We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Smoky Mountain Splendor. So nice you could celebrate your birthday by getting away together. Our hot tubs do not have those really strong massaging jets. Our tubs are for hydrotherapy, relaxation or pleasure. Not to give you a message. Sorry you were expecting a different kind of hot tub. We look forward to working with you again on your next Smoky Mountain Vacation.
Took my kids up for a quick getaway over spring break. The cabin was more than we could have hoped for. Between the game room, movie theater set up and hot tub, the kids and I were incredibly happy. The cabin had all the extra amenities that made it a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Will 100% stay there again

We are so glad you found Smoky Mountain Splendor perfect for your Pigeon Forge Getaway. We look forward to working with you again on your next Family vacation.
The stay was great. The cabin was beautiful. They provided a long list of activities to make planning the day easier. We asked about early check in and received a long responce about why we shouldn’t ask for that. The house was clean for the most part when we checked in besides a few areas. We found dirty socks on the couch and a few dead bugs in the house.

I try to be as thorough as I can with information. That is why we send out information about the cabin and things to do in the area. Likewise, when someone asks for an early check in, I want to explain why we cannot offer an early check in. So sorry if you felt like I was saying you shouldn't ask. I was just explaining the situation.
So sorry our cleaners missed the socks. Our cleaners are very good. But, occasionally can miss something. So glad your stay ws great.
The cabin was beautiful and you could tell the host wanted the visitors to be comfortable. There were little extras everywhere that you don’t normally see in a rental. It was perfect for my stay.

My wife and I had a great escape to the mountains with this cabin. Far enough to be out of the city but close enough to drive down to pigeon forge and gatlinburg.

Staying at Smoky Mountain Splendor was a truly exceptional mountain getaway, made perfectly stress-free by the cabin's incredible layout and its thoughtful, high-end pet amenities.
Finding a truly pet-friendly spot can be tough, but Smoky Mountain Splendor was perfect for us and our two dogs. Our favorite feature was the fenced-in yard connected directly to the bedroom—it made morning and late-night let-outs so much more convenient. We also really appreciated that crates were provided; having that especially large one available in the bedroom was awesome and saved us so much packing space. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax, and the host’s list of local pet-friendly activities was a great touch. If you're looking for a comfortable, secure spot for a Smoky Mountain adventure with your furry family members, this is it!

Spacious home with easy drive into Pigeon Forge
This home was clean and very spacious for our family of four. The area is quiet, the drive is easy, and the home has a lovely view of the mountains. The kitchen was fully stocked and there were plenty of towels in the bathrooms. There were so many board games available for use. My kids loved the game room, which had shuffleboard, a pool table, a Wii, and and arcade machine. We utilized the media room for a family movie night. There were fans available for use in the bedrooms, which is nice for those of us that need some white noise to sleep. All the porches are set up nicely with comfortable seating so you can enjoy the beautiful views. We did not bring a pet with us, but this house is definitely able to accommodate your furry friends with it's fenced in yard and multiple indoor kennels. We would be happy to stay here again.
We love to hear when our guests feel at home. It sounds like you enjoyed your time at Smoky Mountain Splendor. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
The house was beautifully decorated. Our dogs loved the dog run and snacks. The hot tub was perfect. Close to town but not too close. We had neighbors but still felt like we were by ourselves. We will stay again.

We too love the location. When sitting on the wrap around deck, it feels like you are far off in the country. Yet, you can be on the Pigeon Forge strip in less than 5 miles. The lot is wooded on the sides and back and open in the front so you can see the far off mountains. So glad you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to hosting you again on your next Smoky Mountain Vacation.
Overall this is a nice cabin in a location that is convenient to Pigeon Forge. My family stayed for two nights. The beds are nice and there is plenty of space to spread out. Lots of books and games available. My husband and I planned to sleep in the lower level room, but couldn’t get comfortable with the dampness/dog smell. This is a pet-friendly cabin with a large dog crate downstairs. The lower level bathroom had an issue with wet bath mats and water on the floor. Not a pleasant feeling to step on with bare feet or socks. I brought this up with Mary Beth, who was quick to respond and said she would address this with the cleaner. The loft bathroom also had an issue: a leak in the base of the toilet causing water to get on the floor when it was flushed. I texted Mary Beth about this as soon as we discovered the problem.I’m sure these issues will be resolved, but they were disappointing for an otherwise lovely cabin.

We too love the location. You can be anywhere you want to be in the area in about 20 minutes. It is less than 5 miles to the Pigeon Forge Parkway. Yet, when you sit on the wrap around deck you feel like you are way off in the country. Right before the weather got cold in 2025, we installed a dog run off of the lower level. Our intention was to allow people to have a place where they could let their dogs out without having to put them on a leash every time and go outside with them. Unfortunately, people are leaving the lower level door open and allowing their dogs to run in and out. Which not only lets the air and heat escape, but is dangerous because bears have wandered into our cabins before. This also tracks in a lot of stuff on the dogs paws. And, I didn't imagine that the dogs would be peeing on the patio down there instead of out in the grass. My housekeeper had to throw away some throw rungs and only had one set. before you arrived, she cleaned the floors and the throw rugs and thought they were dry enough when she put them back down. I have since bought another set so she can take them home to clean them and put the other set out. We do have an air purifier on the lower level and a dehumidifier in the laundry room. My housekeeper and I are trying to buy different product to clean up the lower level patio and deter dogs from peeing down there. I did not realize it was so uncomfortable on the lower level or I would have sent out our cleaner immediately.
Beautiful cabin in a great location! Mary Beth sent great information ahead of our trip and was very responsive and check-in was a breeze. The bed was comfortable and the cabin had everything we needed to make our yearly trip to the mountains enjoyable. Our furbabies especially enjoyed the fenced dog run and fresh mountain air.

We too love the location. It feels like you are way off in the country however, you can be on the Pigeon Forge Parkway in less than 5 miles. Very easy to get around Pigeon Forge and Sevierville utilizing the back roads. We are so glad your fur babies enjoyed the dog run. We just put that in recently. Not having to harness up and leash your dogs every time you go outside is a plus for us on vacation. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
The property was joyfully decorated. It was nice that everything was not bears, which seems to be the go to on cabin decorations. Beautiful furniture and the upkeep was obvious, repairs were made where needed so it is very apparent the owners take pride in there cabin. A lot of thought has gone into making people comfortable and the experience a real joy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely look to stay there again in the future.

This place was by far the best stocked cabin we’ve ever stayed in and included extra perks the sound machines in the bedrooms and tons of games and puzzles. The guidance and email communications were beyond expectations and the location was amazing.

About the host
Hosted by Mary Beth & Bill Schaefer
My husband and I have two young adult children. We have a boy and a girl. They are both still going to school for higher education. I have been trying to take my children to different National Parks every summer before they get so old they do not want to vacation with us. We hit the Smokies and now we normally spend our time there. My husband was very resistant to travel on vacation somewhere that was 10 hours away. But, when we got to the cabin, he said I could drag him 10 hours anytime.
Why they chose this property
Smoky Mountain Splendor offers convenience and privacy located just 5 miles from the Pigeon Forge Parkway, 9 miles from Dollywood, only 14 miles to Gatlinburg, 10 miles to the Metcalf Bottoms entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and 25 miles to Cades Cove.
We love the mountain views. The kids love all the activity. They never get bored. I love the hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains. I also love all the history in the area. This seemed like the perfect place for us to buy a vacation home.
