About this property
"St Geneva" Private With River View! 7 min to the Q Center
Welcome to "St. Geneva"! I call it that because of the home's ideal location between 2 gorgeous and quaint towns-St. Charles and Geneva.
Between the two towns there's plenty of shopping and night life to be had. The home is located along The Fox River. Just cross the street you can access miles of biking/walking trails. Feel free to take 2 kayaks over to the launch just a couple blocks away. Walk to the farmer’s market for fresh food to prepare in the fully equipped kitchen.
I'm currently occupying the upstairs unit, so the common areas are the screen room, utility room (washer and dryer), patio with tables and chairs, the yard and a grill. For chilly weather there is a gas operated fire pit. Sit around the fire on a cool night with your favorite beverage for a chat or roast marshmallows without smelling like a forest fire! Please give notice when you want to use the grill, fire pit, kayaks, and fishing poles. There is Netflix, Amazon, PS3, DVD player and WiFi access. I have plenty of apps for other streaming platforms that you may sign in with your credentials. In addition, there are good old fashioned cards and board games. Games and toys for children also. Take advantage of the spacious yard for lawn games, which are also provided.
The neighborhood is mature with lots of large trees and beautiful parks. At the back is the Fox River with a street between the house and river and just to the south is a park that at one time was a Civil War training camp. Just across the river is Mt. St Mary Park with tress and a walking trail. Great for cleansing morning walks. The park also contains a basketball court, tennis court, skateboard park, pavilion, and children's playground. The neighbor to my north is very quiet.
Shopping and dining are awesome both in Geneva and St. Charles. Fests and fairs are a large part of both towns.
Some of Arcada Theatre general acts include: tribute bands, comedians, oldies bands, and murder mystery dinners. Particular artists include: America, Dokken, Herman’s Hermits, The Guess Who, Jon Anderson.
For a different turn on live local theatre, the small yet charming Steel Beam Theatre in St Charles is a must.
The Paramount Theatre, located in Aurora and just 30 minutes away, hosts broadway style musicals and plays.
10 minutes from Lamplight Equestrian Center. 7 minutes from The Q Center. If you want to visit Chicago, there is a train station in Geneva that will get you there.
Guests will be given an entry code 1-3 days before check in which will allow them access to the screen room to their secure door where there will be a key for the deadbolt. Most often I will be around to greet guests when they first arrive. If I’m not able to be there I will definitely inform my guests.
**** When booking, please let me know what brings you to the area and who will be staying with you in the house. Please be sure to register the correct number of guests so there will be no surprises once you are here. Extra guests will still be charged according to my rates even after check in. It’s better to be open and honest up front. All those traveling with you as well as those you entertain at the house will need to be informed of and be in agreement with the house rules. Please put any furniture, plates and utensils back in the original location before checking out****
Some guests have made mention of bothersome road noise. There are fans located in the closets which can be used as white noise. Ear plugs available upon request.

About the host
Hosted by Michael Daidone

I purchased the property for living in and renting out. I occupy the upstairs while my guests stay below. The amount of interaction with guests is largely dependent on the guests. Some guests in the past have had a specific agenda for visiting the area and I hardly saw them. With others, I would have great conversation over wine in the courtyard. I want to help provide a memorable experience for all my guests by providing a great place to stay in a terrific location with fun things to do.
Why they chose this property
I chose this property because it's located on the river in a mature neighborhood with large trees. Also, the proximity to the two gorgeous towns of St Charles and Geneva means there is never a shortage of fun things to do and interesting things to see. I know my guests will find this to be an ideal location.
What makes this property unique
I really love being on the river. Not only for the beauty of it but also to be able to walk my kayak over to the launch and enjoy a little morning exercise. Miles of bike trails are accessed just by crossing the street. Close to abundant shopping, amazing restaurants, live theatre, cinema, and a train station for Chicago trips.
