"Hale Maluhia" - Cottage with expansive ocean views in central Kailua Kona.

Enjoy our hosted private 1 bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom accommodations. Beautifully detailed with a king size bed, tv, wireless internet, laundry, closet, and large covered lanai. Everything my mom needs for her month long stays with our family!

The large lanai (covered deck) has 2 outdoor seating areas including a BBQ, dining table and chairs. Cool breezes in the evening make it the perfect place to enjoy an ocean view sunset.

This bedroom was built next to our house for my mother to stay several times a year. The details are exquisite; from granite or Koa countertops and shelves, to antique Indonesian doors and artwork by local artists. You will experience Hawaii in its beauty!

The location on our property has gorgeous views of the sweeping valley below all the way to the ocean. It is surrounded by lush greenery and is only minutes to Kailua Kona town or historic Holualoa.

We welcome you to this peaceful place to enjoy Hawaii.

From the minute we arrived at this charming, well-kept cottage, we knew we had lucked out. The view is stunning—and my husband and I spent some of the happiest hours of our trip sitting on the deck, sipping Kona coffee (thank you, Esther!), and listening to birdsong.

What a beautiful and relaxing place to stay! The view was spectacular and the back deck was perfect for meals, working or just relaxing. It was great to stay in a neighborhood a little bit away from the main resorts and hotels. Owner was very kind to let us check in early due to a flight change too. We would definitely return!

Great place to stay on the Big Island

My wife and I loved this place. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is easily accessible in the hills just above Kona with a beautiful view from the lanai. Very homey and just the right size for two people. If we someday return to the Big Island this is where we would stay.

Ester was a fantastic host, and everything about the cottage was exactly as described—and more.The amenities made our stay incredibly comfortable, and the cottage itself is thoughtfully designed down to every detail. From the artwork and beautiful design touches to the high-quality linens and furnishings, everything felt intentional, welcoming, and special. This property is unique in that it feels like you are tucked away in the country, but it is right in Kailua Kona. You will probably see horse, cows, chickens, and turkeys on most days and whales from the lanai in the winter months. We love living here!
