The place was great as it was beachfront. Acess to the beach was the best. There were some cleaning issues mostly resolved quickly wirh the management office.
It needs a bit of work- bedroom floors are not level and there is a soft spot in the bathroom. But otherwise - cute house.

Johnny, we are so sad to hear that you were displeased with your stay. We always encourage our guests to let us know of any concerns upon check-in. While we don’t show a report of any cleaning issues, we do show you reported a few small maintenance items to the office late afternoon on Monday and our records indicate that we were able to address these for you first thing Wednesday morning. We hope you enjoyed your time in the area and that you will have a better experience on a future stay with us.

50th birthday
The location is great, but the house slopes, and outlets are in weird places in bed rooms.
The location is perfect and the living room is wonderful. Kitchen could use some updating, but the back corner of the house is sinking and the floors have a significant slope down in two of the bedrooms. The bathroom could also use a remodel, but the water is hot. The place is serviceable, but hope it doesn’t sink any further.
Got to the property, no towels for bathing, nor toilet paper. On the 3rd day we noticed cockroaches and had to leave the property a day early. Property management denied any type of compensation for the issues. I will personal never stay again.
Come prepared with your own trash bags and hand soap, because why would they provide those? Also come prepared to put the sheets on the beds because they can’t bother doing that either. The minimum effort that went into making it hospitable surprised me more every day of our stay. Don’t get me wrong, the hedge fund bought an excellent, quaint property once owned by a family and asked themselves, “how can we turn the biggest profit?” And knew that people would book for the location no matter what, not caring about hospitality.

Couch smelled like urine
The furniture in the living room was filthy. The couch had clearly been urinated on & smelled very strongly. The solution was to have housekeeping drop off a smoke out spray...There was a wire coming out of the light switch in the living room not even covered in conduit that ran to an extension cord in the kitchen. That cannot be up to code. The bathroom is gross. Beds were wildly uncomfortable. This property needs updating badly.
We had a lovely stay here! We were looking for a quaint, small seaside cottage for 2 with a dog and that is exactly what we got. The cottage was well located and had some updates but it could use a little refresh. 6 couples would be snug.
Perfect, spur of the moment, getaway. Beautiful oceanfront rental, had entire beach to ourselves. No complaints, aside from lack of toiletries provided and higher than expected cleaning fees. Will definitely be back, preferably in a larger rental for a longer stay!
We really liked the house it had such a beautiful view, but this house is definitely not for someone with small Kids!! The return vent was close to the floor and open we had no way of closing it, and a kid could fall down it in, we had to take a chair and push against it, as we had 2 small children that loves to explore.... tons of windows to see out and look at the ocean, but as soon as the sun went down the lack of lightning made it hard to see anything inside the house especially the bedrooms.... we left a 2 star accuracy for this house, this house is pictured with a covered porch one of the reasons we really wanted this house, but as we arrived there was no covered porch..Overall these were minor things we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again ( with baby proofing things)

Beautiful weather.
The house was cozy. The beds comfy. The location was great. The staff at oak island accommodations was very helpful.
One of the rockers was in disrepair, and only one regular seating outdoor chair. Also the kitchen was minimally equipped when it came to pots & pans. All in all we enjoyed our stay though.
