Charming Island Chalet, Big Kitchen, Relax, Quiet Forest Setting, Starry Nights

Welcome to my charming island home in the wooded Pacific Northwest! I invite you to settle in, get comfortable and make yourself at home. It is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Stargaze on a clear night as there is no light pollution. The property is a very safe place with few neighbors and places to explore. The house is not shared with anyone, it will be all to yourselves.

Both bedrooms have Roku or Apple TV, comfortable queen sized beds and cozy linens, dressers, full sized closets and a view of the trees in the forest with private doors to the back deck with chairs, patio set and hammock. My home and property are very clean with lots of light and is comfortably furnished. The loft is not a ailanle for yuest use at this time

The house has a full kitchen. Coffee, coffee maker, tea and condiments are provided along with some breakfast items and snacks. No cable or satellite, but the wifi is very good.

Harstine Island has a bridge and is less than an hour from Olympia, 1.5 hrs to SEATAC airport and 1.75 hrs to Seattle, less than 1 hr to the Bremerton ferry and about 2+ hrs to the west coast beaches or Portland.

The house is close to the Olympic mountains for hiking, Lake Cushman for kayaking or to go boating or sailing in the Puget Sound. There are some nice golf courses in the area. The air is clean and crisp, there are lots of birds, we're close to the state park and cove. The property has a summer vegetable garden, apples and blackberries in the fall, a winter creek in my private park, and two decks. The fire ring may be used when there is no burn ban in effect. Fireworks are never permitted.

The town of Shelton is about 20 mins. away and has some fun festivals throughout the year. There are some things to do on the island and there is a farmer's market on Saturdays from May to early Oct. There is a great supermarket, quaint restaurants, shopping and antique stores in downtown. About 8 minutes away are some restaurants and gas. The closest restaurant is casual has a great lake view, bar and pool tables.

My place is NOT handicap accessible and it is not childproof. Only babies that are not walking or crawling and kids 12+ allowed. Infants are not counted as an extra guest. Please bring your own pack and play. No pets, extra guests, weddings or events, please. Cigarette, cigar, marijuana smoking or vaping or is not allowed in the house. You must be checking in and staying with your group (no 3rd party booking.) I am on the property in another building occasionally for some work. If there is anything you need, I am always available to help.

Immaculate cottage, comfortable and private. Beautiful woods . For over a week I was alone in cottage and at last four days girlfriends joined me. I felt so safe while I was alone and my friends absolutely loved the cottage. Our hostess was beyond words. If I had a question I texted her and had immediate response. I have stayed in VRBOs across the nation and this was the cleanest and most comfortable I have ever encountered. A plus was the beautiful kitchen outfitted with every appliance you needed. I positively will stay there again! Excellent WiFi and computer reception.. the grounds are beyond words!,,,

Cozy home in the woods

Spotless, lovely home among the trees. Home is spotless and well appointed. Lori is wonderful to work with and she has thoughtfully outfitted the kitchen with everything you need.

We enjoyed our stay. It was very quiet as we hoped for. Good communication with owner. Just come prepared if you want to stay in. The next grocery is 30min away. On our way out, we found an amazing bakery that’s only 10 min away. It’s called Olympic Bakery and Deli.

Peaceful location

Very nice, clean home on a quiet country road with acreage and large lawn. House was very comfortable and well stocked and organized. Great front and rear decks overlooking large lawn and chicken coop. We really enjoyed the property and location close to the state park. The power did go out the last morning and couldn’t contact the owner. Turns out the power company was working on the line so we left early.

The place that has everything

Cooking was made a breeze with all the supplies, seasonings, all the extras that made cooking there so much easier. Coffee for the Keurig was supplied as well.. The beds were so comfortable slept solid all the way through, better than my beds at home. the place was so peaceful I could be outside, enjoying my coffee and not worried about anything interrupting my quiet. Lori responded quickly with all of my questions. I look forward to staying here again! this is definitely one of my favorite places that I’ve been to.

Very peaceful and cozy property

This is a beautiful property on a very peaceful and tranquil property. The property has everything you need for your stay. The amenities list a washer and dryer are available but only if someone is there to allow you access, it was not a huge issue for us, but something to consider if you have to get laundry done. The property is extremely clean and has a warm feel to it. We did not meet Lori, the owner, but she was great with communication. We did meet her dad that was on the property and he is a very nice gentleman and very easy to talk with. We also were fortunate enough to meet Lori's dog, Bird, and that was a treat! What a great dog, he was hospitable enough to show us the trail on the property. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

Special Holiday Stay

This place is an amazing gem! If we could give it 10 stars we would! Well worth the extra drive from Shelton. Lori decorated the place for Thanksgiving and it will be one we will treasure at this cozy, beautiful cabin in the woods. Lots of walking trails and incredibly quite and peaceful. To top things off, we messed up and accidently arrived early, and Lori helped us rectify the situation. Thanks again, we hope to return soon!

A beautiful home in the woods

This is a very well appointed home. The kitchen was amazing. Only the garlic press wasn't great. Lots of extras...salt, pepper, sugar, types of coffee makers. My only concern is that the smell of dryer sheets was too strong for me.

Cozy and peaceful!

Well-appointed, clean and comfortable. The woods begin just a stone's throw from the downstairs bedrooms. If you love the sound of wind in the trees, just open the slider and enjoy! A little confusion with conflicting door codes and no cell reception to call the owner, but a friend of the owner stopped by to feed the chickens and was able to solve the problem. It was a lovely, peaceful stay!

Wonderful, Relaxing Experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very peaceful and relaxing property. Lori attended to our every need. We also enjoyed the nature trails in nearby Jarrell Cove State park (a mere 5 minute walk from the property). All in all, a very pleasant experience.

Wonderful

We completely enjoyed this experience. This is a beautiful home in the woods, with a peaceful setting plus all the amenities we needed. Lori stocked the fridge with plenty of supplies for a breakfast and snacks. It was a quiet and serene experience. Thank you!

Lovely stay on Harstine Island

Lori's home is just lovely and very well equipped, including lots of extra niceties that were helpful and a thoughtful touch. Lovely area - perfect for boating & hiking in the woods. Located to the southeast of Olympic National Park, it was a great location for us to head out to the park each day. Plenty to do in the general area, including Lake Cushman or Hoodsport if you're not necessarily heading to the national park. Thanks Lori for a lovely stay and a terrific home and environs!

Absolutely Beautiful Place To Get Away From It All

This was exactly what we were looking for. The house is to die for and the grounds are lovely. Nightlywe could hear the seal barking when we were outside. More than once we saw dear off the back deck and Bird, the resident dog entertains our daughter multiple times. If getting away from it all is what you want, this is a place for you, but be forewarned, there is little or no cell service. The TVs in the living room and bedroom do not have cable and depend on treating over the internet. Internet speed is rather slow (roughly 5 to 6 Mbps) so at times we had dropouts and slowdowns bile watching shows. Really didn’t bother us because, as I said, we were looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Lori is a gracious host and left chocolates for our arrival and pantry and frig were stocked with staples and coffee so if you can’t get to the store until the morning after you arrive, you’ll be okay. Overall, we would definitely consider staying again in the future.

Cute Place to Relax

Lori was very accommodating and lovely to talk to! She gave us so many ideas about how to best spend our time there. We hiked the trails, saw the sights, gazed at the stars, and road the ferry to Seattle! Plus, she gives you complimentary chocolate from her chocolate factory. We had a great stay!
