River front log home 3 miles from Tryon Equestrian Center, gated community
This spacious log home on 2.5wooded acres has all the comforts of home with a warm “ lived in” vibe. It can easily be shared by 2 couples. Kids love the sleeping loft. A favorite feature is the large working fireplace. Enjoy roasting marshmallows at the fire pit by the river. The living room features generous vaulted ceiling that frames your view of the tall trees out back sloping down to the Green River. A large working fire place is the focal point of the room. The main floor has a split floor plan with King master suite and Queen guest suit and a sleeping loft with 2 twins. Down stairs is off limits due to hurricane Helene damage. The cabin was built in 2003. It is a country cabin so bugs crawl and leaves fall. The ground floor was flood damaged and is being restored. I anticipate an additional two bedrooms, full bath, Family room and kitchenette will be available to guests by mid May. The river depth and access from backyard bank varies. There is not a clear path or stairs at this time.
There are a wide variety of activities close by including Tryon International Equestrian Center, trails, rafting ( check updates on hurricane Helene recovery for trails open) There are many charming villages in the area.

Our host Stephanie was right on point every time I had a question she helped me out in a very reasonable time. Very comfortable cabin you don’t need to bring much. Very safe area. Quiet with great neighbors. Would likely be staying here again.
The property was close to Tryon Equestrian Center which made handling the competition, horse and related matters very easy. Nice place to relax after a long day at the horse park. Steffanie, the Host, was fantastic to deal with!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
The property is very nice and the location was great for what we needed. However, the yard and property needs mowing and cleaning up. There was a few minor things that needed attention and all of the linens need updating. Just needs some cosmetic attention.
Loved our stay at this property. The house is well equipped, and super convenient to the Tryon Equestrian Center (about 10 minutes drive). Communication with the host was very easy too.
We were in and out since we had a horse show all weekend at TIEC, but when we were able to relax, the beds were so comfortable, the pool table was a blast and you couldn’t beat that beautiful, cool river water after a long hot day. Would absolutely love to come here again!
We enjoyed our visit! The fireplace was so cozy and the bathrooms had new towels, shower curtains, hand towels. My daughter enjoyed the pool table. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for everyone.
We had a great stay. After a long day at the horse park day one our second day was much more relaxed and we were able to come back and enjoy an afternoon on the deck hanging out, having dinner and having a fun few games of pool. I perfectly cute place with lots of extras. We so enjoyed our trip.
We had the best time at your cabin. Although it was only for two nights, we felt at home. Everything we needed was available, which made trips to the store obsolete. Thank you so much Steffanie! We will return!

Many thanks for your kind review. You are welcome back!
If you are looking for modern and updated this one is not for you. This home is older, woodsy and rustic. We were primarily at TIEC horse show and didn’t spend a great deal of time at the rental. Stairs to loft area are extremely steep and narrow. Kitchen was being treated by an exterminator during our stay therefore many dead bugs found daily in kitchen which was not ideal for food prep.
Stayed here during a horse show week and it was the perfect getaway and close enough to go back & forth. Typical older lakehouse but well loved. It was perfect for a ladies getaway. Only hitch is that 4th bedroom is only accessed via attic pull down stairs which would be great for kids.... older women not so much. Plan on definitely staying again next year!
This was an amazing place with lots of amenities. There were 5 of us, and we were never cramped. There is a lot to do in the area, and in the surrounding areas. We enjoyed the Carl Sandburg home, King’s Mountain National battlefield, the Blue Ridge Mountain highway, Smokey mountain national park, and the International Equestrian Center. Would definitely recommend this place.

The house was lovely ! Clean and tidy. It was a great location to TIEC. The 3 rd bedroom was in the loft using attic stair case so we only used the two bedrooms on main floor. Beautiful view near the river.

Thanks Kyle,
Actually the loft is listed as a 4th bedroom- don't forget there is a bedroom and full bath down stairs too. That is the 3rd bedroom.
Well I can't say enough great things about this property !!!! Clean, cozy, spacious and so homey. You will not regret staying here !!!!! There was absolutely nothing missing !!! The downstairs is the same size as the whole upstairs and you literally could take multiple families there ! So happy I chose their home and I would definitely stay there 100 more times !!!!

Thanks Lisa- I just say this nice review- come on back!
Zero negatives.....nothing but positives. If you are looking for relaxation, peace, and the ability to just unwind....this lovely home fits the bill. From the moment we arrived, it just felt good. For us, we enjoyed relaxing in the river, caught several fish (8 to be exact), tubing down to the park. As well as canoeing up and down the river. Not to mention the deer. It was just so peaceful. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely looking forward to returning. Without a doubt, a winner!!!

About the host

My parents built this log home in 2004 so that our family would have a place to gather in the summers. We have enjoyed many large family gatherings here. It is far away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives as business owners and parents of school age kids. Our family is originally from northern Ohio. We all migrated south and most of us live in southwest Florida now.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because it offers a contrast to our regular life style. We enjoy the inspiring views of the mountains and cooler weather than we get in Florida summers. The gated community of log homes provides security but the neighbors know each other and are always welcoming. Wild life is abundant here, deer, humming birds, wild turkey all visit us. There are plenty of family adventures within a 45 minute drive of the cabin.
