Maarten lives close to the windmill, about 2 miles down the beautiful river Gein. He’s the miller, with his dauhgter Lisa. We run the mill regularly, pump out water from the polder, it’s always magical: big machine from 1874 pumps out 20’000 liters a minute! It s just great to share this with as many people as we can!

The most beautiful rural area and only 12 kilometers from downtown Amsterdam. The windmill is unique and a beauty! Did you know Piet Mondriaan produced 26 works of this windmill? For instance : Oostzijdse molen by night and by evening.
