of us. The unit was very clean upon arrival and was perfect for the two of us. It was supplied with everything we needed. Take a walk to the ocean out the front door and turn around, the view of the mountains is just breathtaking! We will definitely be coming back in the future and will want to stay in the same unit. Thank you Dave for allowing us the use of your unit!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this condo as it had everything we wanted and needed. The sunny front patio had an amazing view of the ocean and we could see the whales jumping and the sun setting from the lounge chairs or the table where we ate meals. The back patio also had a table, gas grill and chairs and was more private and shady with a quick jaunt to the pool. It even included a cooler, beach chairs, umbrella and plenty of towels and kitchen items plus the bed was comfy. We would rent this again in a heartbeat.

The condo needed a screen above the sink, the kitchen faucet is about to fall off, there were no coverings on the doors and lots of bugs because the condo isn’t tight.

Heaven at Puamana !

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my 4th visit in a row to 129-2, although the unit is very dated it is in a nice location, close to the Ocean pool and Clubhouse. The kitchen has what you need, there are ample beach chairs and towels.The staff is on it should a problem arise. The unit needs all new area rugs and the curtains were replaced. There is alot to do within walking distance to Lahaina, a Sunday street faire and lots of places to eat breakfast/lunch and dinner.We will return next year for another nice visit.

Puamana never disappoints!

You will love this awesome Puamana community! The grounds, pools, clubhouse are great. The unit has new appliances, fabulous towels, linens, infinite amount of kitchen utensils, Sonos sound system and enough good hangers! Yay! Communication w host was good. To rate 5 stars, I’d love to see updated bathrooms, a step stool in the kitchen (cabinets are super high), Saran Wrap or foil or ziplock bags. Furniture has changed and updated photos would also be appreciated. Would be nice to be offered a little welcome bag of Kona coffee and a walking map of the area to take along. Don’t hesitate to book Maui Adventures for activities and book restaurant reservations well in advance. Overall a great place to stay on Maui!

Our stay in 129-2; 10 nites 12-26-22 to 1-5-23

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the security of APVR, however once outside, did not feel secure. Firecrackers (2x) were thrown from cars at us near Lahaina; many homeless people in Lahaina, and town is starting to look shabby. The noise level on highway is very loud, with racing vehicles, loud vehicles, etc., so we thought it was funny that we told to NOT beep our car - insignificant - compared to the road noise. Our front door screen door, would not close not latch. There was a dead cockroach in the kitchen. All the West facing windows had NO window coverings - thus, a person in the Kitchen, hall and both bathrooms could be easily seen from outside. I bought tension rods, and put-up my own curtains, which I removed upon leaving. The unit 1Bd, 2Ba was perfect size for us, and neat and clean. The bathtub was VERY slippery, and needs a rubber mat; I placed wash clothes, to avoid slipping. The maintenance workers came twice in 10 days, and again, their blowers are VERY loud.

Gated Community close to stoney beach

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 129-2 Garden Oceanview had everything we need to explore Maui + it was very close to Lahaina and therefore it's super convenient. We read the reviews left by previous guests and therefore we prepared and nothing was too much of a surprise. We actually booked 1 night too long and the owners kindly refunded some of the money for that final day we weren't there. Notes: The decor is a bit tired and it's probably in need of modernising a bit. The cleaners let the owners down a bit as there was some parts that weren't too clean when we arrived. There were snorkels, sea shoes, paddles etc in a cupbaord in the yard but they werre all slung in there, many covered in sand and untidy, so we didnt feel like rummaging through them all. The BBQ didn't have any gas left so we bought some steaks for the BBQ and had to grill them in the end in the kitchen - the owners brought gas a day or two after. The aircons are dated and loud, so we needed ot use a fan inthe night as the aircon kept us awake. Postitives: Internet is good Peaceful setting. Nice community. Can stroll down to the beach easily. Good facilities.

Wonderful stay at Puamana

The 1 bedroom 2 bath unit was wonderful and had everything we could ask for to have a fabulous vacation. The place was well stocked with everything, very comfortable and extremely clean. We would rent this unit again in a heartbeat. Directly across from the beach access as well and a 3 minute walk to the fantastic ocean pool.

These are older construction so the kitchen could stand to be updated, but everything worked fine and it was decently stocked. Furniture was upgraded and the space felt nice. Maui was in some sort of drought (bummer) so there was a little ant problem, but hosts were responsive and they weren't like CA ants.
