This lovely Hanalei Bay vacation rental home, is a classic Hawaiian style pole house - suspended on poles and giving the house fabulous circulation from the cooling ocean breezes. The location and the views are unbeatable for a relaxing beach vacation. From nearly every room in the house you can see Kawaikini and the stunning Makana ridge (also known as Bali Ha'i), these mountains are often flowing with beautiful waterfalls and we have a bird's eye view of the third green of the Makai golf course.

This three bedroom villa is located walking distance to nearly everything you want to do in Hawaii - from surfing, snorkeling, golf, lovely walks and paddle boarding. The One Hotel and the Princeville headland, are less than 100 meters from the Villa. The fun and funky town of Hanalei is about a ten minute drive from the villa.

The famous Prince golf course is also less than 10 minute drive from the villa. The Prince is ranked as Golf Digest’s #1 Golf Course in Hawaii and one of America’s Top 100 Greatest Courses.

A designated parking place is only steps away from our front door.

Hike the Kalalau trail, snorkel Ke'e or Tunnels - you are only a short drive away! Hideaways, the best snorkeling on the island, in my opinion , is right across the road from our house, a five minute walk. Unsurpassed sunsets over Bali Ha'i may be enjoyed nightly from the ocean bluff just a three minute walk up the road.

This lovely villa has an open plan living room, dining area and kitchen with fabulous high vaulted ceilings and sliding glass doors leading out to a lanai - the perfect place for you to enjoy everything from your morning coffee to evening cocktails while you watch the sunset.

The living and dining room are very comfortable and there is a flat screen TV with cable.

The kitchen has granite counter tops and is extremely well equipped, much more like a home than a vacation rental, perfect for preparing great meals for friends and family. The whole of this upstairs area has dramatic views of Makana Ridge, Hanalei Bay and the Makana golf course. There is a half bath on this floor. You can enjoy both sunrise and sunsets from the home's two private lanais.

There are three bedrooms downstairs. The master bedroom has a California king bed, TV, ensuite master bathroom and a private lanai, with more of the same beautiful views of the bay, the Makai golf course and mountain waterfalls. The second bedroom has a queen bed and more beautiful views of the mountains, golf course and Hanalei Bay. The third bedroom has 2 twin beds, and just like the other bedrooms, it has beautiful views of the mountains and golf course. Bedroom 2 & 3 share a bathroom. The twin room has a chest of drawers for clothing, and shares a bath with the queen bedroom.

Island motif is felt throughout the home along with great circulation from all sides of the villa, which helps to catch the island breezes on those warm days and nights.

Nice stay, nice views. Location is great right by the public path down to a great beach in front of the One Hotel. The unit itself could use a refresh on furniture, and a couple basics supplied in the kitchen (cooking oil and salt/pepper). The chairs, umbrella, and beach towels were a nice addition.

Sorry to say, the furniture was grimy from hand oil buildup and the cushion fabric was stained and dirty…Kitchen had less than basic needs in terms of utensils …No laundry detergent furnished…no light bulbs for replacing burned out ones.. no power strip in the small bedroom…the website stated that there was a blow dryer furnished, and there was none to be found.. Not enough paper products furnished for the seven nights stay… lack of air-conditioning was not mentioned on the website… Very uncomfortable with the heatThe only positive feature of the unit… Was the view off the back patio …excellent viewTelephone for The host Owner was disconnected!!!

Thank you so much for this helpful review, Malcom. The homeowners are there now, and they are very seriously addressing your concerns with our on-island management company. I'm sorry you didn't see our explanation about there being no air conditioners allowed at any of the Hanalei Bay Villas. The homeowner's regulations do not allow them with the current technology available, which is why we are proud and happy to have the ability to open windows on all four sides of our free-standing house. This allows for cooling cross-drafts to circulate throughout as soon as the shutters are opened, allowing us to enjoy the fragrant tropical breezes - and also why there are fans in every room. We regret that we are unable to provide all of the personal products our guests might need for their entire stays. That's why we say, ". . . until you can get to the store to do your shopping." I'm so glad you enjoyed our spectacular views! We often make a game out of counting the numerous waterfalls on the mountains across the bay after a rainstorm!

View is great - location is great with HotelOne nearby for coffee, cocktails, food and water views. However, even in January the unit was very very hot during the day. A few mini split units would have been very welcome.

This is due to the Property Management decisions regarding noise. Because the villa is two stories tall, and has screened windows and doors on all four sides, we manage to allow the fans and the tropical breezes to keep the house cool and pleasant when we are there. Omg! If this is available and meets your needs by all means jump on it.I just spend 47 days in Princeville , staying at 4 different places . This was by far the best.Simply amazing, owners who are responsive and you can tell are nice people in life.The listing notes one parking space . The unit has parking in a lot with 5 spaces for the 5 units and 3 extra spaces.We had two cars and parking was a concern. The owners wrote a very considerate response to my inquiry and got me an answer , and assuaged my concerns, all over the weekend no less.Physically stunning, prime location , nicely appointed , sensible and nice. Worth every penny , can not wait to go back .The property is close to everything , and is literally across the street from an amazing beach. I could go on forever, these are very nice, very considerate people offering an amazing opportunity. Do yourself a favor and take it!!!

Perfect location! The view is breathtaking and so close to Hanalei. It was very warm a few days so air conditioning would have been nice but we quickly acclimated to island breezes to cool us.

This was our 25th wedding anniversary trip and we enjoyed our stay. Very good communication. Everything was great! The house was even better than described and the views were beautiful! Walk to nearby beaches. We saw lots of rainbows from the lanais. No a/c needed due to the air flow through the home. We’d love to come back again!

Great location in Princeville! Beautiful views of the lush green mountains from the balconies! We also enjoyed watching golf players attempting their par 3 on the nearby golf course. Walking distance to Hideaways beach and 1 Hotel for fancier dinners. Kitchen is fully equipped. Quick 5 minute drive to Foodland grocery store and 10 min drive to Hanalei Bay town with plenty of dining and shopping options. Rooms were perfect and the washer and dryer were very handy. An AC would have been the cherry on top but the fans made it manageable on warmer nights. Highly recommended!

The subject has come up again with the homeowner's association but so far no conclusion has been reached. In the meantime, the cross breezes from the many windows in the two-story "pole houses" along with the fragrant island air (and the sound of Hawaiian birds) have been enough to make our own stays more than pleasant. Great location. Walkable to several things. Certainly warm when it rains and the humidity is high (no a/c) but fine as soon as it stops raining. I know having snorkel gear is just a bonus, but was very disappointed when we hiked to tunnels beach and only realized once we were there that the snorkel gear was defective. Beach chairs and umbrella were great!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your vacation, Laura! It can get warm without air conditioning, but none of the Hanalei Bay Villas are allowed to have air conditioning for specific reasons (which I am not clear on.) We personally feel that the fragrant trade winds are a good trade-off when the windows are open to them, and the pole houses have windows on all four sides. We never promise any beach toys or equipment because we have no way of knowing if they have been damaged or lost since we were there. So sorry that you ended up with defective gear. I'll ask our on-island management company to get rid of the damaged stuff and recommend to oue next guests that they buy or rent their own. Thanks for taking the time to write this review!

Perfect layout for our stay with 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 kids under 10. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes but is pretty bare bones as far as spices/oil/etc so make sure you grab your own at the store : )
