**Due to HOA restrictions for short-term rentals in the complex, and in accordance with the city of Dana Point, I am only allowed one renter per 30 days. Some seasonal pricing may show a lower minimum stay, but that is just due to pricing table limitations. Guests can stay fewer than 30 days, but I must block out the full 30 day period per customer. That means if it's off-season, I can quote you for only the dates you are actually at the unit but still issue a 30-day contract. Nightly prices would also be ~15% higher for shorter stays. Treat yourself to this amazing upper level, 3 bedroom, 2 bath 'Craftsman Style' beach condo on the beautiful California Riviera. This ocean and pool view unit is located on the bluffs of the Dana Point headlands. It sleeps 6 comfortably and has been uniquely upgraded to accommodate the California lifestyle.

Share the beach with the famous Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel and enjoy the great amenities. The local beach directly below the condo is bordered by the Dana Point Headlands to the South and the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel (one of the ten best hotels in the world) to the North. The Ritz side of the beach boasts the popular 'Gravels' surfing site at 'Salt Creek', Monarch Links Golf Course and beautiful Salt Creek Park, which has trails, great views, public BBQs, restroom facilities and a snack bar. Numerous benches and overlooks provide views of gray whale migration routes, Catalina Island and the coastline.

Although it’s just steps to beautiful beaches and resorts, this coastal Accommodation is also conveniently close to all the major attractions, restaurants, and activities Southern California has to offer. The renown artist's community of Laguna Beach, with its many art galleries and annual summer Laguna Arts Festival is just 6 miles north (15 minutes); Dana Point Harbor, less than a mile south, offers deep sea fishing, whale watching, a museum and historical ships. It is also host to many shops, restaurants and the ferry to Catalina Island. All types of restaurants, from fine dining international cuisines to casual eateries, line the coast from Newport Beach (to the north) to San Clemente (just south). Nearby attractions (45 minutes or less) include Disneyland, Legoland, Knott's Berry Farm. An hour away in either direction is Los Angeles, Universal Studios (north), and Sea World San Diego and Baja Mexico (south).

This wonderful home made a great setting for a sisters getaway. The owners clearly put in extra thought to make sure all the details are taken care with our comfort in mind. This property is beautifully decorated, well appointed, and perfectly located across the street from the beach. We were in town to celebrate a wedding. At the last minute we needed an additional condo for family and guests. The owner was not only willing to rent at the last minute, but rent for a partial week. We couldn't have gotten luckier! What a great surprise this condo was. It had everything we needed and more. Luxury accommodations with a gracious owner. We'll definitely be back!

Wonderful Beach Condo in Dans Point!

We had a wonderful vacation in Dana Point thanks to the owner, Gus and his beautiful beach condo in Dana Point! The weather was a little chilly for us coming from Arizona but that didn't stop us from having a great time. The time, thought and love put into this condo unit makes it feel like a home away from home and not just another vacation rental. Gus was easy to work with and was a plethora of information about the area, where to eat and things to do. The kids loved the surfer-themed bunk bed room as well as the colored lights in the whirlpool tub! The pool was a hit, too. The ocean view from the front patio was awesome and the walk along the park across the street was lovely. We hope to return soon!

Fantastic Condo and location

I discovered this condo early in my search to find the perfect location for my family to enjoy our California vacation. I searched long and hard but kept coming back to this listing and sure am glad I did. The owner is first class and will take care of all of your vacation needs. You really need to bring nothing but a suitcase full of clothes because everything else is provided. Towels, linens, beach toys, cooking supplies (even spices), firewood and so many other amenities. Everything is close to this condo from the SNA airport, Disneyland, restaurants, grocery, ocean institute, Capistrano Mission, lots of beaches etc.... It is an easy drive or bus ride to anything you could possibly need or would want to visit. My 5 year old spent almost everyday at the kid friendly pool which is located just outside the front door of this unit. The neighborhood is very quiet and very upscale with multi-million dollar homes surrounding the property. It is an extremely safe area to visit. There is so much to see and do within 5 to 10 miles of this unit that I could not think of a better spot to vacation. Highly recommended and I hope to return soon.

BEST Vacation Rental EVER!!

This was our first all family Trip to California. While we were in California 10 days we only got to spend 4 days in Dana Point. We all hated to leave Villa Tortuga! The condo was absolutely beautiful and it was in the perfect location. We couldn't believe all of the ammenities- top notch, and Gus has thought of everything! (I really mean EVERYTHING! I expected things like beach towels and some equipment; but first aid kit, binoculars, pantry items? WOW!) We had breakfast on the airy deck and dinner in the spacious dining area. WiFi worked well and there were plenty of DVDs as well as books and magazines. Gus has all the information you need printed up and well organized. The beach is wonderful and just a short walk (or taxi ride) to the Ritz Carlton, where we attended a wedding. The location is also very close to the harbor and the Ocean Institute. We got to see some of the tall ships while we attended a reception there. Maybe I shouldn't say so many good things about this condo-- it might not be available next time we want to stay in Dana Point. Exceptional place, Gus. You really have a winner in Villa Tortuga.

Great condo & location - highly recommend!

This was our first time using vrbo and we were so happy with the result. You can trust this listing - all is as described and pictured. The condo is so well decorated and Dana Point is a lovely, peaceful area. We easily went sightseeing in San Diego, Laguna, Disney/Anaheim, LA and Santa Monica from this location and it was wonderful at the end of the day to return to what felt like "home" at Villa Tortuga. It is so comfortable and has everything you need. The beach here is beautiful and feels like a private beach because it is not crowded at all. Gus was very helpful and provided all the information we needed. We (husband, two teenage boys and I) loved our stay! Thanks, Gus!

