About this property
Cozy cabin on Lake Martin within 30 miles to Toomers Corner and Auburn Football
Our cozy cabin is a great place for Auburn weekends or a relaxing getaway. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two bedrooms have queen beds and the other has two bunkbed sets so it can sleep a total of eight. There is a sleeper sofa in the den If needed. The den, kitchen and the breakfast area are all very open with high ceilings. On the water side there’s a huge deck for grilling and entertaining and a second deck down closer to the Water for hanging out.
Things to do in the area.....
New water farms is right around the corner. During warm months, they offer a non-denominational church service Sunday mornings @ 9:00 you can go by boat or take a stroll over or drive over. More info on ACC website. Auburn Community Church. It’s very casual shorts and tshirts are fine.
Lake Martin Grocery and a new Kinect fitness center are nearby on Hwy 34. Dollar General five minutes away on highway 49. Renfros Grocery is downtown if you’d fancy some southern deli food. Jacks and McDonalds are right there too. There are many restaurants within a ten minute drive…..Poplar dogs ( deli sandwiches) Niffers Place, Oskars (seafood and famous cheese balls), Prime Steakhouse and Lake Martin Pizza has fabulous garlic knots. Downtown Dadeville is charming and offers several yummy restaurants….Camellia cafe, Millers on Broadnax, The Funky Goat. Or if you want a scenic boat ride head to Chucks Marina (pizza).
Renting a boat? Go to chimney rock 30-40 min boat ride. You can google. Please be careful if the kids jump off the rock ledges.
Also in Auburn is a Robert Trent Jones course for golfing.
Smith mountain fire tower is about 10 minutes away (easily googled) is a good 2 mile hike to the top and then climb the fire tower. You get a good view of the entire lake. It’s breathtaking. Or you can hike at Chewacla State Park in Auburn...it’s got creeks and just beautiful as well.
If shopping is your thing there’s The Market Square (antiques)in Alex city (about25 min). On Thursdays they offer hot fresh sourdough bread and other southern goodies. Or you can spend a couple of hours walking around Angel's Antiques in Opelika and Tiger Town has a lot to offer. Need a new outfit? Ellaby Boutique in Dadeville has cute things.
Auburn University has a ton of restaurants and it’s very family friendly. Some favs are Little Italy, Bow and Arrow, the Hound, Amsterdam Cafe, and all the chain restaurants. If you go to campus you must grab a glass of lemonade from the famous Toomers Corner.
Thank you for viewing our little cabin on the lake.

About the host
Hosted by Randy and Toni Nolin / Lee and Nan Ellis

Hello, we are the Nolin and Ellis families. The Nolins reside in Guntersville, Alabama. Randy and Toni are now empty nesters with two daughters recently graduating from Auburn University and absolutely love Auburn and Lake Martin. The Ellis family hails from the Atlanta area and have a daughter that has been brainwashed to attend Auburn University as well. Lee and Randy have been friends since childhood and both served long careers together in the military. In 1985, Randy talked Lee into joining the Alabama Army National Guard with him (and Lee has been trying to get out ever since). They have both been successful in their military careers, but somehow never able to outrank their wives. They were roommates at Auburn and still love to get together at the lake when they can.
Why they chose this property
A cute, cozy cabin with direct lake access, a private pier to secure water toys, and quick access to Auburn.
What makes this property unique
Super friendly neighborhood on a quiet, secluded inlet. Nice upper and lower decks for entertaining or just hanging out. Several excellent restaurants nearby (Niffer's on the Lake, Poplar Dawgs, Oskar's, Lake Martin Pizza, and Chuck's Marina). Stop at Refroe's Grocery at the corner of 280 and 49 to pick up all your BBQ goodies and check out their excellent deli on your way in. For a quick bite, McDonalds, Jacks, and Subway are also at that intersection. At the corner of 34 and 49, you can find a pharmacy, a Dollar General, and two gas stations.
