Savor a cup of coffee or sip a delicious Finger Lakes wine on our large 50’ x 12’ covered porch overlooking Cayuga Lake. Dining and seating areas, as well as a propane BBQ and fire pit. This is a great site for families to gather and still have plenty of private space. 1000 sq. feet of interior space, plus a huge porch directly overlooking the lake.
Lodge includes 4 bedrooms (2 bedrooms with king beds, 1 queen, and 1 with a set of bunk beds and a twin) and a pullout couch/futon. 2 full-sized bathrooms with walk-in shower. Sleeps 11.
Large, open plan living area includes a full kitchen and dining area, and flat screen TV.
Rental includes a boat slip with electric hoist. 2 reserved parking space. (More available by request and availability.) Only about 30 feet from staircase leading directly to our private beach that only our renters at The Spotted Sandpiper can use!
Need more space? The Spotted Sandpiper has 2 houses, 9 cabins, and 2 yurts spread over 4 acres. We're a great gathering spot for family reunions, wedding parties, and groups who just want to stretch out. Ask us about our multiple rental discounts!
The Spotted Sandpiper is located in the woods with frontage on Cayuga Lake and bugs love the woods and water! They're savvy at finding their ways indoors (these are cabins after all). If the bugs are ever "bugging" you, we're always happy to help. Please also note that because we're surrounded by mature trees we love and maintain in the fall they may produce nuts which periodically fall (acorns particularly). We reduce our nightly rates in this season accordingly.

We had a wonderful stay in this large, comfortable, rustic cottage. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. Our favorite spot was on the porch overlooking the lake --- and the kayaks and paddle boards were great fun. Thank you!
This is first time using VRBO. From start to finish a good experience. Facility was terrific for 10 ladies. Have already recommended to others who were interested in how it went. Plan to be happy repeat customer next year.
Our family had an absolutely incredible stay on the property! Amazing lake views, very peaceful and spacious. We grilled right on the porch and had a campfire after awesome days swimming and boating. All of our kids had to be pulled out of the water and slept well after hours playing on the complementary kayaks and paddle boards and swim mats. After they conked out, the adults hung out on the long porch listening to the waves on the beach below and drinking wine from our Cayuga Wine trail adventures.
The hosts were fantastic and gave us great recommendations! Wonderful communication before our arrival and during our stay. We recommend Flying Pig near by along Route 89 for delicious baked goods and there are tons of restaurant choices in nearby Trumansburg. There is so much to do in the area, and we've only scratched the surface! We'll definitely be back soon!!
Sorry, but the negative items rate top billing.
The property was rustic, but our first sight of it was of the filthy garbage dump that was overrunning with garbage our entire trip. Not surprisingly, we were visited by at least one mouse on four or five occasions in the kitchen area. There were multiple holes in the floor and gaps in the paneling, through which vermin could have easily gained access.
We were promised two bathrooms, but when we arrived and inquired, we were told that the second bathroom "hadn't been finished yet". In addition, the porch was draped with cobwebs.
There was a sunken fireplace in the living room that was a terrible tripping hazard, over which i tripped, fell and painfully dinged a toe. It was a wonder i was not seriously injured.
On the positive side, the newly added bedrooms were reasonably comfortable and had wonderful views. That's about it for the positive.
We feel we should be credited at lest $50.00 per day.

Rustic, nice to be by the water
Reviewing this site is somewhat difficult. Although the lodging it's self was satisfactory, the host and maintenance crew was very helpful and responsive with our concerns.
We loved being right by the water and being able to paddle board/ kayak was wonderful.
The 3 main bedrooms were comfortable. The bunk bed room with twin and trundle was perfect for kids but the bunk would never fit an adult comfortably ( Just and FYI)
The area is lovely. Being close to the falls and Ithaca was great.
Only thing that would have made our stay even better was instructions on how to use the TV equipment to get local channels. We had a rainy Sunday and would have been great to get the football games on TV
Rustic in appearance but totally modern in every other way
It was very relaxing, far away from the madding crowd, but close enough to Trumansburg and Ithaca to give easy access to the pleasures of civilization

Great Relaxing Spot
Right on the water. Loved sitting on the porch and watching the lake, sipping wine, eating. We used the BBQ every night. Lived going to the dock every morning for sunrise. Very nice place.
We loved this cabin in the Finger Lakes. The location was perfect within close proximity to amazing hikes. We loved the lake access, the kayak availability, the fire pit. Jordan even built a fire for us. We also really appreciated the ample supplies. It made the week stress free. Highly recommend!!!
