Casablanca House is amazing, it is comfortable, has a nice porch to sit and have coffee in the morning. It is a quiet neighbourhood but very close to Main St. We enjoyed our stay.
Casablanca Cottage was perfect. The location was perfect, the cottage was perfect, the neighborhood was perfect...just wonderful.

Perfect is pretty hard to live up to but thank you just the same. We try to make he cottage comfortable and interesting for guests when the visit. The neighbourhood does the rest. Thank again and I hop to see you in the future.
Beautiful home! Great to stay about a block from Queen Street. Loved staying here for the Niagara Grape/Wine/Icewine Festival! Thank you for being a dog friendly property. Our dog had a blast exploring the neighborhood! So did we!
Beautifully restored home in a wonderful walking friendly setting. Beautiful and private backyard with a very nice Weber gas grill. Easy walk to grocery store and restaurants. Would stay again.

The house is the newest on the street corner being built in about 1920. The house was built of reclaimed materials which adds to the charm. I enjoy owning it and renting to folks visiting Niagara on the lake.
The house is lovely and location superb. The only draw back was the inability to open windows. There are storm windows on for the cold season which doesn’t allow for fresh air to come in. As a result the house has a musty smell. This was an issue for us but may not be for someone else.

We completed a multi day fall cleanup a couple of days before you arrived. Replaced screens with storm windows, trimmed hedges and cleaned up the garden. Of course that was followed by unseasonably warm weather. My apology for the musty smell.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage in such close proximity to the downtown core. We were able to walk everywhere.
Spacious, spotlessly clean, a well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds and, to our surprise and delight, decorated for Christmas inside and out!
Thank you, Don, for an amazing visit.
Excellent location. Kitchen well stocked. Downstairs shower/ bathroom not the best for anyone over 5’9.

Clean is important to us when we travel so it is the number one priority with both of my houses (I own Marrakech Mansion as well) The couple who clean my houses are very particular and place a lot of pride in their work. Queen Street is a short block away and the theatres are all within walking distance. These are my homes, we vacation in them too, so we try to maintain the highest possible standards.
Thank you for your review and I look forward to seeing you again.

Another fabulous weekend in NOTL
Once again we stayed at Casablanca Cottage this past weekend for the Annual Ice Wine Festival. Fabulous cosy retreat. Close to downtown for shopping and dining. Cottage is well decorated, neat and tidy and fully stocked for all your needs. We'll be back next year for sure. Thanks Don!

I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. The weather for the icewine festival was perfect, cold enough that the ice did not melt but warm enough people did not freeze! I look forward to hearing from you when you are ready to book for next year.
This was a great location and very walkable to shopping and great restaurants. Very comfortable inside and out.
Beds were comfortable and rooms were well laid out. Only consideration is that it is an older home and there is only on bathroom on the second floor.
Communication was quick and responsive. Definitely recommend.
Casablanca cottage is amazing in many ways—it is a beautiful, quaint cottage, in a perfect location one block from Queen St, and Don is a very attentive host and made sure we had everything we needed. It was an extra special time. Thanks Don!!
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Casablanca Cottage. There are many things that made the stay great. First was the location, location, location, it could not be closer to Queen Street and all of the shops and restaurants. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood on a beautiful corner with available free street parking along with the onsite parking pad. Second, the house itself was beautiful both inside and out. My wife and I especially appreciated the colors chosen for the interior. They were warm and inviting and made us feel quite cozy. There was a gas fireplace that created a wonderful ambiance and the furniture was exquisite. The most impressive element of our rental was the interaction with the host. He communicated quickly and was both personable and professional. I told Don he was my new best friend in Canada. Finally, the house was even decorated for Christmas with a Christmas tree so we felt like we were home versus a VRBO. It was a great experience, we have already rebooked for September.

Charming Casablanca Cottage
Casablanca Cottage is a lovely, restored historical vacation rental, suitable for our party of 6 adults. We had additional folks for dinner one evening on the patio, and it is plenty spacious for entertaining. The cottage is well cared for and very relaxing. The front porch is wonderful! The location of being one block from the main street of Niagara-on-the-lake is ideal for walking adventures all over town. We would use Casablanca Cottage again and highly recommend it.

Casablanca Cottage was built in about 1920, from reclaimed materials. No two windows are the same size which adds to the character! It received a new coat of Sweet Orange paint on the exterior this year and we added a cast iron urn to the front garden. It is a great house and as the guest said it is in a great location. Thank you for your review.
e had a wonderful stay at Casablanca Cottage. The location is absolutely unbeatable, just half a block from Queen Street and within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the grocery store. From the moment we arrived, the home felt warm, clean, and thoughtfully maintained. The hosts clearly care: the kitchen was well equipped, the linens and towels were provided in abundance, and the fiber-optic WiFi (150 Mbps up/down) functioned flawlessly. We especially loved relaxing on the front porch (great spot for morning coffee or evening wine) and in the private side garden with the grill for dinners outdoors. The gas fireplace was a nice touch on cooler evenings. The layout worked well for us: three bedrooms (two queens, one with twin beds) and three bathrooms. A small note: one of the full baths is located in the basement, and the downstairs shower has limited headroom, so taller guests should be aware. Communication with the hosts was excellent. They were responsive, leaving helpful local tips and a binder with area guides (restaurants, shops, things to do) in the home.If you want to be in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake, walking to everything, in a home with character and charm, this is a top pick. We'd stay again in a heartbeat.
The house is lovely and well situated. We enjoyed our stay, although the steep stairs were hard for two of us. All three bedrooms are upstairs and there is only one bathroom up there. The other full bath is in the basement.
One of the Queen beds sags in the middle. In the same room, on the front of the house, the floorboards sag in front of the closet.