Perfectly rennovated condo with all the comforts of home

Gus has done an amazing job rennovating this space with the majority stemming in the master bedroom, kitchen and living areas. Each room of the house was tastefully done, modernized with all the comforts of home. We made the mistake of over packing kitchen items, because Gus had spared no expense at ensuring all condiments and other paper items were fully stocked. We took full advantage of the close proximity to the beach, and learned that there was another route besides the steps. We travelled with 3 small children and the seperate room in addition to the bunk beds worked out fantastically. We were all very comfortable and felt great about the use of space. The luxury of having the full kitchen allowed us to cook breakfasts and lunches in the condo and explored the surrounding areas and did dinners out. The towels, beach toys, umbrellas and other conveniences were all included and thought of by Gus. This was a great stay and would recommend this property to anyone looking to get away and have the luxury of California beach living.

Family Reunion!

WOW! That sums it up. We've rented many places over the years, and I have to say Gus's is one of the very best. It's not just super clean and beautifully decorated, but its the little touches we so appreciated! Great beach toys, beach towels, well stocked kitchen, jetted master tub, great dvd collection, views of both the pool and the ocean, (the list goes on) and even Ice cream in the freezer to welcome us. We were there with 4 other families, and none of their units even came close to being as beautifull. I couldn't imagine anyone not loving the place. We're already trying to arrange our stay for next summer!

Outstanding!

Hands down the best condo rental we have ever stayed in. Owner has gone to exquisite lengths to make the unit beautifully appointed. Child friendly. High-end kitchen. We had concerns about how busy the road out front would be - turns out this is a quiet dead end cul-de sac. Our visit was truly majestic. Only downside - we couldn't stay longer.

Can I move in?

There isn't one thing I could say we were disappointed in during our visit for a high school graduation. I have been on both sides of VRBO, and I have to say, this was the best experience I've had either way. The owner was extremely easy to work with, considerate and communicated with me often, but not overly so. Not to mention, easy on the eyes. :) The place, amazing! Immaculate. Beautiful. MN Folks Delight!

In addition to Gus being absolutely super to work with, we found the condo to be absolutely beautiful!! The listing description is truly accurate. Yet, the photos don't fully capture the beauty of the unit or the view of the ocean that is nearby. In addition to being beautiful, the unit was extremely clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this rental property to anyone. The unit is ideal for 4-5 adults and 2 children. The area is perfect and having the ability to walk to the beach from the ocean made it even that much better (if that is possible)!! We loved it and hope to return at some time in the near future.

We didn't want to leave!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Villa Tortuga in March 2011. Gus has thought of everything from shampoo and beach towels to candles and bath robes. We were very comfortable in the meticulously maintained and well decorated condo. The grounds are lush, the hot tub is warm, and the views are breathtaking. We would have liked to stay another week! Great Property

My family and I rented this unit for the Christmas Holiday and had a wonderful experience. The owner was terrific to work with and very accomodating. The unit was festively decorated for the holiday, which was thoughtful and inviting. This is a fabulous condo, completely updated with the highest quality amenities. It looks just as good as the photos! Our two teenage boys also were thirilled with the location of the condo. The pool is steps away and heated. And the beach access is just across the street. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this unit to families or couples looking for a getaway in the Monarch Beach area.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Tortuga! Everything we needed and more was provided - from beach toys to shampoo to condiments. The condo was immaculate and beautiful. The location was perfect. Our family enjoyed a week at Villa Tortuga in April. There was plenty of room for the four of us and it was a good base for touring the local area from. The view of the ocean was amazing and Dana Point is definiely a place we wish to visit again one day.

We stayed in Villa Tortug...

We stayed in Villa Tortuga for two weeks in July/Aug 2008. It is a wonderful place. We are already working out how we get back. Gus provides everything that you could possibly need for an up-market, beach front holiday in a spotless and chic apartment. We loved the 2 terraces, particularly the one overlooking the pool - perfect for an early evening glass of wine while the kids stayed in the pool! as to the master bedroom, if I could I would quite happily transport it back here to Dublin- simply lovely. Great touches- a fanstastic sound system, loads of DVD's for kids and adults, all the beach furniture you could need (or transport)...I could go on........

This is certainly a luxur...

This is certainly a luxurious condo with excellent facilities. With the swimming pool next to the condo and the beach across the road driving can also be kept to a minimum if desired. I would definitely recommend this accomodation, you will not be disappointed.

We stayed at Villa Tortuga at the end of May 2008. We had a wonderful time and really appreciated all of the amenities. My favorite beach in the area is located within walking distance of the condo. The condo itself had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and cookware, the rooms were beautifully decorated (my daughter loved the kids' room), and the master was beautiful with a large bathroom w/multi-head shower (great for cleaning the kids after the beach). We would love to come back next summer!

Why they chose this property

I bought my place as a primary residence and soon realized what a gem of a location it was. Career opportunities moved me to San Diego, but I could never part with this property. It's nice to be able to visit whenever it's not being rented, and also nice to be able to let others enjoy this incredible area.

What makes this property unique

The idea behind the upgrade to this property was to make the interior as special as the spectacular outdoor surroundings. I did not want the vacation to end for my guests when they came indoors. If all you need is a roof over your head, this place might not be for you. But if you want all aspects of your trip to be special, then you'll appreciate the mind set that went into Villa Tortuga.
