3-Bedroom Cottage in the Adirondack High Peaks Village of Keene Valley

The Phelps Cottage is a charming 3 Bedroom Cottage in the heart of the High Peaks Village of Keene Valley. It is operated by the Keene Valley Lodge, an Adirondack hiker's favorite for the past 20 years. The cottage is located on the Lodge property in the center of town, just minutes away from the most popular High Peaks trailheads. It’s also within walking distance of the famed Noonmark Diner and the Ausable Inn, as well as several renowned shops such as The Mountaineer and The Birch Store, a coffee shop, rustic furniture store, fitness center and yoga studio.

Downstairs: 1 king bedroom, bathroom with shower, TV room, living room, eat-in large kitchen fully equipped for cooking real meals, sunporch with additional eating area.

Upstairs: 1 queen bedroom, 1 bedroom with two twins, 1 bathroom with tub and rainforest shower, washer and dryer.

Features include: Free wifi, cable TV, washer/dryer, dishwasher, deck with gas grill, backyard, path to a peaceful spot on the Ausable river with fire pit, Adirondack chairs and hammock.

The following attractions are within a 20-minute drive from the Phelps Cottage and the Keene Valley Lodge:
Lake Placid and Mirror Lake, and all Olympic venues
The Cascade Lakes
Whiteface Mountain Ski Area

Because the Phelps Cottage is part of the Keene Valley Lodge, we invite you to stop by the Lodge in the morning for hiking, climbing, skiing, and snowshoeing advice. We have lived, hiked Keene Valley since 1992, and have run the Lodge since 1999, and we are always happy to share our "local knowledge" of all the area has to offer, both in natural attractions and local restaurants, etc. We love to give hiking advice, and will point you in the right direction, whatever your level of experience.

Great location with walking in town. Loved the river access and shade. Kitchen well stocked with coffee, tea, supplies
wonderful spider that we observed for a few days on the porch. Deer walked across the road to the river too .

Very Clean and Homey

Our stay was very comfortable. It was clean and spacious for the 5 of us. It is right in town, so groceries, the diner, the playground, and the library were all within a comfortable walk We definitely recommend this property.

Great holiday weekend

Relaxing cottage

Perfect cottage for an Adirondack getaway

The Phelps cottage was perfectly appointed. We had every thing we would’ve needed in the kitchen. The location was wonderful and there was outdoor porch seating in both the front and the back of the house. There were multiple wildlife sightings and access to the river right behind. The property. I would definitely stay here again. It is a wonderful property and a great location with access to Lake Placid, Adirondack, trails, water, adventures, And many winter activities.

Perfect location for a High Peaks hiking get away

The Phelps Cottage was a perfect location for our hiking weekend. George offered excellent guidance/affirmation about our hiking plan. The amenities were abundant and aligned with our group needs and objective of our stay (washer/dryer, multiple bathrooms, spaces for a group to spread out, kitchen ideal for group food prep). The cottage is clean, cozy and appointed with updated appliances. George and Laurie are friendly, helpful and welcoming. We will definitely return!
