HISTORY By the upper Brazos River in Northern New Mexico, at the base of the famous Brazos Cliffs, our cabin resides in a cabin community dating back to the 1930’s. The village began with the Brazos Lodge and 12 cabins, some which are still in use today. The area was incorporated in the 1960’s with lots being sold and cabins built over the years. Our cabin was built in 1974, from local materials acquired at the old mill in nearby Chama, NM and stone from the nearby quarry.

The cabin was perfect for a low-key relaxing mountain weekend. Property was very comfortable and well stocked, particularly the kitchen, which made cooking easier and more enjoyable than some other places I've found. Will definitely visit again!
I've stayed here twice and have loved my stay every time, the owner is super responsive and the cabin is so cozy and beautiful. Such a wonderful stay!! Thank you for yet another great experience and wonderful weekend!
This cabin was as advertised! Scenic, quiet location; deck overlooking a meadow; super-clean throughout; well-equipped kitchen; comfortable beds; easy 20-minute drive to town; excellent, prompt communication with owner. Hoping to return soon -
Loved staying at the little A-frame. A perfect location for quiet nights and bright stars. The house was clean and had everything needed for for a comfortable visit.
Great place to get away from the city. Host was responsive to questions and the cabin is cozy, clean and isolated enough to get quiet nights and do some amazing stargazing.
Quiet & comfortable cabin in relaxing & beautiful setting
This was our first time staying at the Jag's cabin and it was awesome! Getting to and into the cabin was easy. It was perfect for our weekend stay - very quiet, great places to walk in the woods right out the door, close to Chama and great public lands. We loved sitting on the deck in the mornings and evenings, watching all the critters wander by, the cliffs during sunset, and the moonrise through the trees. It was fun to peruse the quite extensive local and New Mexico history books there. Thank you to the Jags for providing such a lovely spot for our stay!
The property was clean and well maintained. Ideal for two adults who want to get away. The kitchen is set up self catering all meals. Overall very pleasant location and a great cabin.
Got to watch deer, wild turkey, and birds all from the deck. Cozy wood burning stove kept us toasty during our stay. Gorgeous mountain views. Quiet area.
This was just what we needed. Great location for hiking, seeing wildlife, fishing and so much more. The cabin had everything we needed. We loved Chama and the surrounding area. We will definitely be back.

JOSHUA AND FAMILY WERE PERFECT GUEST, WOULD HOST THEM ANYTIME!
This is a great location for a couple or small family. The cabin was well set up for our use. Four people could sleep comfortably here and the kitchen can handle feeding that many. There is a deck with beautiful views of the area and you have easy access to a number of activities around Chama. I have recommended the Jag cabin to friends, family, and co-workers.
We were met by mule deer at the front door upon arrival like they were neighborhood pets. Amazing views of mountains around you. Very nice area with beautiful privately owner cabins and lodges scattered about. Not crowded at all and felt we were the only ones out there. Interior is clean and as advertised. Will definitely stay again!
The only reason I gave accuracy of online listing 4 stars was because the pictures really do not do this place justice! It is way cuter in person than online. Had a great time, thank you!
I was looking for a quiet, clean and safe space to reflect and rejuvenate. I run into this listing and decided to book. My experience in the cabin was amazing. It was clean, well kept and quiet. Wildlife was abundant in the neighborhood, thus, for those who enjoy wildlife. Tim was an amazing host, he is professional, direct in communication and easy to work with. I will recommend this cabin!
Really wonderful little cabin. It was as though Tim and Ann anticipated our every need. The wood stove was great and kept us toasty all evening and the supplemental space heaters were more than adequate at night. In addition we had enough blankets and good pillows, nice sheets.
Cabin well built. I would stay there again. The only inconvenience was the inability or difficulty of getting a wi-fi signal.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Cozy Cabin by the Wild Brazos! We love to hike and the host offered recommendations of which we did do Red Lake and it was great! The area was private but other cabins close by. we walked to the base of the Brazos cliffs and also to the Brazos river and through the numerous village roads to the Aspen Grove which is beautiful. We were within distance to Taos,1 1/2 hrs, Chama, 20 min. Pagosa Springs,90 min Heron Lake 20 minutes. The cabin had hiking books, movies nice deck with picnic table. We especially appreciated the Nebraska salt and pepper shakers as we are from Nebraska. The kitchen is tiny and the microwave on top of the fridge but I'm only 4'11 so not an issue for most people.Overall, we loved and would go back again!Michael and Mary
