Lake Lure called one of the most beautiful lakes in the world by National Geographic boasts breath taking mountain views from its sparkling clean beach area. The 720 acre lake offers year round activities and Chimney Rock and the Hickory Nut Gorge only add to the endless opportunities for fun. If shopping is your forte you will enjoy the village shops of Chimney Rock, Rutherfordton, Hendersonville, Asheville and Black Mountain.

The Cabin in the Pines is a new easy to get to Lake Lure mountain view log home that boasts cabin décor and master bedroom on first level. You can warm up next to the fireplace, enjoy a movie, game or good book. You will enjoy the close proximity of Ingles grocery store (2 miles), Chimney Rock and Lake Lure beach (3 miles), a public golf course (1 mile), a public library where you can find a good book for yourself and the kids (walking distance) and a private lake (Mirror Lake) with beach and covered picnic area (2 blocks). You will leave refreshed, relaxed and ready to return. Most homes including ours do not have Wifi. Wifi is available at all public restaurants and library.

This cabin is a gem in the woods! We loved our stay here! The town of Lake Lure is still rebuilding from Hurricane Helene, but we were lucky to stay at this cabin that has a private lake for residents of the community. Our kids loved swimming at Mirror Lake, looking for waterfalls, and swinging in the hammocks on the front porch.The owners of the property were awesome with communication!We would stay here again.

Beautiful House, Perfect Location

Had an amazing stay at this house! The house was clean and the perfect size for my family. We enjoyed Chimney Rock, Lake Lure Beach and Mirror Lake. The access to Riverbend was a huge plus and where we spent most of our time.

A favorite spot

This is our second time staying here. The cabin is a great size, well stocked, cute decor, and a great wraparound porch. Access to Mirror Lake to swim and short distance to grocery store, restaurants and hiking are all awesome. The owner was responsive and accommodating. We hope to go back again in the future!

Awesome cabin!

Cabin in the Pines is a fantastic place for a family getaway. The owner is very accommodating, and easy to work with. We enjoyed being close to amenities at Rumbling Bald Resort. Our family enjoyed the covered decks and ease of parking. The cabin is well-appointed and very clean. We look forward to future visits!

Our second time renting this cabin!

We loved this cabin last summer and stayed here again just this past week. We love the access to the Broad River — the swimming hole and the nature walk with taps to play in. We also had a great time on the beach + in the water at Mirror Lake. It’s a great community and we had a great time, the hammocks on the wrap around porch are always a hit with our kids. There was a minor plumbing issue before we arrived, the owner let us know already of time and the issue was solved before we checked in. Each time we needed anything, he was very quick to respond to our texts. We highly recommend this cabin! It’s in a perfect location to do so many activities.

OK but needs improving

My husband and I took our 11yo girl/boy twins and his 80yo father to this property for the week of July 4th. We are well versed world travelers and have stayed in several Airbnb and VRBO rentals. We arrived late (11pm) but were able to get inside the property without any issue. It was very hot inside on 1st & 2nd floors and took a while to cool. Once cooled, the house was very comfortable. It was great having a 1st floor bathroom/bedroom for Grandpa with the rest of us upstairs. We were very surprised by the amount of spider webs inside the house in every single room. In the ceiling corners, almost all the lights, base board corners...just a lot of them. This made us look more in depth and the property really just needs a deep, deep clean. Downstairs bedromm and bathroom linens were fine but upstairs they should all be replaced! The sheets and washcloths especially are overdue for replacement. It also would have been nice to have had decent toilet paper, paper towels, and more than 2 dishwasher detergent pods for the entire week. We went out and had to purchase these items the day after our arrival. Not having any WiFi or Internet (which we knew ahead of time) or cable (unable to get it to work) turned out to be an issue. Was not able to make phone calls. We were able to make the very short walk to the library to get cell phone service (at entrance of turn off get to property). We went to Rumbling Bald Resort a few times. Twins sorta enjoyed the lazy river (which you cannot enter unless you have a float) and the pool. They both are on the small side so very crowded given number of people there during the holiday week. The resort turned out to be an absolute zoo for July 4th! The local area is close to lots of places to go visit and lots of things to do and owner provided good information about those things. Property is closer to a main road than we were made aware of so road noise is an issue. The description of the property underlyingly indicated a pool table, foosball table, etc...were at the property. They're not. They are at the resort. Overall, the one week out of the year our family attempts to go on vacation was just disappointing - especially for a holiday week. Property was a disappointment overall. We left a day early. Would not rent this one again.

