This is a repeat stay for us. It is excellent property and as described, clean, and convenient to where we needed to be for our trip! Highly recommended.
We all just loved the historic farmhouse! It’s big and cozy and the hosts are without a doubt the most accommodating hosts I’ve ever stayed with! You are close in, but feel worlds away.
We rented this cabin for an event at Tryon Equestrian Center. We were very pleased with the location of the home, the character of the home, and the cleanliness. The owners were very nice and despite being next door respected our privacy completely. Would definitely recommend this spot!
We stayed at the gorgeous old farmhouse for a week during the summer horse shows at the Tryon equestrian center. The location was very convenient and the owners were very helpful and wonderful to work with. The home was clean and it was so unique to stay in such a historic property. We will definitely stay again!
We loved this place! This is a lovely house with a lot of history, but with all modern amenities, too. The setting is gorgeous and we all felt very safe there. I loved sitting on the back deck in the morning, and in the afternoon watching the deer eat in the yard. It's an extraordinary place and I would recommend it highly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Perfect location for events at TIEC, charming, cozy, and clean property, and wonderfully hospitable hosts! Lots of nice touches - kitchen was stocked with coffee, snacks, juice, bottled water, chocolates and cookies! And the history of the home is amazing! Will definitely return!
It’s like you stepped back in time (late 1700’s), but with all of the modern conveniences!! If you are a history buff or just want a one of a kind wonderful experience, you have to stay here.
I loved the house and area. So much history, comfort, and privacy. My grown sons were with me and are making plans to come back with spouses. The grandchildren want to return also we had a grand time
this was our second time staying here, and we loved it just as much this time as the last time. It is such a cool house with a lot of character. The kitchen is well stocked, the house is clean, the bathrooms are nice, and the beds are all comfortable. the Internet was having problems while we were there, but outside of that it was perfect. It is especially great if you were showing at TIEC, it takes 10 minutes or less to get there from the house.
What a wonderful stay! Three women for a weekend visit to the Tryon International Equestrian Center and we had a great time. The pictures do not do this property justice, it is lovely and quaint. The owners stocked it with all our basic necessities which was wonderful. The history was fascinating. If you are looking to stay in the area, do yourself a favor and book it!
Daniel and Marie Paule have made this 200+ year old farm house a delightful place to relax and enjoy being with friends and family. Everything was well thought out and very functional. Read the history of the farm house that Daniel has put together. Everything becomes real and alive. I cannot give it a better rating 11 out of 10!
The property and house were exactly as we imagined based on the pictures. We sat drinking morning coffee watching deer and turkey come to feed. Very relaxing and quiet location.
Daniel and Marie are excellent hosts - every detail was considered in the house. Our family had a wonderful time and will definitely return!
Read reviews referencing the hospitality of this couple. All true. Look forward to returning with more family, and laughing some more with them. The farmhouse is so neat and clean. Has everything one could need. Highly recommend.
Cozy and comfortable historic home. Just what we needed for us, 2 grown kids and their spouses, and one grandchild. Lots of visitors...deer and squirrels! Peaceful retreat. We really enjoyed the fire pit as well as getting to know the hosts and the history of the house. Thank you, Marie-Paule and Daniel!
We had a wonderful stay at the historic farmhouse, which is less than 10 minutes to TIEC. The farmhouse itself was better than what the website and pictures showed. It was clean, comfortable., and had all the necessities you would need. The owners made us feel welcome with beautiful flowers and chocolate to greet us. We will definitely stay there again when we horse show at TIEC.
Pleasant late winter retreat near NC High Country.
We booked last minute for a three-day weekend retreat. Place is amazing, takes you back (in a good way). Wild deer are just morning neighbors on the property - which our children loved. House is perfect for families and friends and has a lot of history (colonial times) which the owner has recorded and shared. Only regret was not bringing more family or friends to share the experience.

Wonderful weekend wedding venue!
The farmhouse is a jewel- we felt like we had traveled back in time but still enjoyed all of the comforts of the 21st century. We rented the house for my daughter and son-in-law’s small outdoor wedding, and Daniel and Marie-Paule were truly welcoming and gracious hosts. The rustic barns and spring flowers created the perfect setting for a small, intimate wedding. My husband and I want to go back again when we can enjoy the farmhouse for ourselves.
At the moment we walked into the house, my sister and I felt very welcomed. The farmhouse was more than we could have imagined, beautiful but it felt as if stepping back in time which is why we wanted to come. Very comfortable, very roomy, and peaceful. We will return. Thank you Marie for making us feel right at home.
This is where we will stay anytime we are in the area. The house is so much more than the pictures on the website. Anything we forgot to bring, it was already there. So well appointed, one of the best beds I have slept in. Sheets, towels, everything top notch. The owners were so gracious, we enjoyed a glass of wine..or two with them. Just lovely .
Loved all the wildlife. My pups came too and were welcome. Looking forward to staying again with Daniel and Marie-Paule.
