We had a great week, the house is right on the lake, we could swim off the dock and were able to get our kayaks in the water several times. The home is plenty big and everything worked great. Kelsey was awesome, responsive and professional. Only a couple of miles from downtown Balsam Lake and 20 minutes from downtown Amery, which was very nice.We will look to stay here again in the future.

Thank you so much, Paul! Glad you had a wonderful stay ☺️
Cozy cabin on a nice lake. The patio above boathouse is a great way to spend a quiet evening with a fire table and beautiful lake view. Bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious.

Appreciate the review, Indrajeet! Glad you enjoyed your Fall stay!
We had a wonderful stay! Kelsey did a fantastic job communicating everything. The cabin was just as described, plus many west facing windows overlooking the lake for gorgeous sunsets over the fall colors. Easy drive from Minneapolis. We hope to return in the summer to enjoy the water.
Really great view, beautiful dock and outdoor area with fireplace. Very happy there was air conditioning on a hot weekend! Interior has older furniture, bedding but overall met our needs.

Hi Jessica! Glad you enjoyed your stay, we are slowly updating the cabin but the pictures on VRBO accurately represent what’s inside currently. Although, I have taken note and we’d be more than happy to host you next year!
The Sunset cabin worked perfect for our group. The kitchen is very well stocked. The view of the lake is very restful both from inside and from outside. The dock and water provided lots of fun for the kids, and the fishing was very good. The response to any question was immediate and we felt well cared for.
This location is amazing! Balsam Lake is perfect for boating, tubing, jet skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing. We caught lots of fish right off of the dock. Brought a boat and a watercraft and they both easily fit on the dock. In the evening, the fire pit was great for a sunset bonfire and s’mores and in the am the deck above the boathouse was perfect for watching the loons. Wow! We are hoping to get back there next year!! The cabin was very clean and cozy!

Thanks Tami! We’d love to host you again next year😊
We went as a family and everyone had a great time! Fishing on the boat and off the dock gave us lots of great stories! The campfire was nice to roast hot dogs and smores! The boat deck is wonderful for watching sunsets and drinking coffee in the morning! The neighbor was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Sauna looks inviting but never made time to use it. The street is a dead end in both directions which made it safe for walks with the kids. I wish we would of brought scooters or bikes, roads are nicely paved. The location of the cabin on the lake was nice for our family kayakers, not too much boat traffic. Definately going back next year!

Clean, comfy and spacious!
This property was a great fit for us. Interesting floor plan that gave 7 people all the space needed inside and out. Beautiful view of the lake! New dock accommodated the two boats that we brought. We made full use of the spacious deck and fireplace. Beds were comfy. We were there for a full week, so it was really a nice touch to have a washer and dryer available to us. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need. We felt very fortunate to have had 6 days of beautiful weather and the fishing was super. Everybody went home with a full two-day limit of fish. We will be back!

Property has great potential. When we got there, we found that the air conditioner did not work. When you are charged 300 to 400 dollar cleaning fee you would expect it to be clean. We spent the first hour cleaning up bugs and dog hair in a 83 degree house. We did contact the owner but none of our concerns were resolved. This could be a great rental if the owner took a little more pride in the property and invested in it onstead of just collecting the money. Also found that 3 of the 5 smoke/carbon monoxide detectors didn't work.

Richard, we were in contact with you throughout your entire stay and the cabin was cleaned professionally. Our furnace unfortunately went out during your stay which was out of our control and totally unexpected. We had a repair man there as soon as one was available. All smoke detectors are working. If you re read the contract it is up to the renter to make sure they are working and to replace the batteries if any aren’t working (batteries are provided as well.) We take IMENSE pride in our property…especially on behalf of my late father. Hence, that’s why we have the great reviews that we do. Sorry your stay was affected by something out of our control. We have followed up with our cleaner as I stated to you separately and will do everything we can to continue to make amazing, memorable experiences for all guests.
Beautiful property and landscaping. Well equipped outdoors--3 seating areas outside-- 2 decks & fireside; wonderdul gas grill; excellent dock and steps to the dock & graduated hill-- easy access. Clear water--Balsam is the lake to be! Love this East end as it's not as busy with boat traffic. Nextdoor neighbors on both sides friendly and generous. Dog- Friendly; make sure yours is if you have one; they all run free super sweet!Kitchen was very clean and really well-stocked. The whole place was comfortable and clean; (although it could've used a deeper clean, under beds and cushions, especially if you're bringing toddlers or dogs.) Also, mind the basement door; it opens to the steps. The only thing(s) we would change is the mattresses. Memory foam mattress toppers can be an excellent, quick fix. The bedroom with a full/queen (not master bdrm) was the most comfortable of them all. There are a couple windows in need of window coverings. Nothing too terrible, but bring eye covers if you don't want to wake up with the sun in the master bdrm.
Great views of lake and sunset, clean, well stocked, good layout of cabin
The cabin was a great layout for my family. My family consisted of 3 couples, my mother and my daughter. The activity room that has the futon works as a separate room as it has french doors that close off but still has access to the bathroom that is a "jack/jill style" that can be accessed from one of the bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking pots, cutlery, plates, toaster, and various other items. Michele called me to let me know that per WI rental rules we needed to bring all items that were to be ingested including sugar, cooking oils, salt/pepper etc. This was great info prior to arrival so we could pack accordingly as we prepared all meals there. The grill they provided was really nice as well. There were extra linens for the futon. All the bedding looked new and there were plenty of towels.
Two small things that could be improved and are easily solvable are: 1) Faster response time on communication
2) Making a binder that includes essential information on cabin, check-out requirements (stripping sheets etc), and helpful insider tips in the area (Jonzy's if you forget bare essentials)
Today with cellphones, I'm used to responses to be within a minimum of 48 hours from my experience of other owners. Currently Michele's daughter's number is on the listing and so it was slow to get responses. I would advise the decision maker to be the listed. Once I got Michele's direct line it was very quick responses.
Having the binder just enables renters to be able to know in advance of check-out what is required. I texted Michele and it was bare minimum of what needed to be done which was nice but just easier to have in book.
Overall a very pleasurable experience and the two call-outs can be very easily improved.

Thank you Tram, you were great guests.
I appreciate your feedback. I am working on the binder & it will be in place for the next guests. Also, I'm taking over the communications with guests exclusively as my daughter is busy with school & work.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay!
Respectfully,
Michele
All was well prepared for renters. Well maintained and very clean. For chef-wannabe's groovy kitchen set-up. Great eat-out nearby. Really a professionally prepped and offered rental.
We wanted a cabin to make more family memories with our kids and grandkids and the cabin had all we needed to do just that! The views from the new boat deck and house deck are beautiful. The steps off of the dock for the grand kids to swim worked just great. Lots of room to gather together or the kids to have their own space and TV! This cabin sure meet our needs! Comfy with beautiful views!
This lake home exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of areas for separation both inside and out. We started our mornings on the boathouse deck and ended the afternoons playing games on the house deck. Several evenings we had a fire in the fire pit with wood that was cut and split for our use.
We stayed here twice this summer for a long weekend with our kids ages 12-20. Property was nice and clean. No issues so no need to contact property manager/owner. Great spot on Balsam Lake and Boat house porch was perfect to watch sunset and drink coffee in the morning overlooking the lake!
