The Thompson Lodge has been in the family for decades and we hope you'll enjoy staying here. We've recently replaced the downstairs floors and renovated the downstairs bathroom, and are working on updating the rest of the cabin as well.
Cabin has one bedroom (with queen sized bed) and bathroom downstairs. Upstairs features a large loft (with king bed and TV), second bedroom (with two twin sized beds), and second bathroom upstairs. The house is kid friendly with puzzles, board games, toys, a high chair, and a Pack and Play should you need these. Enjoy the great views of the woods from every window!
Sometimes, from the deck you can watch deer walk through the yard on their way to and from the creek at the bottom of the property.

Our cabin is located on a quiet, woodsy street in a hilly Twain Harte neighborhood and just a short drive away from downtown. Some of our neighbors are residents, while other cabins are vacation houses like ours.
From the deck you can see a small lake and, in the summer, hear the sound of kids splashing and swimming.
Park on our driveway or just off the street at the top of the property. Public transportation is lacking in the area and there are no sidewalks on our street.
The hilly roads in the neighborhood are great for cyclists! We can show you a great route if you're interested in riding around.
It gets really dark out here at night, so bring a flashlight!
Bedding and bath towels are provided. Beach towels are not provided. Board games and puzzles are located in the upstairs bedroom. Extra chairs and umbrellas for the deck are located in the basement.
Wi-Fi password will be made available upon check in. Depending on your cell phone provider, service can be spotty. The house has a land line should you need to make phone calls. Please treat our cabin as if it were yours. Pets are not allowed. No smoking, candles, or fires allowed on the property.
***Please turn off upstairs heaters and all lights when you check out!***
Be sure to follow the simple checkout procedures on your last day at the cabin (these are printed in the house manual binder).

This is a very cozy cabin, small stream out back, super easy to find everything and great communication! It was clean, presentable and super comfortable inside...enjoyed our stay immensely, would definitely come again!
Visited Big Trees State Park, Pinecrest Lake, White Pines Lake, Moaning Caverns, Murphy’s, Sonora and the Red Apple for Pie and Donuts! This is a really cute cabin and was the perfect place to for my husband and I and our three adult children to hang out and relax. It has everything you might need during your stay. Really cozy yet with room to spread out. Beautiful woods around the property and we saw deer everyday. Washer and dryer was a valuable added bonus. Loved it!
This is a perfect location if you have a to six people in your party. Everything is perfect in this location plenty a room to stretch out, and still have the coziness of the A-frame cabin. Highly recommend this place.Unfortunately we had an issue with the screen door outback which look like it may have been off the track and adjusted incorrectly so that was set aside so that would not be compromised any further from any other renters. And one other issue we had was there was no propane for the ribeyes on Saturday night. Other than that this place was perfect
My name is Flora and I live in San Jose, CA. I am a property manager.
Why they chose this property
This property belonged to my husband's grandparents and has been in the family since they designed and built it in 1974. A lot of it is original, but we have done some updating over the years. It has everything you need, and nothing you don't. We keep the place clean and clutter free to help you relax during your stay.
Although we are technically in a neighborhood, it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere because it is so quiet and surrounded by trees.
What makes this property unique
The upstairs balcony is my favorite place to space out with a fresh cup of coffee. It's also a good perch for you to watch deer walk down to get a drink from the creek at the bottom of the property.
