As a bonus you are about 100 yards away from the highly-rated Black River Valley Pub. A local eatery since 1978 open 4 evenings a week featuring one of the best fish frys in the area with the largest variety of fish entrees within 40 miles, along with prime rib on Saturday nights. During the winter ski season there is usually live entertainment on Fridays and/or Saturdays in the evening.

Great spot for doggos!
Our dogs loved the yard and home comfort of the cabin. Very close to quite a few waterfalls, the harbor and the Copper Peak ski jump. Awesome to bike from to all those spots or hike. Highly recommend if you have dogs. Sad we didn't get to try the pub next door, but we will next time!

Cozy & Dog-friendly
This is a cozy little cabin which we selected because of the location and dog-friendly policy. It is a great value, although it does sit on a fairly busy road so you need to have very well-behaved dogs or keep them on a leash. The linens were clean and it had everything we needed. We appreciated having dinner at the pub next door when we arrived after a long drive.

Nice northwoods place to stay
Cozy yet plenty of space for two. Several light switches didn't seem to do anything - perhaps bulbs burned out but we made do. Lots of coffee makers, but wish there would've been a kettle to boil water for tea, etc. Internet and cable tv was a bit flaky, losing signal several times a show. Shower water controller was corroded making it challenging to get the right water temp (not too hot or cold). Minor concerns for an overall nice experience.

About the host

Retired from the Chicago area in 2013. Bought the cabin next door in 2010 and moved up here in 2013.

Why they chose this property

Always enjoyed the small town feel and the rural setting. Own and live in the cabin next door, and when this property became available in 2017 purchased it as a guest house for family and friends. Now want to share this relaxing lifestyle and area with others.

What makes this property unique

Quiet peaceful nights, star gazing, sitting around the campfire after a day of fishing, skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc.
Plus all the modern conveniences of home in a relaxing setting.
Even rainy days can be fun for the family bonding over a board game around the dining room table.
