This property was just as described. Very comfortable beds, plenty of dining space and a comfortable living area. This would be a perfect getaway for a family with children. Everything was fantastic!

Reviewer Comments:
My husband and I booked this trip to visit the amazing Smith Lake. We had many sources telling us how great the lake was and we were not disappointed. This location provided us with an awesome view and great access to the water. You will not be disappointed if you choose this property. Very clean and everything you need to have a great time.

Clean rental
This house had only 1 bath and for a place that sleeps 10 it is not enough. Also the house only sleeps 8. Not enough beds for 10. It was good on the view, dock, and kitchen had working adequate supplies. The pots, and other dishes were good.

Thanks for the review. Just for clarification, we advertise the house sleeps 8 with a max of 10 AND that it only has 1 bath...neither of these should have been a surprise. This means it sleeps 8 in beds (as your review states) and if you want to have 2 kids sleep on the couches that is fine. As an FYI, owners are looking at adding another bath (as well as many other upgrades) as they know it could use one. Keep in mind that at that point the nightly rate will increase.
I do not understand the 5 star reviews of this property. The house is rustic at best; overall really janky. The power went out during our stay as well.
The dock was broken, basically unusable on one whole side. Undisclosed at the time of rental. Rusted metal trim was hanging off and nails were coming out of the boards. I don't know how someone has not cut themselves and caught tetanus. With 4 small children wanting to jump off the dock it was very dangerous.
The house has entire support beams held together with glue. One support beam was actually bent and seems like it will be buckling soon. I do not know how this is safe. The stairs have no rails; a dog or child can easily fall off the side of the stairs onto the concrete outdoor shower platform that does not work.
The windows in all the bedrooms are disgusting; the beds are gross; the bottom bunk on one of the bunk beds was so small, my 10 year old girl could not fit in it.
The entire yard was covered - and I mean covered- with a carpet of poison ivy.
I am shocked that the reviews do not reflect the true condition, and I am also shocked that the house is deemed up to code. I would not recommend this house for anyone.

Everything is relative and this review is unfair. Please do not base your opinion solely on this review. You can't pay $300/nt for a 4 BR and get a $600-800/nt house. The pictures of this house show the rustic nature of the house and the ad tells that there is 1 BA and window units for cooling. This is one of our older, true lake homes. Power went out in the area, nothing to do with the house, The complaint about the dock was valid for their visit as the dock was missing a float when they arrived because the vendor repairing was delayed (and did not tell the owner or us). As a result, the dock was not repaired until the day this party left. The dock is older so there are blemishes like on ever older dock. We have never heard anything about poison ivy but will take a look. I expect to find the normal vines we have around the lake. If poison ivy (which there is very little anywhere around the lake) we will get addressed. Please take this review with a grain of salt as the guest arrived to a dock issue and it impacted the rest of the trip. No mention was made about the good things about this property: flat lot, great views, large open living area. Smith Lake Rentals
The place was a advertised. However, the drive way is very steep and with loose gravel. A few of our guests felt uncomfortable driving their car down there. I had a 4 wheel drive which made it just fine. Loved the open concept living - dining-kitchen. The view was outstanding, dock was great.
This property is amazing for the boat centric family vacation. The covered boat dock and close location to boat ramps and gas maria’s makes it easy to maximize time on the water. The open floor layout allowed us to relaxed and cook meals at the same time. The host was correct the narrow gravel driveway with steep grade make it impossible to turn around a trailer boat. Launch your boat first. Great place.
