For those seeking a peaceful nature retreat with stunning year-round water views, Agate Beach House is the perfect place to relax in solitude or gather with friends and family.
Privately nestled amidst towering fir trees, Agate Beach House offers wide-ranging views of Hammersely Inlet, 8-miles of winding saltwater connecting Oakland Bay with Puget Sound. Watch the playful seals, fish from the beach, dig clams for dinner, and (on rare but fortuitous occasions) witness pods of splashing Orcas from the home’s wraparound deck.
The beach house consists of almost 2300 square feet, sleeping up to ten guests (eight adults max please). There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, with a third bedroom and an additional sleeping/entertainment room (with a door) and third bathroom downstairs.
The spacious main level living room features a cathedral ceiling and an entire wall of windows framing sweeping water views, which is equally mesmerizing in misty fog as when illuminated by bright sunshine. This room is comfortably and tastefully furnished with leather sofas, fireplace, 40” flat screen TV, DVD player, basic cable, a selection of books, as well as wireless internet (available throughout the house).
The open kitchen is fully equipped to prepare a gourmet feast, and includes a coffee maker, blender/food processor, commercial grade waffle maker and cookbooks.
Through the sliding glass doors of the adjoining dining room (seating 6 to 8), the large deck includes a gas grill and outdoor table and chairs overlooking the water. The yard is tastefully landscaped with mostly native shrubs and trees.
Still on the main level, the master bedroom offers a queen bed with water views, TV, and an en-suite bathroom with jetted tub (no shower in this bathroom). The guest bedroom next door faces the fir trees lining the private driveway. Furnished with a queen size bed, it is situated a few steps from the main level bathroom, which includes a tub and shower.
The downstairs living area offers limited views of the water, a cozy wood stove, and a sliding glass door to the lower garden. This spacious room with a door for privacy is furnished with a king sized bed and a twin bunk bed. The room also offers TV, videos, and board games. It is an ideal space to entertain children.
Also downstairs is yet another private bedroom with queen bed. There is also a third bathroom with a shower on the lower level.
WATER ACTIVITIES
Enjoy long strolls along the beach in either direction during low tide. Rent a kayak and have it delivered from the nearby town of Allyn (please note that the current strength varies throughout the day; consult tide schedule and kayak rental professionals regarding skill level requirements).

Beautiful view, well stocked house with a wide variety of spices. Nice it has plenty of dishes, pots pans, garbage bags, dish soap, towels, utensils etc most houses I’ve stayed at day they are fully loaded but don’t have as many spices or limit garbage Nagel’s or soap etc. great communication with Debra and plenty of parking. Would recommend and stay again if in the area. Thanks for great stay!
The kitchen was wonderfully stocked! Sharp knives and plenty of dishes, glasses, and silverware. Beautiful views from kitchen, living room and master bedroom. We loved the fireplace and we so appreciated all the beautiful art on the walls, all the masks, and ceramics. It truly was a treasure. And oh, there were so many salmon jumping!! We were all inspired.
The house was very nice and quiet. The deer came by to visit. Saw a seal and lots of birds. Loved sitting on the porch watching the Puget Sound go up and down.

Wonderful house in wooded area overlooking the water. House clean and nicely decorated with full kitchen full of great supplies.
I recently stayed here and I must say it exceeded my expectations. The location was picturesque, with easy beach access. The house itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this beach house for a relaxing getaway in the Pacific Northwest.
The house had plenty of room for our family get-together of six adults, a teen and a child. The views of the full moon over the water were amazing. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding. The location is quiet and private and the grounds are lovely.
We loved the house. It was very well stocked. But are some problems….. the refrigerator water dispenser leaks and makes a mess on the floor. Some of the lights didn’t have bulbs or were out. One kitchen light comes on and off by itself on the ceiling and last the curtains downstairs are falling off the wall as wall in the dining room.
House and property are amazing! Our stay was amazing! We did have a walking/ exploring 1 year old with us, and that turned out to be its own adventure, as the home has lots of things and decor within their reach.
The house had plenty of space with four bedrooms and two bathrooms with showers (and the master with a soaker tub) for our large group. It was a beautiful house, with a nice view, great kitchen and living room, laundry facilities, and ample parking.
Preparations leading to our stay were superb. Debra was very responsive when we had questions—always prompt to answer. The house was clean and accommodated our group of eight perfectly. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
This is a wonderful home with a beautiful view of the water and access to the beach. Be aware that it is a steep descent to the water from the house, and the current was pretty strong which made paddleboarding difficult. Overall, this property exceeded my expectations, and I would absolutely recommend it.
House is in a great location. The inlet is beautiful and the wildlife is spectacular. The house is nice but a lot of the facilities are tired. Dishwasher needs to be fixed, there are tears in the couches, and most of the house was well worn. Still, it is a nice home.

Glad another guest enjoyed Agate Beach House. The dishwasher top rack has been fixed (right after this guest's stay). The sofa rip happened recently and the owners plan on going there and getting new sofas very soon, so if you book, there will likely be new sofas. Thanks! Debra, Picture Properties
We had a great stay here. The view was gorgeous and we got to see crabs, jellyfish, seals, and clams on the shore, as well as the daily tidal changes. We went to a Jarrell Cove State Park and did a nice easy hike with the kids where we also saw three deer. The house was big enough for six adults and three kids although the master bedroom mattress was not very comfortable. It was a quiet neighborhood where we could pick blackberries on our walks. Overall we had a great stay!
Great place to go if you are not looking to go out and about. There is not much to do in the nearby town. The patio and deck furniture should be replaced, they were pretty rickety. I would also suggest replacing the deck boards and railing. They are very wobbly. Otherwise it was a great place!
We really enjoyed watching the views come and go as the fog moved in and out. We were looking for a place with amazing view to take my folks for a few days. My mom has mobility issues and we liked that 2 bedrooms are on the main floor and the master has an ensuite bathroom. There are a few easy stairs to get into the house and once in she was able to get around easily with her walker. The grounds are lovely. Note the last step down to the beach is quite slippery, looks like it is often underwater during high tide.
