Dancing Bear Lodge # 330 is slope side; walk out the door and ski / board / mountain bike, 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit that is available for rental year around. Come fall in love with our home away from home. Do you want to know if the lifts are open? Which trails the mountain bikers are riding? Look out the balcony door or living room window. Most other units listed by VRBO in this complex have views of the parking lot for the same rental price. The third floor gives you the advantage of great views and the added advantage of being away from the noise on the first & second floor. Two elevators and many luggage carts are available for your use. Mountain lodge is the perfect destination and a short walk (1-2 minutes) to the village restaurants, bars, shopping and split rock pool. Mountain Lodge has an Exercise area, an indoor playground, a huge arcade for the kids, movie rentals at the front desk and 24 hour security. Free shuttle available picks you up at the front door and will take you everywhere else on the mountain.

Please Read! HOA rules enforced.
No Pets, No smoking inside building, No bikes allowed inside building. HOA will fine me which results in an automatic loss of your security deposit.!! There are no warnings.
Signs are everywhere. Cameras are everywhere. If you bring your bike into Mountain Lodge and or our room you will lose your security deposit and be responsible for any extra cleaning that Mountain Lodge charges. If this is a problem please don't rent from me. These are HOA rules and I get no say, only the bill.

The ski runs were a 5 minute walk from room. There were also several restaurants within walking distance.The property owner was very attentive and communicated throughout the entire process from booking, check-in, and check out.A very nice stay, we will return next year.

Incredible location for skiing Snowshoe! We had 2 kids with us (6 & 2) one slept on the couch & the other in a Pack-n-Play. The Pre-Ski for our little one is located in the basement of Mountain Lodge so made for an easy morning. Marc was a very responsive host & looking forward to visiting again!

Very small for three people I would only come here with just my husband, but the location was wonder

Definitely bring blankets. The bedding is decent if you’re an army ranger which my husband is, he didn’t care but I did! I wish I brought more blankets. It’s very small for three people.

Guests, please read my other reviews. I have been renting on VRBO since 2009. Did you look in the closet? Interesting that we just purchased new appliances, new floors, new heaters, new king size bed and new deck and furniture. If you would have contacted me, you could have gone to the front desk. They would have given you as many as you wanted, But then, you never contacted me as I requested multiple times before the reservation.

We just came back from a one week stay in Marc's condo. We had an amazing time. The place is nice and cozy and had everything we needed for a family of 5. The location is amazing and the views are great. We enjoyed a proximity to Ballhooter and the village with all it has to offer. We would definitely recommend this place to others. Thank you!

We booked as a last minute getaway. The condo was well laid out, nice appliances, warm, comfortable, and great TVs and wifi. The owner was great to deal with. There are few places that are as convenient with such great parking. We will definitely be come back.

Birthday weekend

Husband and I wanted a weekend getaway that wasn’t too far from home. This condo had everything we needed. The view was great to watch the action. It will be even better when the balcony has been added. Bed was a little too firm for me and the hideaway bed was not even remotely comfortable. Otherwise all was good.

Our Queen bed is a new memory foam mattress. We are replacing it with a King memory foam mattress in the off season. I am sorry that you found it to be too firm. I am not sure how to rate the memory foam and put it into the listing. The sleeper sofa, we replaced the original mattress with a memory foam replacement. We will be thrilled with the new addition of the decks that should be completed before the next season.

Loved it!

We thoroughly enjoyed your condo for the cleanliness and the view. We have a toddler with a compromised immune system, so cleanliness is top priority for our family. In addition, the view entertained our toddler while we were taking a break! The condo's layout is efficient and perfect to allow families to relax in the floor for playtime, and enjoy a great food prep/cooking space! We look forward to staying in your condo in the future!

Perfect Location, Kitchen, and Owner Communication!

We booked this for our first ski trip to Snowshoe and we're so happy that we did! In fact, we're returning in a few weeks. This condo is located in the perfect location, central to just about everything from the lifts as well as green, blue, and slopes. It is steps from the village and the Split Rock Pool. It has a fully stocked kitchen with a large fridge. So, we were able to cook some of our meals and eat in whenever we wanted. Marc, the owner, provided answers within 24-hours whenever we had questions and gave us lots of tips to make sure our stay is a pleasant one. Thank you, Marc!!!

I wanted a place next to the main village, with a nice view, and a king bed... exactly what was claimed, and exactly what I got :-) I knew ahead of time that Mountain Lodge and the rooms aren't perfect and have some age, but the property was clean and ready on time, which is all I cared about. Bonus was the large living room smart TV that streamed directly from my iPhone. I think the only thing that wasn't there that I would have expected was coffee filters... no big deal. Instructions for check-in were clear and easy. Thanks very much!

Not a great experience

Location was great next to the slopes/ ski lift. Unit itself was not clean. Running water didn't work at Mountain Lodge and unit was not cleaned when we arrived. Sleeper couch was not clean and not in good condition , ended up using sheets to sleep on the floor. Ceilings incredibly low. Unit had a musty smell that we got used to but hit you like a brick wall everytime coming in from outside. Host was reachable and helpful. Not planning to stay at Mountain Lodge again.

What you didn't add to your review was that the water main to the building froze during the polar plunge with -40 degree temperatures. The cleaning crews couldn't clean with no water. Water lines and repairs were completed within 18 hours after checkin.

