About this property

Dog Loving Host, Central to Beach & Golf, Multi Couple Retreat, Birder Paradise

Welcome to a peaceful retreat tucked at the end of a quiet cul de sac—a thoughtfully crafted home owned by a professional home builder who takes pride in quality, comfort, and the little details that make a stay feel special. And yes… we absolutely love dogs, so your well behaved pup is welcome to enjoy the island with you. While this rental does not have resort pool access, we provide premium beach gear including towels, toys and beach chairs.

This inviting West Beach home places you close to everything while still feeling wonderfully private. You’re just minutes from Night Heron Park, Freshfields Village, and the island’s beautiful beach access points, making it easy to explore, relax, and reconnect with nature.

Inside, the home features 3 bedrooms with king beds and 3 full bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 6 guests. Step onto the back deck and find a serene setting perfect for morning coffee, evening cocktails, or simply unwinding after a day on the island. Our deck overlooks a tranquil pond, where you’re immediately surrounded by the sights and sounds of the low country with a unique and up close and personal glimpse into the amazing nature of the island. For bird lovers, this is a genuine birder’s paradise. The pond attracts a wide variety of species, warblers, buntings, anhinga, wading birds, just to name a few. And just beyond the porch sits a remarkable highlight: an active eagles’ nest, close enough to watch the adults soar overhead and the eaglets grow and test their wings. It’s a rare and unforgettable experience that guests talk about long after their stay

Whether you’re here for the wildlife, the beaches, the biking trails, or the quiet charm of Kiawah Island, this home offers the ideal blend of convenience, craftsmanship, and comfort.

About the host

Hosted by Karen Worral

Host profile image
We are a family from Pennsylvania who manages many rentals, and runs a construction business. We started visiting Kiawah when our 3 sons were young, and it provided an amazing location to enjoy creation in a pristine, protected, natural setting. Through the years, Kiawah kept calling us back, and we decided to build a house.

We enjoy taking walks and riding bikes on the miles of paved trails surrounded by live oaks and dense maritime forest. It is so invigorating to go out to the beach, feel the wind on your face and watch the beautiful ocean waves. We love the way the house fits into the landscape of the Island; it is tranquil and isolated yet a close proximity to a variety of activities. Kiawah Island promotes the conservation of natural and scenic resources and this makes all the difference. Deer, bobcats, alligators and many other animals roam the island. Dolphins, pelicans and a wide array of birds surprise and delight at every turn. Kiawah is a place that captures your heart; once there, you never want to leave. We know you will feel the same way.

Why they chose this property

This property is seated in a beautiful neighborhood on a quiet cul-de-sac just a short bike ride or drive away from amazing Kiawah beaches and golf courses. The neighborhood is wonderfully wooded with tall trees and hanging moss, giving it an almost magical affect. The back porch of this home overlooks its own personal lagoon where birds and all sorts of creatures are able to be spotted. This home is perfectly located near lovely beaches, biking trails, five world-class golf courses, two racquet clubs, a recreation center with a playground and a nature center.

What makes this property unique

Our house on Salt Meadow Cove is nestled within the heart of Kiawah Island, and is moments from all the Island’s activities. Night Heron Park which is a hub of island activity is only a 3 minute drive of a 5 minute bike ride. Night Heron Park has basket ball courts, play grounds a fantastic nature museum and The Nest which has great food and gift shop. Beach parking is convenient at Night Heron Park and along with Freshfields Village is a 7 minute car ride or a 17 minute bike ride. There you will find shopping, grocery store, and the best ice-cream shop you can imagine. Salt Meadow boasts of a great location to most Island activities.
