Above a Wine Shoppe...Downtown Highlands!

Walk anywhere!! In-Town Property.

I can't think of a better place to be than Highlands, NC. The only thing better is a location with the ability to walk everywhere in town and be above a Wine Shoppe! You will access to our Main St. facing front yard with fire pit, tables and chairs. The end to a perfect evening is having a glass of wine while sitting by the fire pit.

Our apartment was remodeled in 2017. Most of the work was done by my Father (a retired Highlands builder). We wanted to keep the characteristics of Highlands but offer modern amenities. Our property is #1 on the Historical Registry for Highlands.

Above Wine Shop

Outstanding place for very walkable Highlands with great restaurants. Highly enjoyed outdoor area for wine and conversation. Beautiful weather in June. Also checked out nearby waterfalls.

Highlands Wine Shoppe

Had our second great stay in the apartment above the Wine Shoppe in Highlands. The apartment had everything we needed and is in a great location. Really nice to be able to pop downstairs and try some great wines.

Holiday getaway

Took my 2 adult daughters to the Highlands for a quick weekend and holiday getaway. We had a wonderful time. The place and location were just what we were looking for. And it was a big plus to be above the wine bar. We had to leave earlier than we expected because of a winter storm coming in, but we enjoyed our time. Would love to come back.

Anniversary

This is a great place to stay in Highlands. On Main Street so you can walk to anywhere in town. The apartment is so comfortable and roomy and has everything you will need. My second time staying here and will definitely come back. So much fun sitting around the fire pit on the lawn. The owners, Stephanie and Steve are wonderful and everyone in the Wine Shop is so nice and helpful. A top recommendation, you will love it.

Wedding weekend

Absolute perfection! The apartment was cozy and spacious. Steve and Stephanie were simply exceptional hosts! We enjoyed celebrating the wedding of dear friends during our stay, and the entire wedding party commented that we had the BEST accommodations of anyone! We had an issue getting into the property due to the code not being changed on the VRBO site. The host was traveling and contact was spotty. Just one of those rare snafus that happens along with torrential rains, after driving hours to get to your destination. The situation was finally remedied and we came into a lovely apartment and the sun actually came out. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip . The town was beautiful and had several very good restaurants. The accommodations were superb and the host graciously gifted us with a delightful bottle of wine. The trip started a little rough but there was a rainbow at the end. delicious townbeautifullovrestaurants

Outstanding Place

We’ve been to the wine shop many many times, in fact every time we go to the Highlands. When I saw that there was an apartment above for rent, I couldn’t believe it. The space itself was perfect and very well appointed. Check-in was incredibly simple. The host were available whenever we needed. We will definitely stay again.

Great location walkable to everything

Apartment had all the comforts of home - well stocked kitchen, very spacious and comfortable and clean. Great location above the Wine Shop. Enjoyed having a glass of wine and visiting with the guests at the Wine Shop. Will definitely come back!! We planned to grill steaks based on pictures on VRBO - disappointed to find no grill. Highly recommend adding a grill.

Great place!

Super convenient to downtown Highlands, yet very private. It has a nice private upper level patio nicely shaded by trees, a nice kitchen and breakfast area, Master bedroom, bathroom, a large sitting room/den, and closets. TV in den and master bedroom. Everything needed was there. I'll be back!
