About this property
Modern Timber Frame Home on an Arnold Palmer golf course at Cullasaja Club
This spectacular 3 bedroom / 4 full bath timber frame home was built in 2008. It is located within the gated Cullasaja Club grounds (the premier club on the Highlands plateau in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains) ... a 7 minute drive from historic Highlands, NC - 15 munites from Cashiers. The house is situated across from the number 10 tee box on Cullasaja's breathtaking Arnold Palmer golf course (regarded to be his favorite mountain course, and Arnie owned a home here).
For those unfamiliar with the area, the quaint town of Highlands is a cultured little community, boasting an impressive list of gourmet dining alternatives, boutique shops, and gilded churches. At 4100 feet elevation, summer temperatures rarely reach 80 deg, the fall colors are spectacular, and ski slopes are not far away in winter. There are 20+ golf courses within a 30 min radius, and all manner of outdoor activities in the area to choose from (e.g. hiking, fishing, boating, canoeing, river rafting, zip-lining etc.). We are 1-1/2 hours from Ashville, NC / 1-1/2 hours from Greenville, SC / 2-1/2 hours from Atlanta, GA.
Minimum rental is two weeks (as dictated by the Club). Preview memberships with all the privileges can be negotiated separately with the Membership Director ... or, as prearranged with the owner, guests may enjoy Club privileges on the owners account (to be reconciled at the end of the lease).
This is our home away from home. We consequently are a bit discerning about who we rent to and would wish to know something about prospective renters before committing. We are pet friendly to a point, though discourage cats and would wish that dogs not get on the furniture and are crated in the owner's absense. Accordingly, we will want to negotiate a pet deposit in advance.
As we are generally in residence late June through early October, we don't rent a lot ... but we often have availability in the late Spring, and early Fall (and the Fall colors are spectacular). The golf course & exercise facilities are generally open year round, though Club dining is only available May through October. Incidentally ... of the eight couples we have leased to, five have gone on to join the club and buy property in here. It's a special place! within a spectacular mountain community.

About the host
Hosted by Chip Keener

Lynne & I are generally resident here from the first of July through early October. It is our summer retreat from the Texas heat (Lake Conroe an hour north of Houston). We absolutely love it here. If not for three kids, spouses and seven grandkids in Texas we would be here full time.
