The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
There is a $50 fee for checking out after 11:00 a.m.
There is a one night’s stay fee (usually $102 except holidays) for checking out after 11:30 a.m. This is so we adequately prepare for next guests.
Turn to “pilot” for hall heater and turn fireplace logs OFF in winter; turn off lights and TV. Make sure all major appliances are turned off; you can leave an A/C unit on in summer.
Put keys in the key box. Message to let owner know you have checked out. Our policy is to notify the local authorities if a guest doesn't check out and doesn't respond to messages from owner.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Ben and Lori are natives of the area and know the area well. We love our beautiful "neck of the woods." Ben holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and Lori has an M.Ed. in English Education, with a background in both teaching and tutoring, creative writing, and IT design. Lori grew up in this ancestral home place and continues a long tradition of caring for the land, conservation, and love of nature. We look forward to sharing our home with you. Enjoy your stay!

The property is Lori's ancestral family home place with a rich history, flora, and fauna. The home is located close to town (but not in town). Natural beauty surrounds the area, including Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, South Mountains, Tryon, Marion, and more. Hiking and biking on the Rails to Trails is less than a mile away. The home is close to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (14 miles). We are also close to Isothermal Community College and the Foundation Performing Arts Center, the Rutherford Regional Airport, and the Rutherford Hospital.
