It is our pleasure to welcome you to our Four Seasons home on Chestnut Mountain in the heart of scenic Horse Cove, Highlands, NC
Nestled among rhododendrons and evergreens, the first-floor suite with private entrance and deck has expansive mountain views, beautiful sunsets and sounds of rushing nearby waterfall.
Escape to this ultimate destination.
Whether you plan to take it all in or just take it easy during your sojourn to Western North Carolina, we want to ensure your stay is memorable.The open floor plan of the first-floor suite, over 1,200 sq ft, encourages memorable times with family, friends or your special someone.
French doors open onto a private deck. The natural warmth of the sunlight fills the spacious living area. Hand lime waxed walls, mahogany floors, and timber accents add a rustic elegant charm to the timeless décor within this three-level log home.

3.8 miles from downtown Highlands, within Rustic Falls, a gated community. Private entrance, access along a beautiful garden walkway and lighted staircase to your first-floor suite, 1200 sq. ft. You will find tranquility yet so many adventures during your stay.

From the moment you enter scenic Horse Cover the crisp clean mountain air and breathtaking views can be enjoyed from your private deck or outdoor patio on the side of the house with a BBQ grill.
If you wish to pull yourself away from the tranquility of Horse Cove, you are only a 10-minute drive into Main Street of Highlands. You will find award winning restaurants for dining, luxurious Old Edwards Spa, fabulous shopping, golf, hiking trails and fly fishing to entice you.
Nearby Cashiers affords similar interests, take Whiteside Cove Road, traversing beneath Whiteside Mountain, named one of the most scenic roads in the Southeast. In the Winter, Highlands ice skating rink, Sapphire Mtn skiing and snowboarding.
House guests at Four Seasons are entitled to use our membership, at The Old Edwards Club, to use the facilities including Golf, Tennis, Pool, Dining, Bar. We as host reserve your tee times and dinner reservations.

R & R in the Mountains

Difficult to find in the dark! Better signage and reflectors would help a lot. Surprised we were asked to remove linens and place in laundry room at 570 a night rate The dryer was out of service. The view is very nice and the multiple bed rooms would be great for a family.The pumpkin bread left by the owner was spectacular.

Philip, Thank you for your review and comments. We are glad you enjoyed the seasonal Mountain views and the homemade pumpkin bread, always a guest favorite ! For clarification , the nightly rate ( market determined) for your stay was $305, you paid a total of $517.73 which included VRBO service fee, taxes and cleaning. We simply ask guests to remove sheets from the beds they used and gather towels, and place in the laundry room so our cleaning team knows which beds to refresh! We never ask our guests to do any laundry. Our dryer just went out the day you arrived and a service call was scheduled promptly. Generally our guests find our home using GPS without any issues. The home and landscape are well lit! We understand that “ after dark” in the mountains can sometimes feel unfamiliar . We are open to adding a light to our sign at the driveway entrance to make arrival even easier! We are always available for communication before and during your stay if a need arises or you have any concerns! We truly hope you will return in the future for another stay at Four Seasons in Highlands! Cathy

Everything was perfect. Magnificent balcony and view. Our hosts were wonderful. There was not much of a kitchen and fridge, but it met our needs and was well equipped. Home was beautiful and in perfect condition. Should be noted there are some semi steep stairs to property that might be difficult with children and older adults. Highly recommend.

Four Seasons fulfilled all that we were attracted to! It is a hidden gem. All amenities met our needs. Our hosts were congenial and always willing to be helpful without intruding on our enjoyment. We arrived from oppressive heat in our FL home to gentle cool fresh air and majestic vistas. It was like being in a tree house with a grand deck complete with hammock. We will be back! We loved their suggestion to dine at "On The Verandah". Superb!

We felt like we found a secret gem in this amazing stay! It was better than imagined, more lovely than the pictures and fully stocked with everything one could need! The porch is huge, the rental is very spacious and the host were very responsive. The freshly baked delicious pumpkin spice bread was such a nice welcome treat as well. We absolutely plan to stay here again in the future!

Quiet get away

We enjoyed our stay here so very much! The expansive porch was so beautiful and peaceful and the view just lovely! We sat in the rocking chairs and had coffee each morning enjoying the fresh air and mountain views. And the pumpkin bread our hostess provided was delicious!! This rental is really a lovely place to stay! The drive through horse cove is beautiful! It’s the lower level of their home. Very quiet and Large area, decorated and cozy. View was amazing.suggestion in the driving directions be sure to stay to the right and not go up the hill Beds were soo comfortable, great sheets. Great Escape

Excellent house close to downtown Highlands and short drive to Cashiers. Close to many great hiking trails. Very peaceful and quiet place. Perhaps I missed this, but does not have a full kitchen. Outside of that was perfect and spacious.

Great Place

Great location for a short drive to town. The house was decorated beautifully with great detail. You truly feel welcomed when you open the door. The large deck was great as well as the view. One thing I noticed in particular, on the back deck is super quiet and peaceful. The king sized bed was super comfortable, but to be honest I would sleep outside for another loaf of that homemade pumpkin bread. What a wonderful relaxing place!

Wonderful property, fabulous host

We stayed for four nights with our two young children. The property was clean, comfortable and so relaxing. There were lots of games at the house to which we enjoyed playing in the mornings and evenings on the porch. It was so nice to have the option to use the old Edwards club. Cathy was the most wonderful host you could ask for and was super responsive and accommodating to all our questions and requests (and she was out of the country!) We highly recommend staying here!

Short weekend trip

Our group consisted of myself and two 17 year olds. The place was perfect for our needs. It was beautiful, well decorated, very comfortable and had a great porch. The hosts were very nice and quick to reply to our questions. She even had beverages waiting for us upon arrival and set umbrellas out for us as it rained the whole weekend. We will definitely return. We would like to spend more time there. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous place!
