Fabulous lake home 1-1.5 hrs from the Cities. There is an abundance of space, but still warm and cozy. Feels like you are on the water with spectacular lake views from every room. Flat yard for games; patio, fire pit. Amazing loft with custom beds, additional entertainment area. Horseshoe lake is a highly desirable, 400 ac lake, full recreational - tubing, skiing, swimming, fishing. Awesome pontoon boat with 90 hp motor available for rent. Perfect for families, romantic getaways, ladies' weekends, fishing trips, or relaxing holidays. Close to ATV, snowmobile, hiking and cross country trails.

Welcome to Horseshoe Haven!

Enjoy the charm of cabin life, but with all of the modern amenities. Our lake home is open, spacious, light and airy but still feels warm and inviting.

Upon entering, you are greeted with breathtaking views of Horseshoe Lake and a feeling that you are on top of the water.

The kitchen is open and updated, with rustic industrial farmhouse touches. There is a custom farmhouse table and all of the amenities of a fully equipped kitchen, including microwave, dishwasher, Keurig, toaster, blender, crock pot, pots and pans, dishes, and cooking utensils.

The family room is exceptionally comfortable, with a large sectional, two modern club chairs, an entertainment curio that houses a BluRay player, and a 55" tv that allows for relaxation along with extensive windows for gorgeous views of the lake.

The den has a couch that pulls out into a double bed, chair with ottoman, vaulted ceilings, fireplace, 40" tv and more windows for an expansive view of the lake.

Bedroom 1 has a king size log bed with Tuft and Needle mattress, closet and luggage racks.

Bedroom 2 has a log bunkbed with Serta Perfect Sleeper mattresses (twin over double), a closet and luggage racks.

Bedroom 3 has a queen size log bed with tempurpedic mattress, log nightstands and log dresser. There is a wall of windows overlooking the lake and walks out onto the lakeside patio.

The Loft is an amazing spacious area with a custom "bed train" - 3 built in pine queen beds with Serta Perfect Sleeper mattresses.
The loft also has another entertaining area with a large sectional with a pull-out queen bed, 40" tv, Playstation, Xbox, video games, movies, and a large variety of board games. There is even a custom log poker table with log chairs and a shuffleboard table for your enjoyment!

There are two bathrooms - one on the main level and one in the lower level, both with showers. Hairdryer and plush towels included.

Outdoors - The balcony with chairs overlooking the lake is a relaxing place to sit and have a cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening while watching the sunset.

The walkout level has a patio with a custom made farmhouse table with benches and several extra chairs for seating. There is also a large wicker sectional with thick, comfortable cushions and a coffee table. A relaxing hammock from Key West hangs by the water's edge - a perfect place for an afternoon nap!

The yard is perfect to play yard games such as corn hole and ladder golf. There are comfortable Adirondack chairs around a fire pit. Gathering around a camp fire, roasting marshmallows and sharing stories is where so many memories are made!

Horseshoe Lake is one of the most desirable lakes in the area. It is 400 acres in size, the water is clean and the lake is deep, making it excellent for boating, skiing, tubing, swimming and fishing. A floating swim raft increases the fun for kids and adults alike. Access to a paddle boat, canoe, three kayaks and two standup paddle boards included (seasonally).

We have a gorgeous, deluxe Bennington G series pontoon boat available to rent. It has plush sectional couch seating, club chairs, table, a Bimini top, premier sound system and lighting, live well for fishing, ladder for swimming, tanning deck, and a 115 hp Yamaha motor - all the bells and whistles! A pontoon boat is an absolute must in order to fully enjoy the lake!

Moms weekend away.

We had a great time, enjoyed the decor, the Christmas tree was a wonderful touch, the game table up stairs perfect for us. We enjoyed the Ms Pac-Man machine and the kitchen to prepare our meals. The layout was nice and gave us plenty of room to all be together or have time to ourselves. Jen is an amazing communicator and explained everything perfectly. Would love to come back!

Great house, great location

Rented Horseshoe Haven for an annual weekend gathering of college friends. We had 10 people in our group and the house was perfect. It's very big, with ample sleeping quarters plus a great loft area for playing cards, board games and video games. Despite of the size of our group, the expansive layout allows guests to spread out, do different activities and not feel like they're trampling on each other. The house is also beautifully situated on Horseshoe Lake. You're out in nature and yet only a 5 minute drive to downtown Turtle Lake. This house met all our expectations and more. We will definitely rent this house again.

MN MEA WEEKEND

Our family enjoyed a wonderful 3 nights up on Horseshoe Haven over MN MEA weekend. The fall colors were beautiful and lake was so peaceful. The house worked great for us, only downfall for us were the bathrooms were small and not many mirrors, and this only affected us because we are a family of girls :) Would not keep us from staying again, we made do. Jen was so easy to work with and very accommodating to all of our needs. The kids and adults loved the game table of 80's video games. The house is very warm and inviting. All in all we had a great weekend and can't wait to come back and enjoy the lake and fishing more (in a little warmer weather). The short drive from SE MN was so convenient and Turtle Lake and Clayton were both fun little towns to socialize in for a bit. Looking forward to our next stay.

Jen and Lee are absolutely amazing from start to finish! The booking was very simple, all questions were addressed very prompt and they both were assuring that we had everything we needed. Their home was even better than what the photos show and everything we needed to cook/clean was there. Jen said all we needed to bring was our food and that was exactly it. The pontoon was beautiful, definitely worth the rental fee if you're looking to get out on the lake and soak up the sun. The kids had such a great time as well using the paddle boards and kayaks, there was never a dull moment for any of us. We would do it all over again. If you are looking for a nice getaway with the family, or even just a group of friends this is the place to go. We have already talked about planning another weekend at Horseshoe Haven!

Annual Girls Get Away

Jen was very easy to work with. The house worked very well for our group and was very clean. As it was winter, the walk to the house was clear of ice. This is something we haven't always seen at other rentals and was very appreciated. The location on the lake allows for beautiful views. If our weekend takes us to the area again, we would look to rent this house again. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Boys Weekend Hunting Trip

Great cabin (Lake Home)! Recently spent 3 nights at this beautiful home located on Horseshoe Lake with my brother & sons. Came up for the deer hunting opener, but my first thought after seeing the view from the back of the home, was fishing. We had 5 in our group, but the home could easily handle groups up to 10. Smaller kitchen, but had everything you would need. 3 separate TV areas with comfortable couches in each area. Nice game room up stairs with beautiful poker table. Beds and bedrooms all very comfortable. Smaller back yard (which we did not use), but there is large dock and nice outside deck over looking the lake. Overall - great place, would definitely consider staying here again. Owners are friendly and easy to work with.

Why they chose this property

Turtle Lake is an easy drive from the Twin Cities, which can include a scenic drive through Taylors Falls or Stillwater.

Close to St. Croix Casino, restaurants and bars, bowling alley, Comstock Creamery, and the quaint shops of Cumberland.

Our cabin is in Polk County, which is home to multiple wineries, St. Croix National Riverway, Wisconsin Interstate State Park, Fawn-Doe-Rosa Wildlife Educational Park, Trollhaugen Outdoor Recreational Area (skiing, zipline and aerial park), golf courses, St. Croix Falls Mini Golf & Go Karts, Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway, Apple River, horseback trails, Barron Blue Hills, Wilke Glen & Cascade Falls.

Part of Turtle Lake is also in Barron County, which is home to hundreds of miles of ATV trails, including the Cattail Trail and a 30 acre Intensive Use Area (ATV Playground), snowmobile trails, hiking and cross-country trails.
