Lazy River is a cozy & comfortable, updated & redecorated log cabin that sits right on the riverbank & overlooks the Little Pigeon River, where fishing, tubing, swimming, wading & kayaking are accessible right from the backyard. There is a safety handrail on the path that goes right to the river.
This beautiful log cabin is private from other cabins & is conveniently located to I-40 & all the activities of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg & the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and is located right off of a main flat paved road. There are NO steep-winding-white-knuckle-nail-biting mountain roads to travel to this cabin.
There are ZERO steps to walk onto the deck & enter the living room on the main-ground-level living/dining/kitchen area, master bedroom/ master bath.
The ground level is an open floor plan that has a living/dining/ kitchen area with a stone fireplace with remote-controlled logs that can be used year-round for heat or for a romantic ambiance. The living room has a 48" TV, ROKU, large DVD movie library, ceiling fan, leather sofa & 2 chairs. French doors from the living room go out onto a covered porch with a porch swing & rocking chairs that overlook the Little Pigeon River. The porch is gated for the safety of pets & kids.
The fully equipped kitchen has updated appliances that include a range, microwave, dishwasher & refrigerator. You will have plenty of cookware & dishes for stay-at-home meals. There is also a toaster, blender, slow cooker, Keurig & regular coffee maker. Granite countertops & an abundance of kitchen cabinets, a bagel toaster, blender, Keurig & regular coffee maker.
The master bedroom is on the main ground level & has a king-size bed, a large whirlpool-jetted tub, a 32” TV ROKU & ceiling fan. There is a large adjoining master bath with a walk-in shower, vanity sink, large hanging clothes closet, an armoire for folded clothes, multiple wall hooks & a hairdryer.
A spiral stairway with a safety gate in the living room leads to the lower level of the cabin. There you will find 2 private bedrooms separated by a full bath with a tub/shower combo. One bedroom is queen & the other bedroom is full. Also, a game room with a futon for extra sleeping space for kids, a full-size pool table, board games & a stackable washer & dryer. This room leads onto the lower private covered porch, which has a hot tub overlooking the river, that is available for year-round use. This porch is gated and leads to the backyard that overlooks the river & has a stone firepit when you want to just kick back & enjoy the outdoors or roast marshmallows, s'mores & hot dogs. Access to the river is from the lower-level deck or the back backyard to go fishing, wading, tubing, or kayaking. There is a hand-railed path that leads right to the river from the backyard.
Guests say that the LOWER-LEVEL bedrooms are so quiet, it is like sleeping in a cave. LOWER-LEVEL BEDROOMS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE REQUIRING TOTAL QUIET SLEEPING.
This awesome log cabin is right off a main road & has a private concrete driveway with a large parking area that will accommodate several cars & parking right at the door without any steps to enter the porch or cabin. A park-style charcoal grill is located by the front porch, making it convenient for grilling.
Both main-level & lower-level porches are covered, gated, and very private & overlook the Little Pigeon River.
Grocery stores, bars & gas stations are just 1/2 mile from Lazy River, on the same road. The location of this cabin is behind Dollywood, making travel to the main business areas of Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg easy from good main back roads & avoiding the usual heavy traffic. Traveling in the opposite direction is a quick way to access I-40.

About the host
Hosted by Geri
I have always loved the Smoky Mountain area & my best memories is when my Daddy would take the whole family to the mountains every year. I can remember dreaming about how great it would be to live in one of those wonderful mountain cabins when I grew up. This has been a dream of mine that has stayed with me throughout the years.
I live in Nashville and I bought my first cabin named Chocolate Moose in 2007 & several more over the following years. I really enjoy remodeling & decorating the cabins & making them cozy & comfortable home-away-from-home for my guests to visit & enjoy. All my cabins are all pet-friendly because I know how important it is to take 4-legged best buddies along on vacation.
I feel so lucky to have these wonderful cabins & chalets in the beautiful Smoky Mountains & they are all very special to me. I know you will like them as much as I do.

Why they chose this property
After being in the overnight cabin rental business for many years, I quickly learned that many guests are very afraid of driving on steep-winding-curvy-white-knuckle-nail-biting mountain roads going back & forth to their rental cabin, especially after dark.
So, I set out to find a cabin that would have easy access to all the fun activities, restaurants & grocery stores without having to travel any steep mountain roads. When I found this cabin located right off of a good main paved road & close to all the activities, I knew this would be one of the favorite places for my guests to stay. Being located right on the riverbank of the Little Pigeon River was really a plus.
When I saw that the cabin had ZERO STEPS to walk onto the deck & enter the cabin's main level & for a vehicle to be able to pull right up to the deck, I knew this was another important thing for so many of my past guests. Right away, I knew that this would be my next cabin.
Another important factor was when I discovered the closeness of Dollywood & all the Pigeon Forge activities & being able to travel good back roads to avoid the normal heavy area, I was really excited to have found this cabin. And, being located right on the river! What could be better than that!!
Contractors & I gave this cabin a mayor over-haul & face-lift in the summer of 2018. While working on it, my Great Pyrenees, Buddy & I really enjoyed watching all the friendly river tubers wave as they floated down the river. They all seemed to enjoy the laziness of floating on the river in the big tubes & relaxing & talking among themselves. That was when I decided the new name for the cabin had to be LAZY RIVER.
Over the years, I have had many of my guests ask where they could fish in the Smoky Mountain area. Now I can tell them that I have the perfect fishing spot, right out the back door of the Lazy River on that huge gigantic rock right on the river.

What makes this property unique
Lazy River is located right on the river bank & overlooks Little Pigeon River. There are 2 covered decks with a hot tub, table/chairs, rocking chairs & porch swing. Also. a fire-pit in the back yard overlooks the river. For safety, the path going down to the river has a hand-rail. It leads right to the river from the back yard. There you can fish, swim, wade, tube, kayak or just enjoy the peacefulness of the river. Access to the river is from the lower level deck, a path with a hand railing leads right to the river.
Lazy River has such a convenient location from I40 & then being able to go into Pigeon Forge, Sevierville & Gatlinburg on good main paved back-roads to avoid usual traffic.
There are no scary mountain roads to climb. It is off of the main road that will take you to Pigeon Forge without the usual heavy traffic. There are gas stations, grocery stores, markets, bars & other businesses all within 1/2 mile of the cabin on this main road, making it very handy not to have to get into the traffic unless you want to.
This cabin has been completely remodeled & decorated inside & out. I think my guests will really enjoy spending time at Lazy River as much as Buddy & I love it there
