About this property

The Enchanted — A Quiet Riverside Retreat in the Heart of the Ouachita

The Enchanted — A Quiet Riverside Retreat in the Heart of the Ouachita
Tucked into our private four-cabin haven, The Enchanted sits just across the road from the National Forest with the Ouachita River a short walk away.

The Space
The Enchanted earns its name. Step outside and you're immediately surrounded by forest — the National Forest trailhead is literally across the road, and 1,000 feet of private river access is just a short walk away. It's the kind of setting where the outside pulls you out of bed in the morning.
The main floor offers a full kitchen, open living and dining area, and a spacious covered deck with seasonal river views — the right place to linger over coffee or wind down with a drink at the end of the day. Upstairs, a private bedroom with two queen beds and a full bath gives the whole group a comfortable, restful retreat.

On the Water & In the Woods
Walk down to our shared dock for swimming, fishing, and volleyball along 1,000 feet of Ouachita riverfront. Canoe and kayak rentals and guided river trips are available seasonally with an advance reservation.
Right across the road, short trails wind into the National Forest — an easy walk into genuine wilderness, no drive required.

Evenings at The Enchanted
Fire up the grill as the sun drops behind the tree line, then settle in under one of the darkest skies in Arkansas. The Milky Way is visible on clear nights, fireflies drift through the trees in season, and the quiet here is the kind you feel in your shoulders.

About the host

Hosted by Amanda Sullivan

Host profile image
Hi! Our names are Casey and Amanda Sullivan.
We were married in August 2020, and closed on this beautiful property in October 2020.
It was a whirlwind year to say the least!

We moved from Denver, Colorado to enjoy all that Arkansas has to offer (so many outdoor activities are in this area).

We have 3 children, 3 dogs, 1 cat, 1 highland cow, 1 kune kune pig, and 12 chickens!

Why they chose this property

We love this property because it is so secluded and peaceful. Surrounded on 3 sides by National Forest and the Ouachita River on the other really sets it apart from anywhere else.
Our children (and ourselves) get to discover new and exciting plants and creatures we have never seen all the time, and go on fun river trips together.

What makes this property unique

The peaceful riverfront is a dream. The only place around you can just walk right down to the water, sunbathe on the peninsula, fish, and enjoy both river and national forest right from your cabin.