Great Family Vacation

Beautiful cabin conveniently located with easy access to all the activities we had planned. The use of the amenities at the Rumbling Bald Resort was a big plus.. The owner could not have been more gracious and helpful in suggesting activities , providing good instructions, and making himself available for any assistance we might need. Perfect for a family!

Our little family of four had a perfect relaxing getaway here. It was a great vacation before we add a new baby to the family. The house was clean, matched perfectly to the description, perfect for kids because there was a bed bumper there and outlet plugs all over already and some toys and games! Plenty of room for the boys to play all over inside and outside. The free access to the resort was key. We used that access like crazy!!!! The house was centrally located between resort and ingles. House was stocked for cooking and eating. Shawn was super awesome at communication and getting everything set up for us beforehand! We will definitely be back again! This was such a gem spot for us, we had never been to the area before. There’s no Wi-Fi as it states (which we saw ahead of time) but Directv worked great for us!!! There’s even a little kids loft area up top that we didn’t realize was there until we got there. Perfect spot for older kids. Highly recommend! Oh and the grill was great too!

Beautiful cabin!

My family of four stayed at this gorgeous cabin for three nights for a much needed getaway. It did not disappoint! It was clean, well stocked and very spacious. We enjoyed sitting on the wraparound deck with our morning coffee and in the evening for dinner. Beds were comfortable, water pressure was terrific and there was plenty of hot water. Access to Rumbling Bald was awesome and definitely made our trip 5 stars. Communication with the owner was exceptional. He provided great recommendations and all the info necessary for an easy and relaxing getaway. Will definitely keep this place in mind for future trips!

Could use some hospitality improvements

The cabin was very nice to the eye and clean, but I was a little disappointed in the lack of hospitality. Upon arrival, the lockbox wasn’t where it said it was going to be, so we had a moment of panic, but thankfully found it. The listing stated that the cabin was behind a library, but failed to mention their was a fire station right next to the library and a fairly busy road. We could hear traffic whenever we were out on the porch and sirens during the night, which took away from the idea that we were going to a peaceful mountain cabin. The property is also on a corner of two roads and has neighbors closely located on two sides. The master bed downstairs was extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the pillows were very flat and cheap, so that also did not help with getting sleep. The shower head in the master bath ran every time you tried to use the bath and the master toilet constantly clogged if we used any toilet paper. In regards to the kitchen, there were only 5 forks, so I was constantly washing silverware and the grill barely worked. At checkout there is a list of expectations for how to leave the cabin, including removing all trash from the property and dumping it behind the public library. It would be nice if there was a trash service or this was included in the cleaning service fee. Overall, I felt like this cabin is a rental business and lacked the hospitality I expect when using VRBO.

Charming Cabin close to everything.

What a wonderful weekend getaway at Lake Lure. The property rental was tastefully furnished, clean, and close to it all. Owner was great with helpful information of the surroundings. Bonus was being able to check out the resort which was included. A fun time was had by all of us. I would recommend for families and groups of friends alike. Will definitely keep in mind for a summer getaway in the future.

What an amazing property! It was a beautiful and quaint log cabin in the middle of the mountains. So quiet and scenic. Tons of space for our large family. There are tons of activities really close by. A perfect vacation spot!

We enjoyed our time at the clean and spacious cabin! We had access to mirror lake and rumbling bald resort through the property owner. We loved the porch wrapping around the entire house. We grilled out twice and ate at the kitchen table each night. Great trip! If WIFI is a must, bring a hot spot or you can check one out with a NC library card at the library next to The Property.
