CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER FEATURES VIEWPOINT! ("12 Beautiful Lake Houses You Can Rent on Airbnb") VIEWPOINT - Lutsen, Minnesota: No offense to the other Airbnbs on this list, but this Minnesota home has every single one beat when it comes to lake views. The eight enormous windows in the living room, dining room, and kitchen—which feature a wood-burning fireplace and stunning wood, leather, and hide furniture and rugs—let ton of light in, along with sweeping views of the glittering Lake Superior. The northernmost option on this list, you'll find this four-bedroom home is about two hours north of Duluth, Minnesota. (Lutsen is actually a must-stop on our go-to Minnesota road trip, if you need trip planning tips.) With wood paneling throughout, ultra-cozy bedrooms, and a collection of records we are dying to leaf through, it's a no-brainer—even if the lake isn't accessible right off the back porch (there's a pretty steep cliff face). -Meredith Carey (May 15, 2020)

Gorgeous location on Lake Superior. So cozy, comfortable, clean and well stocked. Lots of books, games and albums to enjoy. Near numerous hiking trails and charming small towns along the North Shore. Excellent communication with host. Couldn’t have been happier. (September 2025)
Great location. Nice view of lake and Comfortable accommodations. Close to grocery store. Golf course. Lutsen mountain. Well supplied and excellent communication with owner. She provided detail instructions and was very accommodating. We would rent it again in future
Beautiful home and location for three generations- our retreat while racing and crewing the superior 50 mile. Spectacular views, comfortable, and relaxing for all.
We can to Lutsen for the first time to ski and get away for a bit before school started again. We had a wonderful time at the property, loved the games, fireplace and record player. It was great for our group.
My 50th birthday party with my husband and friends and the place could not have been more beautiful! It’s gorgeous and the rooms are perfect for multiple couples. The beds were amazing! The views are incredible. Would stay again six out of five!!
The property was great, exactly as advertised and perfect for the seven of us. We had a wonderful time with great views off Lake Superior! The property was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the large kitchen table and especially the old vinyl record collection of music at our disposal. A regular blast from the past!
You just cant beat the scenic lakefront that Viewpoint has to offer. The decor and amenities just add to the experience. Our favorite part of the stay was the access to the rocks overlooking the lake. After staying here with 6 adults, I do think the cabin is best suited for a party of that size. 8 adults might feel a little cramped. We would definitely return!
We were looking to spend the week with our adult children with my parents who both turned 80 this year. The house was perfect and exactly as advertised. Plenty of activities for all age groups. Very conveniently located. The kids loved the board games and records in the evenings. We hiked and kayaked during the day. Highly recommend!

Diane and her family were great guests. Clear and friendly communication throughout, I would recommend Diane to any host.
Most comfortable beds ever. Well stocked kitchen. Lovely open floor plan. Fabulous library! Finding a guitar and bongos was a huge plus. Moon rise through the huge picture windows or the deck was magical. Thank you!
We were so happy to be at this beautiful lakeside home for our girls weekend! The view was unbeatable, never dreamed we would be that close to the water. Loved the well appointed kitchen, plenty of space for 5 to stretch out and sleep, and the turntable with MANY albums. We took turns spinning the records at night, so fun! We were close to many great hiking trails and took advantage. This is a gem!
This home is located in a very private, scenic setting with dramatic views not to disappoint. Even if it were raining, the wall to wall views from the main living space would be as enjoyable as if you were sitting on the deck; you are that close. The cute bedrooms upstairs have windows that allow you to see the stars and the moon. You also can hear the crashing waves of Lake Superior. The master bedroom has a small deck and a window with Lake Superior views also. The beds were very comfortable. There is a nice, large solid wood table that our group sat around to enjoy meals...also with views, of course! The wood burning fireplace was wonderful and there was plenty of wood supplied.
The kitchen was VERY well stocked with glasses and barware, dishes, pots and pans etc..... one of the best stocked we have seen in our many vacation rental experiences. The game room was larger than we thought and the electronic darts game provided a lot of fun entertainment. There is a futon bed in that room. In the living room, we would have preferred a larger TV with a cable or satellite connection rather than the Roku but we made it work. Images show a fire ring down on the rocks which it wasn't. It actually was located up on the lawn; though still with excellent views of Lake Superior. You can walk down onto the rocks, but need to be careful, as it is somewhat sloped, with a sizable drop off to the lake. But what can you expect... Viewpoint IS on the edge of paradise! We would not hesitate to stay here again.
The expansive views are what make this place special. Close to gorgeous hiking trails. We loved the Adirondack chairs on the deck, and the long beautiful dining table for family meals. Make sure to take in the night sky while here—because this area has no light pollution, the night sky is dazzling.
We loved the open living, dining and kitchen arrangement that all faced the lake with large windows. The cabin is located centrally in Lutsen-close to Lockport, Fika, and Lutsen Mountain. It's a great starting point for exploring on up the shore as well as the trails in this area.
