Wonderful stay, host was exceptionally accommodating. Close walk to the beach, the pool was well maintained and the house has a great throwback beach feel with 20th century attic decor. Just a fun house where you can grab a book, sit on the porch and enjoy all Sanibel has to offer.
Anne was the perfect host. a minor problem with a toilet when we arrived and anne had the island plumbers there quickly. ZERO issues for the next month. will be staying here again next year.House is conveniently located on the " quieter" end of the island. easy walking to the beach , lighthouse, grandma dots and wikies restaurant and shopping. Pool and yard was well maintained weekly by friendly helpers. Neighbors were welcoming and we loved the vibe. 5 Star all the way.
Very comfortable, clean, well kept house with nice pool. Located in “quiet” end of Sanibel, convenient to beach. Ann (host) was very responsive. We give it an A+.

Dear Katrin,
WE do not list our home with a working elevator. Kitchen has new frig and dishwasher. New roof and siding, paining inside and out. Saying it needs an update to the latest styles is a personal preference and misleading. The tenet left our property unsecured when she left and gave access to another party without our knowledge during an absense. I dont think you have had much experience renting as all owners put the security of their home as a priority. Having been through it myself, getting your home back in order after the hurricaine is anything BUT a vacaction.
Great location on the island. Recommended beach was within walking distance & great.
The only challenge was getting the contract signed & returned. I sent it twice on-line & mailed it twice. The last time was registered mail, because was told owner hadn’t received it and thought we were no longer interested. When I contacted HA directly, they were very helpful. I never did received owner’s signed contract back as promised.

I know you were unable to download the rental agreement and electronically return it so you sent it to our rental property address. When I learned you sent it there I asked you to send it our mailing address. It came by FedEx, not registered mail. Its difficult determining the reliability of a possible renter and a signed rental agreement gives one some level of comfort. Its unfortunate that the process was cumbersome but happy we worked it out. Most importantly, I am glad you and your family enjoyed your stay and were able to celebrate a birthday and New Years in our home.

The house was fine. Some appliances were dated. This was verified by the fact that our refrigerator broke down. It was repaired 30 hours later, with loss of some perishables, despite constantly keeping them on ice. The owners stated that they would compensate us by refunding the fee for 2 days stay. A decades old microwave is installed in the kitchen that should be removed.
We were disappointed with communications with the owners. When checking out, we informed the owners that a ¼ cup of coffee had been spilled on a shag carpet. We cleaned the spot immediately, we thought satisfactorily. The owners did not agree. They insisted that the entire carpet needed to be replaced. Despite multiple requests, they would not send a picture of the carpet. They then reneged on the compensation for the inconvenience of no refrigerator. In addition, the pet security deposit was finally returned after 5 months.
An item was left by one of our children. We knew where it was left and requested that it be returned--- no response from the owners.

The house was beautiful, comfortable, and in an ideal location on Sanibel Island. We were an easy walk to the beach, several excellent restaurants, and shops. The neighborhood was very quiet and we were surrounded by other beautiful homes.Overall we had a wonderful stay at this gracious Sanibel home.
Decided to go somewhere warm this winter. Living in Michigan we hate the winters more each year. My husband decided to retire in January so it was a celebration trip too. We had some relatives join us for a week too. Great location, it was a wonderful trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Sanibel. Anne, our host, was very helpful and responded to any concerns that we might have had. The beach was within walking distance of the house. We used the back porch for almost all of our meals and an evening cocktail. Due to the fact that I have mobility issues, the elevator proved to be extremely beneficial.

Beautiful house, clean pool - safe!, short stroll to a beautiful beach -- heaven!
One of the best places we've stayed (used VRBO many times). Owners relaxed, easy communication. Everything is as seen in the photos. If you didn't feel like the beach, the pool is cool, clean and refreshing. Just the best trip we have had in years. Great restaurants with fresh food, nothing like chains. People amazingly friendly. Lots to do or just relax - your option.
We had an excellent experience staying at Anne’s house. She was very responsive to any questions and the house had everything we needed, including beach gear. The location is great - you can walk to the beach as well as the ice cream shop and the Lighthouse cafe/Grandma Dot’s. The whole island is a treasure and we had a great time with our two little ones.

Our family has been coming to Sanibel for 2 life-times. It is a wonderful place to enjoy the winter away from the crowds and concerns of daily life.
Why they chose this property
We love walking on the beach in morning with a cup of coffee or shelling at low tide. Our home is close to the Lighthouse so you dont have to worry about the traffic when you have to venture out for something. One of our favorite things to do is walk to the marina and catch a bite at Grandma dots. You can schedule a boat trip or rent your own just a couple blocks away. Lounge on the covered porch and watch the local osprey feed their young. The porch is a perfect place to spend the day doing nothing at all. The kids can ride their bikes without risk of traffic and easily access bike path. Curbside delivery from the local restaurants.
What makes this property unique
This home has a working elevator which is really handy for older folks. Most homes have long staircases due to the building designs on the island. The pool is larger than the average home pool built in the Island. Not near any other waterways so insect and alligator exposure minimum. Lighthouse end of Island provides easy off Island trips/evacuation. Long term rental so exposure to Covid is as limited as you care for it to be. Cleaning service is available for additional charge
