Stunning Views, Beautiful Location, Fantastic Holiday

My wife and I had a wonderful week long break. Amazing views from the villa. The host was welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help us. Even providing a bottle of Sparkling Rose from his own vineyard for my wife’s birthday. Would love to return and spend some more time enjoying the views and beautiful food.

Amazing views!

We enjoyed 4 nights at this Villa in Mesoa Frio. The views were amazing! The home was comfortable but some of the furnishings could be updated. The hosts were very helpful and friendly.

This was an amazing property. The view is spectacular! The owners live above the rented unit and available for questions. You’ll need a vehicle to get anywhere outside of the property.

Superb

A beautiful villa with a welcoming host and a fantastic view of the Douro River, situated on a hillside with a vineyard and fruit trees. We stayed while the wisteria and orange trees were in bloom and the scent was amazing. Definitely, we would like to come back.

Awesomeness!

Constantino was an amazing and friendly host that made you feel at home. Very personable and had some great suggestions on restaurants. He took care of that as my daughter was just proposed to that evening. He had an excellent recommendation and even called and made a reservation for us. He and his wife brought some fresh picked fruit from their land. And the pictures don’t do their place justice…so nice, peaceful, and calm. Loved everything about it. Would definitely stay here again!

location, location, location. It's that simple! The property sits pearched at the top of one of the most outstanding views in the whole Douro Valley. Within 5 minutes drive of station to Porto. Great local vineyard tours. The property owner takes personal care of the pool, on a daily basis, the pool is always clean and fresh. What friendly people, got a question? just ask! Property secured behind key fob gates, with a great local cafe just beyond the property. Yes you.ve guessed, we want to go back!

Constantino (owner, who resides above the bungalow) was very attentive, every morning he cleaned the pool. We did move some of the furniture around, there is no relief from the sun on either lower or upper verandahs save for a couple “very small” beach umbrellas (picture on VRBO site with covered verandah should be removed). Constantino also helped us with taxis and reservations (not much English spoken by the locals), we were very grateful. Also, they have a beautiful vineyard that we were able to walk through, it would have been fun to help him with his harvesting (picking the grapes), but we were one week too late. We were able to sample the host’s white wine from his vineyard, it was very good.

The property is tucked away very near a famous viewpoint. The owner was very helpful with restaurant suggestions. There is a café hut open not far from the end of the drive. We were able to buy any food and drink we needed in a small supermarket in the local town of Masão Frio - a short 4 minute drive away. We found a through-the-vines and along-the-valley 20-30 minute walk to nearby Rede. Decor is older Portuguese style, a little tired but completely adequate. The pool is bigger than it looks in the photos and is regularly cleaned. The sunlounge cushions need replacing. There are the most beautiful views over the valley both up- and down-river.

Our stay got off to a slightly rocky sta

Our stay got off to a slightly rocky start because the check-in instructions were more confusing than necessary. Since the owners live on the property and personally meet guests upon arrival, a simple note stating that they would greet us at check-in would have been sufficient. That said, getting to the property using the provided directions was straightforward. Once we arrived, everything changed. This is a truly special place. The apartment is cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. From the very first moment, we felt completely at home. Constantino and his wife were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. Their hospitality made us feel more like friends than guests. The view is simply spectacular and impossible to forget. Sitting and taking in the scenery was one of the highlights of our trip. Constantinoo’s wines are also excellent and added a unique touch to the experience. There are not enough words to fully describe this property.

Absolutely breathtaking

We absolutely loved our visit in Mesao Frio. Tino’s house was perfect for us, we didn’t want to leave. We loved the views from every room and especially the backyard. We also enjoyed a 1 hour boat ride, wine museum, dinner at Tasca de zequinha (Andre and Alisa) and bakeries near Aundreas and Alisa’s place. Highly recommend Tino’s house and all that we did.
