Exit 222 #1 Sweet cottage retreat! lake/beach 3 blocks away.Trails 1/4th mile

We are located 15 to 20 miles from west branch, houghton lake and higgins lake. Lake Saint Helen is only 1/8th of a mile from the cottage an all sports lake with excellent fishing. We are about 1 mile from the orv trailhead. The town of st. Helen allows orv's on local roads as long as you have a sticker which can be purchased right in town. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We don't mind if renters need extra room they may bring a tent. With permission. We do have wi-fi but no cable. The 2 public beaches are very nice, cove dr. Offers grills and basketball and volleyball. The kayak launch is at the public boat launch right next to the boat launch all are within walking distance from the cabin.
St. Helen and the surrounding areas have lots to offer including canoe trips in roscommon, you can also rent a pontoon on lake st. Helen at the marina. And if you like the trails St. Helen powersports and razr ripn rentals both offer sxs rentals for the day or weekends. There are tons of great thrift stores in houghton, roscommon and west branch.
We do have a fire pit and a grill on the property if you would like to have a cook out or enjoy the beautiful night sky. We have awesome night skys due to higher elevation which is perfect for star gazing.
This is a cozy little cabin perfect for a couple looking to unplug and enjoy nature.

The day of arrival I give info on entry and location of wifi password and our guest book with local restaurants and attractions that may be of interest.

Thank you...we are close to the trails and you can ride your orv right from the house to the trailhead as long as you have stickers. The lake is also only 1/8 of a mile with public access beach and boat launch. The lovely part about St. HELEN you can ride your SxS, atv's on any of the roads. It is our favorite spot for sure. Perfect overnight stay

We only stayed one night passing through but it was very clean and the owner communicated with us very well. We are familiar with the area so even though we didn’t have time to enjoy it, it is very close to the beach and boat launch.

Should’ve been on the titanic, would’ve had a better experience! Worst professionalism, and public relations that I’ve ever experienced. No TV as in advertised even though streaming was a possibility if we would’ve paid for our own personal app. Not explained in any of the advertising. Owner offered no assistance. Even though she sent her boyfriend over who failed to get the TV’s Working. We left the afternoon of the first of two nights! Owner refused with rude remarks to offer not a single offer of any $$ refund! Strongly recommend you stay in a tent and not her cottage!

Dear Margaret, you are correct...I have it listed that I do not have TV or cable. Renting a vrbo is not like renting a hotel where you can come check in and check out and someone else may come along and rent the place back out the same night. In my listing I clearly start no cable. Cancelation policy is in place and I mentioned that to you before you decided to leave. I'm so sorry you decided not to stay due to no TV, most of our business come from people enjoying the outdoors including riding the trails or going to the lake. I have been renting my cabin out for 18 years before these sites were even available. I'm sorry if you felt I was rude, I was simply letting you know that no money would be reimbursed due to the cancelation policy already in place. Take care and God bless!

This is our personal cabin Sue. I'm not sure why you thought it was necessary to come in and rearrange my whole cabin but it wasn't appreciated one bit. I do keep my personal belongings and food in the cabin because we use it too. You caused me alot of extra work that was not appreciated one bit. Take care and stay safe. I'm glad reviews work both ways because in the 3 yrs I have never had a guest cause me so much extra work.

Very nice and clean overall. Would help if there was a phone number to communicate with the property owner when a question arises. Could not find the key. A description of the location was given on an e-mail but when I went back to retreive I couldn't find it. Eventually found the key so all was well.

Ohhh no Lindsey, I answered right back to all of your questions immediately. And I gave you the house address and info on the key early morning the day of arrival as I always do. I agree this sight is not user friendly at all and competition has it beat hands down. I have called and asked them to work out the glitches several times, maybe if some travelers do the same it may help. The competition is a American company and their site is way more user friendly. I'm sorry we only earned a 4/5 star that blows our rank. This is a cabin not the tajama hall. Take care and stay safe!

Great little get away!!!

Our family had a great time!! Kelli the owner of property was amazing. She was prompt at answering messages. So helpful. She offered us a early check in .The little cabin was quaint. Had all the necessitys needed. Had a nice Campfire. Close to the Lake! Went kayaking And enjoyed fishing on lake st helen. caught quite a few fish. We enjoyed our get away very much. We would come back here anytime !!!
