Sparkling Bear Chalet is tucked away enough to be home-y, private and safe for kids to play outside with the snow or bikes, but close enough to town to be extremely convenient.
This chummy log chalet has an lightly and airy open concept living room/kitchen area with extensive social and communal space to build your mountain family memories, the first and second floor are connected through an extensive game room space that provides entertainment for every age and taste.
We have just bought this log cabin style in October 2019 and we’ve updated with new smart TVs in every room, new small appliances, linens, towels, blankets, duvets, new game room with board games. Everything you need for a perfect stay-cation weekend or longer actual vacation!
From the outside is the log cabin we all dream of owning. Inside it s more like the house we like of living in.
Cuddle up next to the fire and watch movies with Netflix, or stay in the bed and enjoy your favorite channels in the master bedroom with the wall mounted flat screen TVs. Wake up to your freshly brewed coffee or tasty espresso and sit on the deck or cozy back patio listening to the birds chirping.
Stay home and cook in the fully equipped kitchen or If you are looking for food or activities you don t have to go far since "The Village" is less than a mile away and packed with restaurants and shops. You are about 2.8 miles to Snow Summit and 4.6 miles to Bear Mountain for all your snow sport needs. If you are looking for water sports the public boat ramp is less than a mile away so bring your boat and enjoy. Take a trip down one of the Alpine Slides at Magic Mountain only .2 miles from the lodge or walk over to Mountain Brewery which is only a few hundred yards away.
If cooking outdoors is more your style, the private back deck has a propane barbecue as well as the hot tub!
Enjoy this chummy chalet open floor plan, where laughs and fun flows from the kitchen to living room and floating to the connected upstairs game room. Prepare some gourmet food or your next holiday feast while talking to friends playing strategic board games or enjoying an Arcade or darts tournament, or simply enjoying a cup of tea a great book in front of the burning fireplace.
Unwind in the front or private back deck after a day on the slopes, biking or on the sunny lake.
We are happy to share our fully loaded game room!!

Why they chose this property
Marco and I grew up in the European mountains, on the Italian Alps in the Lakes districts, at the border with Switzerland.
When we first visited Big Bear we immediately felt in love of the mountain views, the lake and winter sports, the year round hikes, the local rescues zoo.
We started visiting Big Bear during the different seasons, for hikes, photographing fall colors, skiing. After Luca and Sofia were born (5 and 6 year old) we decided to look for a place to be our family gateway in the mountains, so that they could experience the seasons, the life close to nature and for the all family to have a place where to relax after stressful city weeks.
We immediately felt in love with our chummy home where we are building lasting mountain memories for our family and our wonderful kids Luca and Sofia (5 and 6 years).

What makes this property unique
We immediately fell in love of the open and airy floor plan that allows for a great interaction between kitchen, living room and game room; great and spacious living space; high cathedral ceilings bringing in a lot of light;
We love the outside mountain log style, and the inside comfort of a relatively new house (built in 2005).
All of this plus a great location: the house is easily accessible year long (even with difficult weather conditions), and centrally located:
- 3 minutes walk to the brewery, restaurant and Bakery ( I love walking to the coffee shop for a fresh croissant in the morning)
- 15 minutes walk to the lake
- 20 minutes walk to the Village
- minutes drive to the slope
Remote feeling and centrally located