The stairs are steep, my wife had problem with them before having her knees fixed. If you have problems with stairs you would find Marrakech Mansion easier to negotiate. Regarding sagging bed, I asked the opinion of the next guests after these people and both reported the bed to be fine. I also slept in it myself for 2 nights since these guests stayed and did not notice any sagging. The upstairs floor is old fashioned one inch hardwood and the installer did not put plywood down before installing. In this bedroom there is one piece about 8 inches long that sags. I think the flooring was all left overs as most pieces are very short. I have been reluctant to take up any of the flooring until I have replacement pieces. This will happen when we replace the bathroom at home that has the same flooring. (maybe this winter) Tahnk you for your honest review.
The location counts for more than I imagined. We never used our car at all. Everything is in walking distance, The front porch was big and comfy, well covered so you could sit out when it was raining a little. the kitchen was well stocked with equipment, bowls, dishes , glasses, cooking gear, etc.
I wouldn't call it 3 bathrooms. One was a nice well placed powder room on the ground floor and one was in the basement, not ideal.

Casablanca Cottage....Great Location, Charming, Comfortable and Clean!
We rented the beautiful Casablanca Cottage for 3 nights mid October. The house was plenty spacious for our group of 6 adults. The weather was mild enough that we were able to sit in the beautiful landscaped backyard garden area for our first nights dinner as well as the much photographed front porch for late afternoon cocktails. House is immaculately clean and well stocked. Beds were comfy. Gas fireplace was a nice touch. Supermarket, liquor store, wine shop, pharmacy as well as many shops and restaurants within a couple minutes walk. My personal favorites were Niagara Falls, Welland Canal, Peller Estates Winery for a tasting and of course Niagara On The Lake itself all within 5 mins to 25 mins away from house. Don was easy to work with during the rental process. He keeps a binder of very useful and helpful information (about home, things to do in NOTL,menus ect.) in the home. We loved Casablanca Cottage and Niagara On The Lake. If you go you will too!

Thank you for loving Niagara on the Lake as much as we do. Great pubs and restaurants within a few minutes walk, the grocery store and wine shops a block away. Niagara falls a pleasant 20 minute drive through wine country, the Welland Cannel where you can see ocean going ships up close as they transit to and from Lake Erie a 15 minute drive away. The wineries, the golf courses the dinner cruise on the river? Lots of activities to keep you busy or just kick back and eat at home at Casablanca Cottage.

Beyond our Expectations! Excellent Location
Casablanca Cottage is so pretty, we didn't want to leave. Full with attention to detail. We are a family of 6 with 4 teenagers. Everyone slept comfortably and we all found a favorite spot in the house to curl-up with a book or just to chill-out without getting on each others hair. The owner had the house ready with everything we needed. Before our stay Don was kind enough to send info with things to do in the area. The town on itself is a must see with everything within walking distance including Fort George and the lake. If you rather bike, you can rent bicycles too. Short drive (around 30 min) to Niagara Falls and 1.5 hr. drive to Toronto. You don't have lo leave town if you don't want to, there is a grocery store 2 blocks away, plenty of restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, and shopping. Our favorite spot was Nina's Gelatto shop. Paddle board or rent jet skis and enjoy the lake or take it easy and enjoy a carriage ride. You can also enjoy some winery tours. We definitely coming back!

Nino's Gelato is a favourite of mine too!
Thank you for your review. Our objective is to make your holiday as pleasant and trouble free as possible. The location 1/2 block from Queen street is perfect, far enough away from the crowds but close to everything that you want to do. I am happy to hear you enjoyed Casablanca Cottage and hope to see you again.
Super cute Ontario cottage in an amazing location! It’s literally a 2 minute walk to the Main Street.
This place does have a cozy cottage feel; 2 of the bedrooms are on the smaller side & the second bathroom is in the basement, it’s quite small & if you’re taller than 5’6” it’s going to feel cramped.
The kitchen is very well stocked & porch alone is worth the stay (definitely my favourite part).
We definitely hope to be back again soon.
Fantastic property. Great location. Property truly has everything you need. Super easy to find what you need. Would recommend it whole heartedly.

About the host
Hosted by Don George
My wife and I love Niagara on the Lake and we love to restore historic homes. We also like to see people enjoying their vacation. We have been able to accomplish all of the above by purchasing two lovely old homes in the heart of old town. We treat them like our own second home and decorate them the way our own home is decorated. I hope you enjoy Casablanca cottage and Marrakech Mansion as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
If you love the old town, love old houses, love being able to walk everywhere, then this is the house for you! All that and I think the best front porch in town.
What makes this property unique
Location has to be number one! The fun colours inside and out, the open dining plan and private side garden are all wonderful.
