Located directly on the white sandy beach of the Gulf of Mexico. Sand Cay Beach Resort is a jewel on the luxurious island of Longboat Key, It’s tasteful architecture, pool and yard invite you for a perfect vacation whether you just want to relax, or are looking for great restaurants, shopping, kayaking, paddle, tennis, deep sea fishing, and cultural entertainment.
No street to cross to the gulf beach!
Beautiful 3rd floor 2BR/2BA unit #309, overlooking pool and ocean with easy elevator access. No noise from above to bother you!
South facing balcony with sunshade and umbrella. Striking views of the ocean from the balcony, but you only pay the garden-view rate. Bright open kitchen, refrigerator with ice and filtered water dispenser.
Cathedral ceilings throughout. Master Bathroom with walk in shower. Free wireless internet and even a desk. Free washer and dryer on site.
Only steps to the heated pool, tennis court and shuffleboard. Barbecue places are located close to the beach.

Bayfront Park has kayak rentals and courts etc. There are bike rental places and that is always fun. Publix delivers groceries. And restaurants within walking distance are Zota (next door and great sunset spot), Harry’s, Lazy Lobster, Euphemia Haye, and La Norma. Some other favorites are Shore, Mar Vista and Dry Dock and several others on the island. St Armand’s circle is a short drive off the island for shopping and restaurants.

The resort has direct access to the wonderful white sandy beach of the Gulf of Mexico with plenty of beach chairs. Soft access into the gulf, or walk on the beach for up to 12 miles watching birds or dolphins passing by.
Several town parks with nature walks on Longboat Key, the Mote Marine Aquarium with cruises in the Sarasota Bay and attractions for children, St. Armand´s Circle with exclusive shopping and dining. It is a short drive to downtown Sarasota with museums (Ringling museum, Classic Car Museum), Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, a wonderful botanical garden and many more interesting attractions, shops and restaurants.
30-45 minutes to Myakka River State Park
In St. Petersburg and Tampa (about 60-75min to drive) you find famous attractions like Busch Gardens, the Museum of Science and Industry and the Salvador Dali Museum.

Spring break

Nice green space, trees and wildlife in the garden area which made it refreshing when looking out into ocean area. We didn’t spend much time at the pool but the beach was so nice. Condo comfortable and felt like home.

Good location and access to beach. The condo was clean and well appointed. The condo did have some ants and a few of the Florida roaches kind of bothered them. Might need to have an exterminator to the unit.

Wonderful stay!!

We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful condo and very nice amenities. Loved the decor. The beach was so lovely. Publix and a few places to eat within a few miles so a car would be needed or Uber. No restaurants delivered, but was able to Instacart Publix. Grills on site and fully stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds, beach towels and free laundry on site. Plenty of beach loungers and you can borrow an umbrella, but it’s first come first serve from the office. Definitely recommended.

Sand Cay

Lovely condo, right on the beach. Under 10 minutes from a Public on the island which was very convenient for sticking up on groceries. The owners had a pack and play and a high chair available so setting up with our 2 year old was a breeze and we didn’t have to try to fly those items with us. Awesome beach, would recommend.

Ease of booking, fair cancellation policy, ultra quick response from owners. Property is top floor which allows for a birds eye view to the ocean and steps to beach. Area is safe for evening walks and there are fantastic restaurants locally.

Great place to stay on Longboat Key

We had a lovely time. The unit was clean, convenient, quiet and better than expected. Easy walk to the beach. Close to several good restaurants. The red tide irritated our throats when we were near the beach and on the deck, but it cleared up after a storm.

Christmas 2022 on Longboat Key

We enjoyed everything about our stay and the apartment. The view of the ocean from the balcony was amazing. Beach access was tremendous. We made use of the inviting pool and the pickle ball court. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The apartment itself was very clean and had all the amenities necessary.

Jeff and I are happy owners of Unit #309. We live in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI and have two daughters. In a few years we look forward to spending more time at Sand Cay and enjoying this slice of paradise that we love to share.

Why they chose this property

We have vacationed at Sand Cay Beach Resort for many years. Jeff's parents owned #217 during the 1990's and early 2000's. We loved experiencing all the Longboat Key and Sarasota and surrounding areas have to offer.

What makes this property unique

Sand Cay Beach Resort is located right on the beach. No streets to cross or long walks. And the benefit of our condo is you pay for Garden view but the view from the dining table and balcony on the 3rd floor actually has a view of the ocean!
