This warm and comfortable lodge near the heart of Government Camp showcases its historic charm! This remodeled condo offers a spacious living area. You'll also enjoy a shared year-round heated pool, heated sidewalks surrounding the pool area, a shared game room with a pool table, a foosball table, a wet bar, and a covered deck to use in the glorious summer months! Ideally located minutes from Mt. Hood Skibowl and shops and restaurants in the center of town, SkiWay Lodge at Thunderhead is an ideal spot for your next trip to Mt. Hood. For endless winter or summer fun options, take the free shuttle to Timberline Ski Resort and then backcountry downhill directly to your condo's slider door on the Ungroomed Thunderhead Trail. In the winter, you can snowshoe around Trillium Lake to the south; come summer, this area is perfect for hiking, biking, and enjoying alpine lakes, wildflower-filled meadows, and incredible scenic vistas of the mountain.

We come here every year. This is such a wonderful location. Thank you for continuing to make this available I wish it had a few more rooms connected to it, but perfect for 10 people.

Ladies' snow escape!!

The place was awesome, perfect for 6 women. Three full baths, big kitchen, two large dining tables, private, quiet. Perfect little 10 minute drive to timberline lodge.

Pros: Very spacious, great for two families. Good location and kids loved the pool. Cons: Vacasa standard 10am checkout time is too early and they also need to update the listing that says shared pool and game room are closed, they are not and it doesn't say the oven is out of order, which we planned on using. Overall a good place, we will try to come back.

Fun on the mountain

Great hot pool, perfect for cold nights with beautiful snowflakes falling all around you. Dryer was broken? Everything you could ever want in kitchen and elsewhere. Gorgeous old fireplace added a lot to our snowy mountain trip!

Didn’t provide us propane tank to use the barbecue grill and the pool was not warm enough to swim and even after contacting the property they didn’t try to get it resolved right away. So the service is pretty terrible but overall it’s not too bad because how cheap you can get it for several nights.

Don’t stay if it’s for the heated pool!

We have stayed at this same place for years. This year the “heated pool” was not warm enough to get in. We sent an inquiry to Vacasa about it and at first they said we had to request it be heated 72 hours in advance then they asked how I knew it wasn’t 101 and it was the HOA’s responsibility. It never got looked at or resolved. The place is also cold! Bring your own firewood as the really old space heaters and wall heaters barely worked. It’s a good location and big enough for a family. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Disappointed in Vacasa!

There is plenty of communication that there is only radiator heaters to heat the unit. However, the radiator heaters were not working. We messaged & called the property manager. She told us we would get a call back. We never did. We had to heat the entire place with small electric heaters; which is not the safest way to sleep 😳 Great location. Great space. The property mngt company was non responsive, however.

Not the right property

This property did not live up to expectations. - The WiFi did not work and we had to utilize cell phone hotspots for everything. - The ceiling had leaks from units above, the dishwasher leaked and was not attached to the cabinetry so it tipped out. - There were carpenter ants everywhere and my wife woke up with an ant crawling on her in the bedroom. Additionally the maintenance person only texted us and never showed up to address any issues. I would not rent this unit unless they have these issues resolved.

This cabin is nice, but has some cleanliness issues. Pretty dirty carpet, and for some reason there were several hairs and hair balls on the clean towels and linens when we arrived. We had trouble with the laundry machine (ultimately fixed a few days into our stay). A big part of why I rented this particular place was for the pool. We had two families and 7 young kids between us. We love skiing then swimming and playing in pool. The home was advertised as having a heated pool year-round, heated to 101 degrees, plus heated sidewalks. The pool was somewhat heated, but very cold. The first day the kids jumped in and within minutes they were shivering and the younger ones were crying. We tested the pool every day and it went from cold to lukewarm (somewhat swimmable for some of the older/braver kids) to cold again. I called Vacasa almost every day and sent texts. They assured me throughout our 8 day stay that they would "work on the pool" and keep me updated -- but they never once updated me on the pool, despite my multiple calls and texts. Many of my texts were not responded to. We also had about 1 out of 8 days with internet connection. The wifi was not working. I tried to sort this out with Vacasa too, but they were not responsive. We just went without internet. I felt the place was overpriced and exaggerates many of their amenities on the listing. It's a shame, since the pool was a major part of our reason for booking this place, and ended up being a total bust. I have also been very disappointed in Vacasa's responsiveness to the many issues we raised throughout our stay. Also, no one wants to spend their vacation on the phone with Vacasa everyday! It was all quite frustrating.

The cabin was so comfortable like a home away from home. Very responsive staff to our needs and we could not hear other guest in the building which made it a very relaxing trip. Fully stocked kitchen made cooking a breeze. Will book again and again I’m sure.

It is a nice sized place with comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. The trails out the back door is amazing for snow shoeing. The fireplace is beautiful but the page didn’t tell you that wood WASN’T provided so we spent a lot of extra money and time driving around looking for wood. The heated pool was also “closed” but others were in there. Overall I would stay again but will bring wood and wait for the pool.
