Winter Wonderland- Perfect Family Getaway!

Now booking summer 2026 weekly rentals!

A peaceful setting with a private swimming pool*, hot tub, fire pit, swing set, and outdoor shower. Wooded surrounding with towering pines. This quiet and serene location is tucked away from it all, but a short drive to all the action. Lots of nature and wildlife to be seen from the backyard.

In the heart of Michigan's Harbor country, the home offers excellent access to area beaches, shopping, dining and activities.

Recently updated 3 bd, 2 full bath house with large open floor plan giving you lots of room to gather with loved ones and enjoy your vacation. The house is 1,500 sq. feet. The house is kid friendly with kids' dishes, toys, high chair, and pack and play available.

The private, in ground pool is heated and fully enclosed by a safety fence with a magna lock. There are plenty of lounge chairs, as well as a table and umbrella. The pool is 15' x 30' and has stairs and a railing for easy entry. It is 3' deep in the shallow end and 5' deep in the deep end. Pool furniture, noodles, and toys are provided.

The luxury hot tub comfortable seats up to 7 people and is open year round.

Beach chairs, umbrellas, and sand toys are provided.

We do allow dogs with an additional pet fee of $15 per dog, per night, or $100 per dog for a week or longer. There is a 2 dog maximum. The property is NOT fenced in.

Pet Rules-
• All pets must be disclosed ahead of stay, pet rules agreed upon, and pet fee paid
• All Pets must be housebroken and well behaved
• Dogs must stay off furniture and beds
• All pet waste must be picked up immediately and dispose of in outdoor trash bin
• No dogs allowing in the pool and hot tub
• Out of respect for our neighbors, ensure your pet does not make excessive noise
• Excess pet hair will result in extra cleaning fee
• Any damage caused by a pet will be charged to a pet owner


Weekly Rentals only from June 14th through August 30th, with a few exceptions as shown on the calendar. Weekly rentals are Friday to Friday. 2 day minimum for all other dates.

*Pool is open and heated from Memorial Day weekend until Oct. 1st

What a lovely place for our girls weekend! The home was neat & tidy & filled with nice touches which made for a perfect stay. We thoroughly loved the pool & hot tub; then we vegged on the snuggly couch when it rained. Katie is a gracious host who shared her top go to spots in the area. The house is in a cute neighborhood full of mid-century homes & was close to ALL THE THINGS. We will definitely be staying here again!

Property has everything you need. We spent a whole week relaxing at the pool. Close to New Buffalo to do grocery shopping, eat at restaurants and visit the beach. This is our second year at this property and would definitely come again!!

Thank you for another wonderful stay at this family property. We are a multi-generational group and the property was perfect for us. Katie takes great care to make sure the guests are happy. She works overtime in finding solutions to any opportunity or issue that pops up in your stay. This is our second year staying in their home. It has something for everyone to keep their interest and make happy.

Great weekend in harbor country!!

We decided to take our pups apple picking and make a weekend of it. Katie & Mike’s getaway was a great home base! We visited the Schafer Apple farm near Baroda - the only farm we could find that still accepts dogs. Super great experience. The house as was centrally located with restaurants and groceries in easy reach. Look forward to visiting again during the summer when the really nice pool is open!!

The perfect stay for families with kids!

Steve and Katie have the perfect place to relax and enjoy all of SW Michigan offerings! We loved all the amenities for our kids (toys, books, high chair, bed rails, pack n play, plates, cups and silverware!) But we also loved all the thoughtful amenities - Bluetooth speaker, kitchen accessories to cook and grill, fans and blankets! We didn’t stay in the season to use the pool, but are already looking at dates for summer time. The house is situated on a quiet street and a he backyard is private. Being minutes for the expressway was great for our friends trip! Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful Harbor Country Retreat

My family and I have been coming to Harbor Country for years and have stayed in a variety of different places. This one is among our favorites -- ideal location with proximity to the lake but also to Three Oaks and the wineries; great features like the hot tub and pool (though we were out of season for the pool), firepit and the spaciousness of the yard in general; indoor spaces that were comfortable and clearly very well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the living area was an ideal place to chill out after a day of visiting all our favorite places. I loved the hammock in the backyard -- a simple thing but so impactful looking up at the fall colors of the trees that create a nice living fence along the property.

Truly had everything

We had a family vacation as this was perfectly located between our kids and grandkids in different locations. Katie was super responsive to any questions we had. The house was very spacious for everyone and super clean. The entire family enjoyed the afternoons at the heated pool, the hot tub, watching the kids on the playscape and we could have bonfires at night. One of our favorite features was the hot outdoor shower. A very unique experience! Her wonderful neighbor stopped by and brought us homemade blueberry muffins. The recommendations for the nearby beaches, shopping, wineries and restaurants were extremely helpful! Everything is very close by. My family wants to come back again as an annual family vacation because it was a perfect getaway for all of us.

Girl's Weekend

The accommodations for our girl's weekend turned out wonderful at this property in Union Pier. The beds were all comfortable which is important for our aging group. We spent many hours each day of our 3-day weekend in the beautiful pool, and the living room furniture was quite comfortable for our hours of visiting and catching up. Lots of nearby restaurants and antique stores. We had a great time.

We have been staying here for many years now. The house is perfect for our group. Great location in a quiet neighborhood, clean and full of all the essentials. The highlight for us is the beautiful pool and that we can have our dogs along for the week! Katie is always available and accommodating for anything that pops up. Hello and welcome! We are Steve and Katie Bernhard. We reside in Oak Park, Illinois with our three boys. We love the outdoors and spend lots of time camping and hiking. We are passionate about travel and spending time with our friends and family.

We also love the beach, which led us beautiful Harbor Country Michigan. We've been vacationing in Michigan for years, and in 2019 we purchased our wonderful vacation home in Union Pier, Michigan. This house is a dream come true for our family. It has everything we wanted... open floor plan, a serene back yard that's full of nature, close proximity to the beach, and of course the gorgeous pool! We are so thrilled to be able to share our home others. It's the perfect place to gather with loved ones to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
