Located in a Historic District on the Slope above Downtown San Diego, this beautiful Queen Ann Victorian accommodates up to 2 guests. This unit comes with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living area and a full size kitchen. No expense was spared in the design of this highly upgraded unit which features views of the Ocean, Coronado Bridge and the islands off the coast from the property's front porch. No expense was spared in the layout and design of this unit which is modern classic. The living area features a leather sofa, large LED smart TV, dining table and chairs, ceiling fan and in-wall air conditioner. The kitchen is beautifully upgraded complete with everything you will need to cook your own meals during your stay with us. The bathroom is separate from the bedrooms and equipped with plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a blow dryer. There are Queen size beds in each of 2 separate bedrooms. Both Queen beds have memory foam mattresses which are very comfortable. Each bedroom also has a ceiling fan, in-wall air conditioner and a high definition LED smart TV with cable access and streaming capability. Additional features include a Backyard common areas with Barbecue Grill, Gazebo with table and chairs and Outdoor Fireplace. Our property is located 5 minutes driving distance to the Convention Center, Gas Lamp district, Ball Park, Coronado Island, the Airport, Balboa Park and the Zoo. Freeway access is located around the corner and bus stop transits to and from downtown can be found within a block. All local beaches are within easy driving distance of the property. Some of Golden Hill’s most popular spots such as the Turf Club, Panchitas Bakery, Krakatoa Coffee Shop, Luigi's Pizza and Golden Hill Park are all within easy walking distance. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and Coronado Bay Bridge views from the patio table and chairs provided on the front porch. There is an on-site laundry. The property was in low standards all around - we had no hot water for the first 3 days, there were hairs in tub when we arrived, no operational tub stop, no linens for crib, old sofa that the pillows can’t remain on it.
Landlord was communicative, replaced tub stop, brought linens, and took care of hot water issues.
Exactly as shown. Good communication. Great location-safe and $10-13 Uber to most tourist sights.
Would stay here again. Felt safe in the neighborhood. Modern upgraded apartment with comfy beds and A/C in every room. Host was very attentive and in contact for anything if we needed.
My family and I really enjoyed staying here. We were comfortable and had everything we needed. The unit was very clean, comfortable beds, and the location of the unit was perfect. We were fairly close to a lot of places. Would definitely stay here again if we ever travel to SD again. Ps the only issue we came across was finding a parking spot at night.

Property was great but not within walking distance to anything. Neibourhood had great food but I wouldnt walk out after dark.
The unit was very cute & clean. The owner John very responsive. The location was as described, however I wish I had researched it more. Parking on the street was not ideal considering the location. However, the view while having morning coffee on the front porch was interesting. Christmas morning we saw a parade of older vehicles go by with Santa & Mrs Claus.
First, let me start off by stating that the communication was excellent. I had a lot of questions and concerns due to this being my first time using something like Vrbo. They responded quickly and were very accommodating.
The unit was nice and in a great location.
My only gripe would be parking as it's first come, first serve street parking... but this is a problem everywhere in SD.
We made a very last minute decision to come down to San Diego and booked 24hrs out. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived - it photographs a little dark but it was bright and comfortable. We didn’t spend much time in the unit during the days as we were exploring San Diego, but it was a great location to easily get to the Zoo and SeaWorld. The owner was in contact to make sure we were comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen seemed recently updated. It’s an older building so the walls are a little thin, but that’s to be expected. Hope our 4yo and 10mo weren’t a nuisance - because they enjoyed our stay as well.
Such a comfortable, clean, home-like place to stay. The owner was available & responsive without being intrusive. We loved the already stocked coffee supplies, shampoos, & streaming TV that made it so convenient and home-like. Neighborhood was safe and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and wished it was longer.
Came to see grandson before he deployed. Location was smack dab in the center of airport and Naval base. John was awesome as far as communication. We mostly hung out just being with each other. We spent a day at the zoo and my recommendation is to do 2 days. 1/2 the park one day and the other 1/2 a different day. Can get be a long day. I'd also try to find out best time for animals. Most were hiding or sleeping. Orangutans were the most entertaining. Thank again John
Property was as advertised, clean, safe, updated and nicely appointed.
AC Units worked great TV in bedrooms and living area were a plus. Very nice cookware, etc..
The owner checking in on us to make sure everything was OK was very nice.
Parking at this time of year was an issue and although somewhat close to downtown including PETCO Ballpark, (~2miles) I would NOT recommend walking during these times., especially at night.
Getting on/off the I-5 was very easy. About a 10 min drive to Mission Beach and less to Balboba Park

This VRBO impressed us from the moment we walked in. Everything was so clean and beautifully decorated. We didn’t have even one issue our entire stay. The host kept in constant communication with us just to make sure we were ok and always asking if we needed anything. I HIGHLY recommend this property to others and would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed our stay with all the amenities you would need even for the beach! Parking was simple and the unit was quiet within. We sat out and had coffee (which as provided) every morning on the front porch. The beds were not our beds at home but we were comfy. John was on top of everything and available anytime something was needed. Thank you!!
Property owner did a great job of keeping in contact and checking in! Very clean and located in a convenient area. Parking could be a bit tricky at times but other than that we really enjoyed our stay!
Nice location close to downtown, waterfront, Balboa Park and many playgrounds for the grandkids. Was concerned about street parking but turned out to be no problem. Excellent communication with the owner. Will definitely be on the list for future visits.

Very clean and the communication with owner was awesome. However much smaller than it looks on VRBO and although you have your own space it is not very private. The neighborhood is very, very busy and parking is difficult. Car a must if you're staying here.
The whole process, from booking to checkin to checkout, was smooth and easy. The property manager was accessible whenever needed with prompt replies. The unit was nice and in a great location! We’d definitely stay again.
We loved our stay at this home and in San Diego it! John was great and was always immediately responsive. We had everything we needed and the location was close to everything! We would stay here again!

I grew up in Northampton Massachusetts, a town with countless beautiful old homes and lots of woods. I spent countless days in my youth building tree forts never knowing that those 2 dynamics would intersect at this point. Upon arriving in San Diego with an interest in building and purchasing real estate, I became immediately interested in the largely neglected Victorian buildings in this area of town. This property became a labor of love for me many years ago and I hope that legacy will be carried forward by my 3 sons. My wife if Japanese, so our family often divides our time between 2 very different worlds, both with much to offer.
