About this property
Elegant, FREE BIKES dog-friendly downtown apart.
This huge pet-friendly apartment in a beautiful historic house is located only two blocks from the heart of the Old Town and is sanitized between all guests . You will love the first floor spacious bedroom with a very comfortable king-size bed, sofa, and access to the back yard, as well as the large and elegant living room and a full kitchen. Borrow our bikes to roam around town. There is one guaranteed parking space. Pet fee is $40 per dog per stay (max of 2 dogs).
This is a wonderful first floor apartment. There is a renovated galley kitchen with ample pots/pans and dishes to do any cooking you might want to. The living room has a queen size sofa bed. The gigantic main bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed with tons of pillows. It has floor-to-ceiling windows and beautiful shutters. You have direct access to the back yard. The huge new bathroom is complete with large tiled shower with glass doors and full-size washer/dryer. All the toiletries are included.
You'll love the front porch - it's where a lot of our guests hang out at the end of the day with a glass of wine. It's nice to be outside once it cools off a bit, and on the weekend, you can hear the music from downtown.
********** We actively encourage our guests to purchase travel insurance.
We will only refund the booking for a hurricane threat if an evacuation is ordered in the area by the State of Florida. We experience threats nearly every other week during hurricane season, that rarely amount to anything.
Contracted Covid? That's why you need to purchase insurance. It will cover your booking reimbursement, and we hope you have a speedy recovery.
Your apartment is completely separate. You enter in the main door, and there are four apartments (two upstairs, two downstairs) in this part of the building. You have free use of the shared back yard, which has picnic tables and other seating, charcoal bbq grills and the shared bicycles, along with a funky pedicab where one of you can bike the spoiled person around. Flashing lights included!
We have a wonderful property manager who is available to answer any questions or provide any missing things. Can't find a corkscrew? Missing facecloths? They're all supposed to be there - just ask and if it's anything we can provide, we will. We want all of our guests to have a five star experience and it all starts by communication! We're also fully available by email or text. It's just that we're traveling too! We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance in case your plans change.
This is an interesting neighborhood. We're located right across the street from Ketterlinus Elementary school, so during recess time, you definitely hear the sound of the children, but it means it's pretty quiet at night. There's not a lot of street noise.
It's fun to sit outside on weekend nights and hear the music from downtown, but you don't hear it in the house.
We're in a neighborhood called Flagler's Model Land. Most of the houses in the neighborhood were built in the 1800's and some are very charming. Most of the area was originally owned by Henry Flagler, who played an important part of the growth of St. Augustine. Flagler College is also just a couple of blocks away.
We're a few minute walk to The Social Lounge and The Barley Republic, if you're looking for a drink. The food at The Barley Republic is very Irish and very tasty. Just a bit further and you get to our absolute favorite restaurant: Thai House & Sushi on Hypolita. Don't let the outside fool you with those ugly orange chairs. The food and the sushi is top notch, creative and delicious. Tell them Lindsey sent you!
We are less than two blocks from a trolley stop next to the Wax Museum, which most visitors to St. Augustine like to use to explore the city.
You are always welcome to park on the street in front of the house if there is room. If there's no parking, you also will have ONE assigned spot behind the property. Directions to the parking will be provided with your check-in instructions.
If you have a second car, we do have overflow parking for possibly one extra car on a first come, first serve basis. Parking permit is required.
For longer trips around, Uber, taxis and pedicabs are readily available.
This is a wonderful old house, but these old houses weren't built with the same soundproofing that houses are now, so you may hear some noise. Events and parties are not allowed as a result. We allow pets, which you need to know if you have severe allergies.

Great location, and very comfortable. The property was impeccably clean, and well supplied with everything you need. We met the owners while there, and they are very kind. Check-in / check out was simple and exactly matched the instructions provided We will stay here again.
Very easy to get along with. We had some requests during our stay and the management was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay hear again and I recommend the property for stays in the area.
Property manager Gina was excellent. Location of the property was very convenient for walking to historic downtown. Kitchen supplies were a little weak. Interior decor was charming. Noise from school across the street and noise from second floor guests was a downside at times.
We loved staying at this property. The apartment was spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for the two of us and our two dogs. We even pulled out the small rollaway (covered it) and put it at the end of the bed for our dogs to sleep on. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The house is located at the edge of the historic district well within walking distance to everything and there were great restaurants right down the road. We did have difficulty knowing which apartment was ours as there is nothing on the doors indicating the number. It was great to have a designated parking spot behind the property as the parking along the street was always full.
The location is perfect, just a short walk to restaurants, shopping. We never moved our car once we got there, walked everywhere! The host was extremely responsive. The apartment is over the top beautiful, comfortable and very charming. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again when we are in St. Augustine.
Check in was easy, property is clean with everything needed. Love the quiet neighborhood while still being walking distance to dowtown/ dining/ tourist attractions. Thank you.
We stayed here for a weekend getaway with another couple. It was nice and convenient to the downtown area. The bikes were a very nice thing to have getting around town and the owners were easy to communicate with.
Very spacious and comfortable. Beautiful house and location. The owners put a lot of thought and effort into this place. Beautiful back yard and accommodations.

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Overall a decent stay. Stayed on the ground floor. Was definitely a little noisy between the guests upstairs and the ins/outside of the loud front door. I ended up leaving a day early because my dog got sick.
Had a wonderful visit at this beautiful property right near everything in St Augustine. Very clean and spacious, comfy bed, and no noise issues despite the property being pet friendly and other visitors around us. Everything was just as described, no issues to report.
Truly enjoyed our stay. The property is exactly as described in the listing. Location is awesome and within walking distance to the charming St. George St area. Having the bikes was fabulous as we biked everywhere. The orders are super nice and very responsive!
We had an amazing time and we could not have asked for a better location.
Super clean and very roomy!

We love to travel ourselves, and spend much of our time at other AirBnB properties. We are always finding ideas on how to make the stay for our guests more enjoyable. We travel with our dog, Scout and go all over the world with her, and have now added a Peruvian playmate for her - the crazy Bandido.
Why they chose this property
This property is so well located. We bought this property because we love old homes and we love renovating them. We spent two long years on this house, but the results are worth it. It turned out to be a beautiful home and I'm sure you will enjoy it.
What makes this property unique
The unique part about this home is that you not only have a first class apartment, you can also get outside and enjoy the weather when it's cooler. It includes the use of the back yard with bbq grills and plenty of seating to just hang out. There are first-come, first-serve bicycles that you are welcome to use to explore town during the day. It's so close to walk that we rarely take the bikes ourselves, but it's great to explore farther afield.
