The home has been completely updated with new paint, polished hardwood floors ,carpet, new beds/linens etc. A brand newly installed gas fireplace makes this a perfect Fall retreat! The large smart TV is brand new. All mattresses were especially crafted to be non toxic, hypo-allergenic, and odorless. The downstairs bedroom has extra long twins that can also be turned into a king-size bed. The downstairs bathroom has a tub/shower. The upstairs bedroom has a king- size bed. The upstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower. The home is furnished with family antiques and art for a warm homey feel. The kitchen is stocked with matching dishes/glassware so the chef will find the appropriate cookware to concoct his/her culinary creation. Set yourself a fine dining table with linens and cloth napkins Come relax on the porch (in summer) and watch the horse and ducks play, and listen to the soothing waterfall across the street. You can view them from two picture windows and sit by the fire with a hot drink in the Fall! Enjoy waving to the neighbors as they walk their dogs or jog by. The tiny sun porch in the back faces east so it's an early risers best place for that hot cup of coffee and the news. The back yard is a perfect place to relax and either get warm in the sun or cool down under the huge maple tree. Enjoy wonderful meals on the picnic table under the lights strung up in the trees. The smells of freshly cut grass or blossoming flowers will delight you.

About the host
Hosted by Annie Newland

I was born in Traverse City, moved away, but always came back to Omena, Michigan to my grandparents cottage. I fell in love with the area and moved to Leelanau County in 1984. I have enjoyed living in Omena, Northport, Cedar and now Suttons Bay. I am a maritime captain by passion however an injury has taken me off the sea. I now live in Sarasota, Florida where I manage vacation rentals. I can't get to Suttons Bay that often so I am renting my beautiful home on the times I can't be there.
Why they chose this property
I was thrilled to find this old farm house in 1999. It was only a one bedroom/bath at the time. The entire 2nd story was added in 2000 which doubled my living space. It has just gone though a very extensive face lift with new paint, carpet, etc. The antiques have been handed down through the generations and I want to share their warmth and heritage with my renters. The paintings/prints on the walls are all done by my Aunt Betty Fairbank Griggs. I have chosen her boat/water prints as it keeps me closer to my passion of boating. In the fall of 2021, I finally accomplished my dream of getting a gas stone fireplace.
What makes this property unique
I just love the convenience of this house!! With all the summer traffic, I can just walk to where I want to go! Suttons Bay has a huge public beach,a library, a boat ramp, a cinema, a marina, great walking paths, a huge park with tennis courts, skating rink, covered picnic areas on the beach, grocery stores, medical facilities, etc. Within a few miles you can be golfing, charter fishing, kayaking, mini golf, visiting wineries or hops farms, pick your own fruits/veggies, explore parks, trails, cycle, ski, shope till you drop, eat pizza to 4 star restaurants, go to festivals/music in the endless!!
