Located at a narrow point on St. George Island, guests of Cruz Del Sur - which means ‘Southern Cross’ in Spanish - will enjoy views of both the Gulf of Mexico and the Apalachicola Bay.

The first floor of this beautifully decorated home offers a spacious Gulf front master suite with King bed, large flat screen TV and morning kitchen equipped with a microwave, coffee maker and breakfast table. A private and furnished balcony brings you closer to the sparkling Gulf waters. The ensuite bathroom boasts a walk-in shower and double sinks with plenty of counterspace. A unique layout and a perfect space for a small family, the bayside twin over full bunk bedroom adjoins the master suite and has access to a bayside furnished deck with water view.

Across the hall is another King bedroom w/ access to the bayside deck, TV and private bathroom with shower. A laundry room w/ full size washer and dryer and laundry sink separate the two King suites.

The comfortably furnished living room has a large flat screen TV, gas fireplace and beach views. Step onto the covered deck to enjoy a meal alfresco or relax in the sunshine on the furnished sundeck. The dining area also enjoys water and beach views and offers seating for 6. Additional seating for 4 can be found at the breakfast bar. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of counter space, a center island with gas range and dedicated pantry. Just past the kitchen is a relaxing sitting area overlooking Bay waters with a twin sleeper pullout and access to a bayside deck.

A bayside guest bedroom with Queen bed is also located on the top floor. This bedroom has a TV, access to the bayside deck with gorgeous water views and a private bathroom with shower. A ½ bath is located at the top of the stairs separating the guest bedroom from the living space.

Cruz Del Sur offers an elevator that travels from the ground level to the top floor, under-house parking with covered entry and a park-style charcoal grill. The hot/cold outdoor shower and fish cleaning sink can be found on the West side of the home. And as an added bonus beach towels are available for your use.

Beach access is quick and easy via a community beach boardwalk located directly across from our home and in less than 60 seconds you will find your toes in the sand.

As guests inside the private gated community of Sunset Beach, you will have access to the large, community swimming pool and cabana area with lounge chairs and tables and tennis court. Just a short stroll away finds you at the Julian G. Bruce State Park.

Please note: No boats, RVs, motor homes allowed to be parked on any lot inside the Sunset Beach to be visible from Sunset Drive or adjacent lots. Watercraft 20' or less can be parked under the home if not visible from Sunset Drive or adjacent lots.

Spectacular House with a vie!

Loved the decks facing the gulf beach. The elevator was wonderful. The walk-in shower was great, the location of the house across from the beach was perfect! The pool was wonderful too! We will definitely be back again.

Good bones. Needs updating. The best part was the professional help Jamie and John gave us when the elevator quit and listened to the things that needed help. They also came and carried our luggage etc down 4 flights of stairs because the elevator quit working! We love being at Sunset Beach at SGI!

Reviewer Comments: Our party of 8 included my wife and me, two daughters, and 3 grandkids.We highly recommend Forgotton Shores Property Management as they have been our go to for St George Island rentals many times. Cruz del Sur has a wonderful location with great views even though it is not ocean front. We found it very clean and spacious and the elevator was great for dealing with the multiple levels. BJ’s Pizza is a great option for arrival day and we always enjoy patio lunches at the Blue Parrot.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House was clean but needs updating. Kitchen pots and pans are worn and need to be replaced. I found it odd that the departure instructions included stripping sheets off all beds as well as hand washing and drying all dishes. I’ve never had either of those requests in all our years renting vacation homes. Also, the TV service was not extensive which meant we were unable to watch March Madness basketball games directly on the TV. It was nice to be so close to the beach which was not crowded. We enjoyed biking around the island.

The layout for Cruz is a bit unusual, but worked well. Being across from the boardwalk and near the community pool was very convenient. Forgotten Shores is absolutely the best agency to work with on the island! Highly recommend.

The kids were safe and could ride their bikes in Sunset or down to Grandparents’ house without a was so nice to see the ocean from our living room and bedroom and be able to walk the boardwalk all the way to the beach sand. It’s pet free so we didn’t have to worry about our daughter have an allergic reaction to pet dander. Forgotten Shores VP was so easy to work with. Their friendliness and support throughout our stay made our stay even more delightful. They truly value each customer.

Fun family trip

Family beach trip

We loved this house! It was clean and very easy to get into! There were several small issues with the house. Doors not locking properly, shutters buzzing, chairs broken, etc. but overall we enjoyed our time. I think it’s just an older home and needs some light attention. No big issues that kept us from enjoying our trip! We will be back! :)

Overall it was great! The AC was out when we got there but they were able to fix it within a few hours. I was upset that they didn't give us a heads up and it did make our first night pretty hot but they did what they could to fix it quickly and brought us fans. It was clean but they didnt do a good job stocking the home with soap, trash bags, detergent, etc. The proximity to the beach and pool were awesome! Its about a 10 min drive to the restaurants.

Picture Perfect Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We shared this beach house with another family of 5. The house was clean, updated, and had plenty of space for us to all spread out and have some privacy when we needed it. This home is in a great location on the island- literally next door to the state park. We rented a kayak and took it out for some exploring. You can watch the sunrise and sunset from your balcony, and the boardwalk across the road is fantastic beach access. It was great to have a full size washer and dryer, and the garage space under the home is so spacious. We were able to keep all our beach gear in there and eliminate a lot of sand from coming into the home. The hose and sprayer were an added bonus so we could spray ourselves and everything off. The house looked exactly like pictured on the website, and was even a little bigger than we expected. Pros: Management company is great, location was fantastic, house was well stocked, great amenities, nice updates to home. Cons: Only one bath towel provided per person, so we did lots of laundry. Pantry is very small, so we stored most food in a corner of the kitchen. There were two family reunions happening in two houses across from us that were beachfront. We are talking 7-8 cars parked at the homes and 30+ people at the beach. This made it very difficult to find beach space. We actually were not able to use the boardwalk across from the house since there was no room to set up at the beach. We ended up walking down to the access point across from the pool. The beachfront homes had renters who were very rude and would ask that you not set up canopies or umbrellas in front of their rental home. So, being a “back row” home renter made it difficult to find beach space to set up and play for the day. This is in NO way a problem with the beach company we rented from, but rather an issue with whoever is managing the beachfront homes in that neighborhood. They are not monitoring occupancy levels nor informing their renters that the bea

Therefore, closet space was very limited. The other bedroom on the second floor had no drawer space. The drawer that was there during our last visit was not there. Bench removed from the end of the bed in the master bedroom.

Great change of scenery for two weeks!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our first visit to SGI and really pleased with Cruz Del Sur. Right by the bike path, state park, and a really short walk right to the beach. Had views of both the gulf and bay. Weather didn't allow us to use the community pool but it looked quite nice and just a few doors down from the house. Jamie was great to work with and provided clear instructions for arrival and departure. Only feedback that we provided her already was related to cleanliness of the kitchen items, but want to note that rest of house was very clean and nicely appointed.