The Best

The best vacation in ages!Marc was patient and Kind.Even when I had missed the due date of my last payment, he communicated with me in a thoughtful manner, and my family thankfully didn’t miss out on a beautiful time at a beautiful place.All of the furniture was clean and comfortable.New couch and fold out bed had a comfortable mattress.The King Bed was also comfortable. Plenty of room and all we needed.We cooked the kitchen everyday and did not eat out. It was fantastic and SAVED a lot of money Thank you to Marc’s recommendation, we stopped in Lewisburg and another small town for groceries, before arriving at the resort.We did purchase, a sponge and dish soap from the tiny local market on the mountain, as it was the one thing we’d forgotten.It was absolutely FANTASTIC to be able to ski in and out and I could hang out with my daughter when she and I weren’t on the slopes, while her mom snowboarded and we got to watch her coming and going off of the lift, right there at Ballhooter.If you have kids, this is the PLACE! Great indoor play area.We are going back every year, so my 4 year old daughter can learn to be an excellent snowboarder like her Momma.The manager of the snowboard/ski school was fantastic and when my daughter struggled and didn’t get much time on her board the first day, she discounted another day for us.Management is AMAZING and the staff at all places are very helpful and glad to do their jobs. They do it well!

OMG! What a Perfect Location! Smack Dab on the slopes and walk or ski right over to the village.

Renting this unit from Marc was a wonderful decision. GREAT COMMUNICATION AND INCREDIBLY HELPFUL AND INFORMATIVE! This unit was everything he said it would be. It was clean and provided everything we needed for a week long stay. It was right on the slopes and was so close to the village, you could walk or ski right over in a minute. From the very beginning of my search for a place to stay at Snowshoe Mountain, Marc provided helpful and quick responses to my questions which helped me make my decision based on what I was looking for. I was bringing my two teenage daughters for a first-time ski trip and they loved the location. The view of the slope and lift was amazing and it was convenient to everything.....rentals, shopping, restaurants. We parked our vehicle in the early morning hours of our arrival and did not have to move it again until the day we were packing to come home. We had the most incredible weather Feb 11-17th. Beautiful SNOW showers almost every day and some of the best SKI conditions Snowshoe has had this season (I was told by several residents). Marc provides the most helpful "checklist of how to enjoy your stay" to his renters. It goes over what to bring, cell service information, a quick overview of the restaurants and what they offer, best places for rentals, how to dress, etc. LOVED HAVING THIS INFORMATION!!! The staff at Mountain Lodge were very nice and helpful as well. We ended up leaving a whole suitcase in the loading area by mistake and the staff quickly located it and helped me arrange shipping back to me. I could not have enjoyed my stay there anymore!!! Absolutely Wonderful Vacation and I will certainly contact Marc again when planning my next Snowshoe Vacation. Highly Recommend. Thanks Marc for a great vacation!!! Cindy

The location is great

The location is the best feature, and the owner is very honest about the fact that the condo is “just basics”. For my family of 5, two adults and a 11, 8, and 4 year old, it was too small. Each time someone was in the bathroom someone else was in an emergency outside the door - so no relaxing showers after skiing. The bathroom is very small anyway so it’s not about comfort just function. Overall, the condo is efficient and as pictured. I used the kitchen a lot while we were there - we only ate one meal out - and it had what I needed. The whole building itself is very outdated and dirty, but there’s a weird charm to it like it’s a forgotten movie set or something. The condo itself was clean. The elevator had layers of flooring missing and the edges were covered in debris and dust like it was never cleaned. The mattress in the bedroom was not comfortable to me. After the first night of sleep (before I skied) I had bad back pain for the duration of the trip that didn’t go away until a few days after I was home. But that’s different for everyone. I prefer a softer mattress and this one is very solid. My husband slept in the recliner and was okay with that but he couldn’t sleep on the bed. I had a nice ground pad in my car so I put that on top of the bed to sleep on it. These are personal issues - not issues with the condo really. The one great accessory in the unit was the long hallway of pegs and hooks to hang our jackets, pants, etc. We wouldn’t have had enough space to store our ski stuff otherwise. I was worried about 5 sets of luggage fitting there but we packed lightly and organized fine. We rented a locker for our ski equipment, there’s no way we would’ve been able to move through the condo with our ski equipment in there. We went at the end of February 2023, and the conditions were not great. Slushy and 60° one day and the next it was freezing which made the mountain not skiable - just a giant ice slope. It was not a great place to teach my kids to ski due to the conditions, all slopes were just a strip of mostly man made snow with grass and mud on the sides and sometimes in the middle of the slope. There’s also no real bunny slope. I wish I knew that before planning the trip. The silvercreek side shut down while we were there, thankfully we had already tubed, which my kids enjoyed. The unit is good and as described, just not for us. I overestimated our ability as a family to stay in small quarters for 4 days. Also, it was quiet as mentioned.

First, our home is advertised as a 1 bedroom, 1 bath that sleeps 4. The King size bed in the bedroom is brand-new. Since comfort is defined by the individual., maybe you should inquire about a beds firmness/ softness prior to booking. The sleeper sofa is brand-new. The line at the bathroom, well, seems like you would know your family well enough to rent a 2 bathroom next time.

Mountain Lodge is where the party gets started. It is in the village, close to everything. It has a full size kitchen with full size appliances. Most properties in the village have refrigerators that barely hold a 12 pack; not Mountain Lodge

What makes this property unique

We chose this location in Mountain Lodge because of the design, location and view. We are on the third floor and have a panoramic view of the slopes, village and mountains. You can see across the entire ski area from our home. The big advantage of being on the third floor is the lack of noise. All of the foot traffic on the first floor has traffic going back and forth to the slopes. Imagine having the master bedroom next to the walkway and then adding foot traffic with ski boots on. Get the picture? This is what our competition offers. We have the nicest one bedroom at Mountain Lodge and we think you will agree with us!
