Everything we needed was there.. Beautiful home, excellent location, anything you need is at your fingertips? I would recommend this home to anyone who would like a fabulous day in Highlands North Carolina.
Beautiful home! Great location! The home had all the amenities. We had a fire in the living room fireplace, football on the tv, played games, made homemade meals and just truly had a wonderful time with family.
We were delighted to stay in Bonnie Cottage. The kitchen had everything we would have had at our home. Multiple spaces allowed us to gather and easily enjoy one another in this mountain refuge. We ate, gathered and played games at the dining room table. Library nooks and chairs were a favorite spot. We never turned on the television as there was much to do. There were 2 porches, one on the main level and one below which has a swing. From the porches we enjoyed the sunshine and the beautiful view. The home had air conditioning (while it is cooler in the mountains, sometimes air conditioning is an added plus). The decor was lovely, uplifting and so welcoming. And, most of all the owner was welcoming, responsive and a pleasure to work with. Many thanks for a great visit! We would definitely stay here again as it was wonderful for our family.
We absolutely loved the house and property. Wendi was very responsive to everything we needed. Beautiful home and view! We will definitely stay there in the future.
This wonderful house is the perfect home for the beauty of the setting, location to town, gorgeous kitchen stocked with all necessities, and a family to enjoy. We all loved it.
Exceptionally clean! Great kitchen and dinning area. Family rm was very comfortable for all 9 of us. Always received a quick reply from our host whenever I had a question.
This is a really nice home located perfectly for shopping and sight seeing in Highlands (just a few minutes away) and Cashiers (15 minutes). Very nice size home with plenty of space for folks to spread out - clean and easy to communicate with owners. We have rented this home multiple times.
Spacious property, perfect location, kids loved the ping pong!

We rented Bonnie Cottage for a family weekend and everything was great. Communication with the owners was easy, the house is set up nicely, and the views were amazing. We will definitely be staying here again!
This was my second stay at this property and it was just as pleasant as the first. The property is clean, conveniently located, comfortable and the property owner is easy to work with. I highly recommend this property

Why they chose this property
It is a dream come true for us to have a home in the Highlands. We have been coming here for almost 24 years and are thrilled to be able to share our love of the Highlands with you and your family. We love being close to downtown Highlands and the Bascom Arts Center, with all of the beauty of nature and a winter view of Satula Mountain. It is nice to have a short drive (about 5 minutes) from town in case you need milk or just driving home after dinner, it is so close that it is very convenient. That was one of the most important criteria for us. The home was originally built by an engineer, so it is well built and it has a generator in case the power goes off, all wide plank hardwood floors, fresh paint and all new furniture and decor. We were also impressed that it has a great air filter and it smelled fresh and was well cared for! The landscaping is gorgeous, with laurel trees, and beautiful native plants with a paver driveway, sidewalk and even a little secret garden in the front yard! It is private without being far away and isolated from town.
What makes this property unique
Since one of the owners is an artist, there is a lot of original artwork for you to enjoy during your stay. We wanted a home with a bath tub, and this one has 2 huge bathtubs with an instant hot water heater, and 3 separate showers so that several people can get ready at once. There are 2 huge bedrooms upstairs, both having 2 queen beds each, and each one has reading nooks, which we love. There is a library with a fun collection of books to read in front of a huge picture window with leather recliners and views of nature on the main floor. There is also a coffee bar upstairs with a Keurig and a Bunn coffee maker in the kitchen because we believe that coffee is important to a fun vacation get-away. We also leave guests with a complimentary bottle of wine to enjoy. All of the mattresses are new, as are the linens, comforters and pillows. Fresh towels, linens and toiletries are provided. There is a full sized washer and dryer off the kitchen. Laundry detergent is provided for your convenience, as are dryer sheets. There is a swing on the lower deck to enjoy and adirondack chairs with a gas grill and small table on the upper deck. The main room has a farm table and comfortably seats 6. There is a full kitchen with a trash compactor. We have a bear proof trash can and weekly trash service.
