About this property
Oceanfront home steps from private beach & only a quick drive to Anacortes!
Whether you're looking for a quiet family vacation by the beach or a relaxing retreat with friends, this waterfront home has its own private beach, as well as everything else you could want! Cozy comforts within the home and convenient access to the beach make this a vacation opportunity too good to miss.
Our home has tranquil healing energy which draws you in and makes you want to stay.
Once inside, enjoy a cozy atmosphere and a rich history. Passed down in the family for generations, this retreat has small touches - like the fun chandeliers - repurposed fence boards turned into bookshelves that will make you feel right at home and part of the extended family.
This home is only a short drive from several nearby attractions and is the perfect gateway to the San Juan Islands. Fields of tulips in nearby Mt Vernon are home to the annual Skagit Tulip Festival, while shoppers can delight in the Burlington Outlets just 20 minutes away. Want to explore Whidbey or the San Juan Islands? This home is a great home base for day trips, but the real advantage of this home is its beachfront location!
Explore the sandy shoreline when the tide is out, or simply relax on the deck and enjoy the view or watch the Eagles landing on their perches. You're never far from activities like clamming, crabbing (when in season), hiking, shopping, and even gambling (there are several casinos nearby). This great location is also close enough to the village of Anacortes that grocery shopping and dining out are easy to do.
Anacortes host a Saturday Farmers Market, which runs from May~ to October. There are also additional markets in the off season~

About the host
Hosted by Donna Jones
Bob and I were both born and raised in Renton, Washington. We currently live in Renton. We have two boutiques, one in Renton and one in Gig Harbor. Our home has been in Bob's family since the '50s. He has the best memories of coming up with his grandparents. Anacortes is our second home. Every time we visit we want to stay!
Why they chose this property
Bob's grandparents had several properties to choose from in 1949, but this was their favorite. They loved the idea of building a cabin upon the rock. They envisioned the magnificent views, and when the tide was in, having their own private beach made this property the winner! In 2014 the home was put on the market. Bob and I just could not let it go. We were fortunate to purchase it, keeping it in the family. It is a favorite place to visit for our children, grandchildren, and friends. While we have done some updates, we have tried to keep it cozy and comfortable. We want it to feel like you are at home. The small fireplace was added along with the bookshelves and vintage books with short stories to make even a stormy day feel comfortable. We could not be more excited to share the beautiful experience of spending time in our home.
What makes this property unique
Although the San Juan's are considered a banana belt, it is not as popular to visit in the winter. Honestly, we have had the most beautiful days on the deck year-round. We rarely see a day without sunshine. The sunsets are magnificent! Because Alexander beach is a private beach, you may find you are one of the only people on the beach. The eagles love to perch on a tree just off the side of our deck. They are used to visitors making photo opportunities or just spending time watching them possible.
